interesting words from Teddy Archer (Intl agent), Euro still option for kai but he lost his leverage and aura of mystic

“I think in Europe the options that he have, it won’t be the same anymore. There could be something else in Europe but it’s not going to be the same,” said Archer, the former player turned NBA and FIBA agent who does a lot of dealings with European ballclubs.

“He won’t be able to make as much money, they won’t bet on him that much because now they have seen him come hard time in the US. So now they think, ‘Ok he needs us a little bit more than we need him.’”

it is one of those things, what if. imo, i would have preferred this route and this was the thing i was expecting in his much hyped announcement

I had no problem with the Ignite route as it was always high risk high reward. Its execution I think was poor but the path chosen wasnt a bad one.

Well never really know since he never played a single game..

Lost commission.. :p

So it should be Kai Sotto holds his own vs Ange Kouame and not Kai Sotto dominates Angelo Kouame in February bubble training.. :o

That was the writer's words. It wasnt a direct qoute from the coaches. The coaches statements were hinting that kai had the better of kouame.

The spin article proves that the offers were real and substantial money was offered by euro teams. The euro tour also was real.lol i dont agree that kai's dream hit a snag. His dream isnt dependent on games but would depend on his value as a prospect. It was just a case of him not able to showcase his wares. NBA teams will find talent irregardless of the players circumstance and situation. Campazzo and Deck were signed without any fanfare. I believe Kai would be signed or drafted even if he cant play significant games. It is obvious EWPs strat is to expose Kai to known NBA trainers. It would somehow build connections with NBA teams.

Well worse comes to worst he can always just play in Japan together with Thirdy if the offers in Europe won't be that big.

18 yr old kai is way way better than his 16yr old version. I was too worried when he first played for BG at 15. Kai had exceeded all my expectation. He was decent on the last fiba world U17 and U19 even if he was way younger than his opponents. He was also very good with TSF. His BWB was just average but you dont really count on those games. Those were mere exhibition and not real games. If I were real scouts and NBA team, i wont really be discourage with Kai. He have consistedly displayed tremendous improvements every year. Potential and upside is too big to not draft him.

Yeah he lost a lot when kai suddenly decided to go the states instead. And maybe his contact, first name Edmond, was supposed to get some cut too. Now we see where all these is rooted. Anyway, IMO, kai’s camp made the right choice. He’s been transformed into a not just skilled big but also an athletic 7 footer.

[Reports emerging from the Calam-bubble claimed Sotto more than held his own in his battles with naturalization candidate Ange Kouame in the one week he joined Gilas practices and scrimmages.]

More than held his own.
that’s from the older article.

Kai's training buddy right now is Amare.
Yes folks Ama're stoudemire a NBA VET who currently plays in tel aviv if im not mistaken..Kai is getting exposed to pretty good competition right now.

Hope he picks up a thing or two from Amar'e. His mastery of the pnr is something else.

Pay in Chinese CBA is way better than in Europe. Hamed Haddadi is a regular asian import for one of the four teams who finished with the worst record the previous season, CBA rules allow for one Asian import player to be signed by each of the four teams who finished with the worst record the previous season..

Personally, I'm tempering my expectations, which is why I'm hungry for a televised game where Kai's involved.

Agree, Kai just need to play actual games against high level senior basketball players regularly..

The agent can cry over his spilled milk all he wants but, to me, kai made the right choice. Kai may not get that one time big time contract anymore but at the same time, he doesn’t have to worry about having to shoulder half the buy out cost later. Lol he may have to shell out more than what Real Madrid or whichever bagged him has paid him had he chose Europe. Kai will get his big money once he signs with the fortunate NBA team.

The article stated that Kai accepted a better offer with EWP. Kai had earn a lot since then and EWP had a great plan for him. Others, may contradict but they maximize kai in all aspect. That is the beauty of having an agent. They will market and work for you. They will establish connections and prepare everything.

There is rumor that EWP and Kai will be announcing their next move this week. I am expecting a positive info on his plans. I am also confident that Kai has been offered to teams. They made a lot of connections all this time. I think it is possible that Miami could draft Kai this year.

I think Kai is still so far the luckiest prospect we ever have in basketball.

1. His family is willing to support and go with him abroad for his nba dreams

2.He have a lot of sponsors. Let's face it. Without Chooks, maybe some SBP, and EWP, Kai's TSF and Ignite stint will not be possible.(That is a lot of money to spend)

3. TSF made him better because Coach Rob is a developmental Coach. And he shined as a HS Prospect.

4. He is now a Millionaire after signing a 500,000 more or less US dollar contract in Ignite.

5. He was able to have the same training with top prospects like Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga. Also learns how to play with them
(Though only scrimmages)

6. Now, back to EWP. He is being connected and trained with different nba trainers and nba veterans.

7. Unlike Kiefer, Japeth, Kobe, and Parks. Kai is a legit draft prospect. And I can say well known (atleast namewise) among nba front offices
