^^Princepal Singh also played for his home country during his Ignite stint. Troll if you must, but at least don't misrepresent the facts.

If you are feeling trolled then so be it. Thats on you. Im not here to convince you. So what if Singh played for his country. What's the connection with the article.

My point was the media mileage garnered in the US (NBA )helped in great way because a virtually unknown player (Singh) played for /stuck it out with Ignite.

A priceless media mileage for someone aspiring to enter the NBA, especially to non American and lowly ranked players like Singh and Sotto. Singh/Sotto are both benchwarmers of Ignite. Singh stayed put ( even as a benchwarmer) , Kai did not.

Singh's perseverance reaped dividends IN A WAY or INDIRECTLY because a well written article was made on him. This article, in one way or the other, was read by NBA stakeholders, other media people and enthusiasts. This is 1 of the missed opportunities of Kai.

(Now whether Singh will be drafted this yr or enter the NBA sometime in the future, thats another story)

It actually is a valid question and debate, who has a better chance of making the NBA (10 day contract or whatever) Kai or Singh?
Both probably will not be drafted this year or ever ( draft class is automatically 2021 due to signing a contact with an US based pro team as per CBA) .

I would say Kai is more talented and more upside, but Singh may actually have things going for him (large Indian market) and his relationship with Ignite and the NBA. , the room for historical negative experiences isn't much for border line players . There is a reason why Sean Marks and Brian Scalabrine have had long NBA careers despite their obvious limited talent.

Agree, this is why our Asian neighbors have produced NBA players because they stick it out through thick and thin, they don't let the hype train get into their head. I'd really hope Kai's handlers would stop with the marketing (youtube highlights , kaiju academy etc) and concentrate on training Kai, once kai makes it to the NBA then they can start reaping their investment

I hope you have sources to insinuate that Kai is like Kobe. I highly doubt his decision to play for Gilas while antagonizing Ignite was just his decision alone.

As for Singh being drafted, Sim Bhullar already played in the NBA so it's likely that another Indian player coming in will happen. Also, Vivek Ranadive is of Indian descent.

Big untapped markets is the focus of any product that wants to expand. The more people yet to be patrons in a big population (like India) the bigger the opportunity..
A English cricket league would be stupid to focus in selling English cricket to the saturated Indian cricket market

NEW ZEALAND basketball is not interested in promoting their basketball to the saturated Philippines basketball market , but is absolutely keen to promote their rugby in the Philippines an untapped market

Wow mali NANAMAn!!

Bery smart .. try telling that to any business and marketer.
And the NBA in it's approach towards India., they might as well close their NBA academy in India..a dumb idea according to you

Dapat they set up the NBA academy in Lithuania or Lebanon lol bery smart talaga

F4 quote "The "big Indian market" has already been tested with "Mr" Bhullar and it was a big failure. They play cricket not basketbal"

India 1 - Philippines 0

The Dallas Mavericks made 7-foot-2 Indian Satmar Singh their second-round selection at 52nd overall of the 2015 NBA Draft. According to BRP’s US agent in 2015, the Dallas Mavericks went for Singh when the 7-2 Indian player remained available when it was their turn to pick over Ray Parks Jr.

“’Eto kasi 7-2 eh,” Dy said. Ray’s Filipino agent..

CBA terms explained

CBA terms explained

The use of the word "AUTOMATICALLY " eligible is used for the purpose to stress that no action (e.g enter , declare) is required to be made available for selection or being drafted.

None of those who are automatically eligible declare to enter the draft it is assumed they are entered for selection already.

Those who declare early such as underclassmen, are not automatically entered eligible as such they need to declare entry.

Definitely it wasn't Kai's decision alone however at the end of the day the final say will be through him. The fact is already there, Kai left Ignite whether to endorse a 30 million peso ad, to join Gilas or by other reasons, the fact remains he left Ignite knowing the repercussion that comes with it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing Kai, all of us here wants him to succeed and I personally predict he's going to make it to the NBA (2nd round or undrafted w/ 2 way contract) but we're in a forum where we can discuss the wrong and rights of Kai in order to get a healthy discussion and that's the best way to show support to the kid instead of promoting toxic positivity and/or being immature and fighting anyone who might criticize him.

It just irks me that people will insinuate stuff about the kid like the whole take about being "impatient" and stuff. That's not nice, especially when the final decision is definitely not just Kai's input alone. Final decision may run through him yes, but that's after all the devil's whispers in his ear by EWP, MVP Group, SBP, etc. In Kobe's case yes, it was impatience. But BRP Jr? Japeth? Definitely not impatience, but there were 3 straight posts talking like Kobe's case was the norm for Filipino prospects.

It might not be dissing Kai, but there's definitely shade. I don't get the point of "not promoting toxic positivity" when assumptions are flying left and right like they were fact. People somehow know that Princepal Singh will be drafted because of the Indian market, when Sim Bhullar didn't even succeed? That Kai will definitely be drafted due to the CBA, when there's been no indication towards that being common knowledge due to mock drafts not having Kai's name up there? That because Princepal Singh played in the G League, he'll definitely at least get considered before Kai? If Kai's name is at the bottom of the draft boards, Princepal's is nowhere to be seen and he played in the G League.

If being positive about Kai's chances is "toxic positivity" then give me that all day. Mahirap na when people act like their opinions are fact and drown hopeful opinions out because it's "healthy discussion", like those talking positively don't know what the real situation is. Criticism is warranted when it's due; it's stupid to dole out criticism just because we can, to avoid "toxic positivity." At least I only make posts around available sources and data, not assumptions.

The B League is actively trying to poach our youngsters and is marketing to the saturated Philippines basketball market btw. Complete with Ateneo Blue San-en uniforms and almost daily Thirdy Ravena updates.

We should wait for EWP official announcement. They seem not worried about Kai. That announcement may blow up in the negatrons faces.

Kai earning atleast around 35m lately. There is demand for kai and the comparison is endless because THERE IS TRUTH TO IT. How deep the resemblance or truth is out of the question but somehow the kid displayed enough to warrant comparison from those who have checked him.lol

We have all the right to question Givony's credential because he is supposedly a prospect evaluator. You should at least know how to play to be good at it. Magiging puro theory at walang experience if he doesnt know how to play katulad ng marami dito.lol that is why his take were mainly physical and statsheet. Those were the obvious but cant clearly appreciate skills.

If someone is really playing bball, one would know how difficult it is to dribble and layup with your left if your right handed. It is also difficult to shoot like steph curry and tear drop like tony parker. It needs form, touch, technique and perfect estimation always.

If you're playing you would know if your opponent is bano, magaling talaga, or matalino maglaro and magaling. Kai is really skilled, very intelligent and so natural in playing bball.

Also, why cant the negatrons use their nicks to post whatever pessimism that is clutting their heads. Arent you tired creating alternicks all the time? If you lose arguments then stop posting here, it is just that some here can defend their stand and you either suck it up or stop visiting this thread.

You could check the comments in this instagram post. Ewp mention Kai's plan here and they dont sound worried.lol everything is part of a well planned path for kai. He will be opening his academy soon and it is too foolish if he wont make the NBA. I wont bet against them.lol kai just recently hoarded atleast around 35m from smart and ignite. They definitely know what their doing. They wont just lie down waiting for draft day and not talk to teams.lol

Hold up with this.. we discussed this before about before someone to comment he needs to play basketball.. sorry to say but that's dumb thing to say. It's not right when you fought several scouts for not including kai and calling givony dumb and stupid and every post it's like you're sending a big F to them because of what they're saying about kai.. lot of people calling you out about this and you still doing it..

Theirs a reason why almost no people posting in this kai thread because of the way you and others post about certain topic about kai.. They're sick and tired of reading your post to be honest..

How can you technically be good in evaluating talent if you havent played the game?lol your take would just be mere assumptions. That is why soldiers train before going to war. If they are battle tested, they become elites and veterans. Would you let your mayor or politician lead you to battle and not a general?lol

Is that a requirement? Some people who are expert in other sports who they never experienced playing the game.. lots of them.. people doesn't need to play the game to be expert in one field..
