Ang hirap puro comment mahina naman sa comprehension!haha Never did I say that Kai would be sure fire ROY because they still need to play and contend for it!lol I always say that Kai is a ROY contender ever since and he has way better chance on my estimate to bag that ROY.lol

Wala akong pake anong place ni Chet sa draft!haha Basta for me at least first round si Kai and most likely OKC will draft Kai.haha Kai will shake that 2022 draft if he bags NBL's ROY!haha Goodluck sa magdadraft Kay Chet!haha He might end up like Bolbol or worst than Bol!haha

I don't think Chet will end up like Bolbol,with a HS level training,he made it to U19,his very first international competition, and he held out better than expected,he adjusted his game.He's well liked by teamates he never played a game his whole life and played with them at their level.The young man is also academically smart,so it won't be a surprised that he spend at least 2 or 3 years in college.Another thing he plays like he likes the game and the challenge,no pressure to make it quick financially.

Kobe still lacks consistency. He follows up a good game with a worse one.

Correct. After 4 games so far it has been a roller coaster ride for Kobe in the B-league. But still, he's playing significantly better than I've expected so far. I wasn't able to watch the game yesterday but based on the highlights & the comments here, it looks like Kobe didn't play that well yesterday.

Kobe actually looks leaner now than in college

He looks leaner,but you can tell the added muscle mass,works whenever he makes contact and finish the shot as well.Wiki page says he weighs 200lbs,but that's like his freaking HS to early college weight,he could be north of 225lbs.

I'm wondering about that too. Is his mother a Japanese citizen? Although Japan is strict about dual citizenship. It requires its dual citizens to chose one citizenship when they turn 21. Which is why Yuka Saso will need to make a choice soon.

By playing as a Filipino in the Asian Games and winning the gold,she's pretty much a Filipino citizen.

I dont expect Kobe to play a monster game each and every game as long as they are getting some wins and hes scoring in double digits every game with 35 to 40 % fg from 2pt and 3pt areas. Im perfectly COOL with that.

Well, for a point guard in this set-up of a league like the B-league where each team plays with 3 world imports, I think we can't expect the point guard to be a heavy scorer. Hence we can't expect Kiefer to average like 18 pts/game. We can't expect Kiefer to deliver the same amount of point that he does while playing for NLEX in the PBA. I think it would still be very very satisfactory for Kiefer to average like 11 pts. per game, what would be more important are things like playmaking, leadership & on how he brings the best out of his teammates, specially the imports. Its not really about the stats eh, but its more on how Kiefer impacts the game.

I am starting to appreciate the value of Kiefer Ravena besides the numbers on the scoreboard. He is an extremely sharp playmaker, the kind of guy that if you give the ball to, you don’t have to worry because 90% of the time he will find the open man in their suitable spots. I think he’s the best value pinoy player in the BLeague rn and well worth the paycheck. BLeague will make our players way more efficient that the pba never could imo, even as rookies I feel that the pressure is there for our players to produce numbers with good efficiency amongst towering foreign imports. In the pba there is no such pressure, you can be as shit as you want and you’ll still get paid. The pinoy BLeague players have mountains to climb to prove that they belong there, to prove to the team owners that they’re a worthwhile investment even when amongst the tough foreign competition(in asian standards) currently playing there and imo this will elevate their standards, I don’t feel that they are competing with the less developed Japanese locals for their place in the team, our players are really competing with the other imports in the league, this is what the free market is all about.

Kiefer's decision making is really exceptional. Between him & Robert Bolick, I think Kiefer is the better point guard at the moment. Kiefer exhibits very good prudence & discipline in his game right now. Bolick on the other hand while highly skilled, a very good scoring point guard & a very good playmaker as well has the tendency to become trigger-happy & a bit imprudent in his shot selection. But of course Kiefer is older & has the more experience overall than Bolick so lets give latter the chance to improve & mature in his game.

I hope this import culture amongst Filipino prospects will continue well into the future, instead of playing in insular leagues, better to enter the market where you can compare yourself to better competition. What I’m waiting for is Kenmark Cariño’s entry into his b2 team, dude is a raw, skinny 6’9 player who’d have to compete in an import dominated position who are usually stronger and more developed, it will be very interesting to see how he develops in the future, I hope he is successful.

Agree. I bet more & more Pinoys will play in the B-league. Not just some current PBA players are expected to decide to play there but current amateur or college players as well. Hope Justin Baltazar, Carl Tamayo, Kevin Quiambao will decide to play there. Maybe Francis Lopez would entertain that B-league option as well.

Kobe take a lot of shots and eats up minutes because he has established himself as one( not to mention jes an import) and hes obviously one of the go-to guys of the team. Coaches trust him so are his teammates. It doesnt matter how many percenteges their trust is, whether it be 80 %, 90 %. It doesnt matter. Its how Kobe plays even way back highschool. But he has added somethings to his arsenal as well (To thos who have been following Kobes career from the very beginning knows what im talking about).

You cant expect the guy to play like Ravena or Kiefer because they play completely different and brings something different to the table. You cant make a basket every single time too and blocks and assists at a consistent rate. Hes not MJ. Hes not Kobe Bryant. Even those guys had bad days in their game. Just because they shoot poorly at a particular game, they are automatically bad players. No. It is what it is. No one can be consistent in terms of scoring, etc every single game. Thats impossible. Sometimes youre hot. Sometimes youre cold. Even though youre feeling good that day. Thats really the nature of it. Bottom line is youre contributing to the teams success.

Just my 2 cents on Kobes performance so far.

I'm confident that as the B-league season progresses, Nigata's coach would be able to utilize Kobe better. The coach would be able to determine Kobe's upsides & shortcomings.

Speaking of Bolick!!! His turn now to entertain offers.. Will he bite or stay put?

How lucrative is the 3-year contract extension
@ThirdyRavenaaa
recently signed with San-En?

"He will never have to worry about money ever again," a Japan B League source told me.

I'm also hearing good things about a certain NorhPort player.

@BabesBolick
, your table is ready.

@Homer Sayson

I really hope that Kiefer will be part of the November window. I know that Tab likes long practice times, but Kiefer at least has bubble experience under his belt with Gilas. He's smart also, and like Kai, he should be able to adjust fairly quickly. The only player in the B league that I am not too sure of is Parks. Not because of his talent, but because, unlike the other B league guys, he has no bubble experience.

If I'm not mistaken Kiefer spent about barely a month in the Gilas bubble training in Calamba last January to February, before that training was called off becoz the 3rd window of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers was postponed from February to June. I think that amount of period that Kiefer spent with Gilas is already good enough for Kiefer to get a grasp of coach Tab's system. Besides, its a process naman eh. The more Kiefer trains & plays with Gilas in each window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers, the more he gets assimilated with coach Tab's system.

might sound crazy, but to me if there is anyone "eligible" who can play in the NBA right now (10 day contract - to play a role), my bet would be Kiefer.

I'm not saying it at all is likely, just saying if it had to pick anyone , Kiefer would be the most possible, however remote.

He will be available by June next year.. With his performance in Shiga, the management will disallow him to join November and February windows...

Doesn't Kiefer's contract with Shiga stipulates that he should be allowed to play for Gilas during the window qualifiers of the 2023 World Cup? During the 2019 World Cup qualifiers, the B-league took a 2-week break in each window to give way to the Japanese national team training & participation in those windows. I think the B-league is a FIBA friendly pro basketball league.

Yung problema lang siguro is the mandatory 14-day or 10-day quarantine period.

This will depend if Japan will require Yuka to provide proof she relinquished her PH citizenship. If not, she'll not lose her PH citizenship even if she elects Japanese citizenship. It's hard to lose your PH citizenship now unlike before. Hehe

technically, Kiefer is on loan to Shiga? (that wasn't communicated by PH media at all) dont ever come back to PBA haha

Nevermind the lifetime ban. Hahahahahaha.

Mukhang patok naman sa mga Hapon si Kiefer. Hahaha

If that's true, take the ban as long as the Japanese like you; spend your entire career abroad, you can play anywhere. Hahahahahahahaha.

But, the PBA, well, right now, their standards are good for a retirement league for our best players. Thing is, they don't want to be a retirement league.

If PBA doesn't mend its ways, it will be reduced to a retirement league sooner than arrogant PBA people expect. And better that way.

For every PBA player that decides to play in Japan, one can sense how Kume Marcial suffers an ache. Buti nga sa kanya. Yan ang bagay sa taong enabler of SMC's wicked acts.

Your expectations were probably very low then. #1 ranked in his class, one of the oldest in the competition got owned by a 17yo old Wembanyama, even by much less heralded Edey. With all those mentioned, Chet should've dominated everyone in that competition. How is making it to the u19 impressive to you when he's 19? 17 year old jalen green made it too and he wasn't even the #1 in his class.

You fail to,mention that Wembayana trains with French NBA players with their off season,while Chet is just a product of a US HS training,never even dreamed that he's good enough to play in international games,but USA basketball thought otherwise,Jalen been playing internationally,starting when he visited the Philippines with other US Filams HS players.Chet has many upsides in him,in his junior season he already have 30 scholarship offers from college basketball programs.He's like a late starter since his biggest career highlights are 2020-21.He was a Gatorade National Player(2021),Morgan Wotten National Player of the Year(2021),Naismith Prep Player of the Year(2021),Mcdonald's All American(2021) to name a few.I wouldn't be surprised if he does finish his college to get a degree,before going to NBA,One thing we have tho a scrimmage game in Gonzaga,versus nothing from Kai yet.https://youtu.be/nGDP3T25UNY
