Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

Only Ignite is directly affiliated with the G league, the others i believe should be independent. I think kai's camp has been unhappy about kai's role under shaw and tension has already been brewing even before kai left to to play for Gilas. And while we are all speculating here, the unexpected development with the OQT has suddenly turned the table for Kai, and that offer from a regular g league team, if true, is another testament that kai has always been on the radar and is still

I'd prefer if Kai stays in the Gleague since he needs to get used to playing against former and current NBA players. He'd also get more exposure playing in the States than in Europe.

Rajko recommends Serbian club KK Mega Basket should Kai's camp explore Europe

For Toroman, signing with the biggest club isn't necessarily the best option for Sotto. Instead, the Serbian shot caller believes a team that focuses on player development would suit him better.

"If he goes to Euroleague seated on the bench, useless," Toroman said.

Toroman even suggested a specific club whose model could help Sotto get to the next level. he caller named KK Mega Basket in Serbia, whose alumni include current NBA players Nikola Jokic, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, and Goga Bitadze.

Their latest product is Marko Simonović, who was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft.

"They play good competition, ABA league, and they practice a lot," Toroman said. "For them the most important (thing) is not the result, they want to produce young players for NBA."

Even if a journey to Europe remains an interesting prospect for Sotto, Toroman believes the people around the young Pinoy hooper will play a critical role on how his career will pan out.

"Like I said, it is about (the) people who advise him and himself," Toroman added. "I think the damage was already made signing for the G League and not playing.

"One more mistake will not be good for his career."

Toroman is correct, if Kai is offered a bench spot in the G League, thats probably better than a bench spot in the Euroleague. Toroman is also correct that Kai doesnt have much more mistakes to make if he wants to make the NBA.

I think people blanket statement Europe when they say Kai is fit for European basketball as if all the European teams play the same which isn’t true. Serbia though would probably fit Kai a little more though he’d have to get tougher

Yeah the level of competition in the gleague is going to be higher, not to mention closer to how the nba plays basketball so he’ll have more to learn in the gleague if he was to develop there.

Corruption is also very high in Serbian leagues. There's a reason most of their prospects end up in Spanish, Turkish, or Greek Leagues.

If anything, I actually want Kai to try the Greek or Italian ball clubs. The competition in Olympiakos and Olympia Milano is just as intense.

Its how Kai asserts himself in a game without losing his style of play while immediately adjusting to his team's game, will he be able to show that he is already NBA level talent. I hope he won't be too deferential nor be too arrogant when he plays with his Gilas mates.

I reviewed some of Kai’s tapes. My take on his chances? He has the fundamentals but up to this time, he is not yet ready for NBA. He is slow, upper body strength is questionable. He has unnecessary body movements and mannerisms that may detriment his progress... I think he has a year or two to correct these issues...

If you posted this a month or two ago, the cancers will attack you. Hopefully theyve seen the light.

Kai and his family should focus on developing his game rather than trying so hard to "chase" the NBA dream especially now that we know that Ignite is more of a place to "showcase" talents than actually developing talents

The NBA dresm will come if he develops his game further. No need to rush, he's young.

I don’t really know much about the way the leagues are run but I look at the track records, the whole Eastern European block in general where guys like Jokic, Porzingis, Doncic come from. Though I would say the Spanish, league in terms of development is generally similar to the American development style. More individual developement

If the NBA is his goal then he'll have to eventually deal with the american style of play. Can he handle the athleticism, faster pace and physicality, "mind games" of American players? Its probably fine playing with Euro dudes or even asians if EWP thinks Kai can take them but if wants to have a bigger challenge this is probably the way to go.

Kai is better off being the best basketball player he can be not whatever unrealistic expectations some fans put on him, a LOT of the toxic environment around the kid comes from that.

Butthurt? I was simply calling you out. If you are still butthurting about the old posts, why are you whining about those here? Go back to the I'm sorry Bryan shaw dumpster. That's where you belong

Im not butthurt about old posts, I was actually welcoming a new development wherein people can criticize Kai's game without posters here getting angry. You got triggered, sorry.

EDIT: Not necessarily angry, more of kontra but still such an environment fosters a toxic environment.

And at the same time you preach it's okay to call others cancer just because you think their posts are unrealistic. Maybe you should have your own thread where one can only posts criticisms. Wla kng utak gago :D

I dont mind praising Kai, I think WCS he challenges Junmar for greatest PBA player of all time. So sad that cancer posters were acting like he was a lottery pick/future NBA hall of famer based on poor knowledge of basketball. Anyway hopefully youve all changed.

EDIT
