I hope Kai will still commit for us this August.. His original plan talaga is yung FIBA Asia cup next month.. Philstar.com and Tiebreaker times already have link of this that Kai committed to Gilas this August.. Although if mag co-commit sya eh sure late comers na naman sya.. But that's OK because he already know the system and he played with this team na.. So may luxury na si Kai to come late...

Kai already have about 3 weeks of Gilas training & actual games from the 3rd window & this OQT. If he comes here from Australia about 10 days prior to the Asia Cup then that's good already.

As I've stated before, its the principle of accumulative Gilas training that Kai can get moving forward to the 2023 World Cup that would make him more & more assimilated with coach Tab's system

15 to 25 min with a decent PG who would know how to pass and teammates who were already mature and heady. I think it would be a much better environment for Kai. Kalevel niya bball Iq ng mga kasam na players

the whole country is full of Point Guards, yet we cant get decent point guards on the national team? This i just cant understand.

Bolick was the point guard on the last world cup team, and he also, did not do very well

Tangna. Padala na yung mga siga at barumbado nating big guards. Yung katulad ni jaworski na hindi mahilig mag chess.

Pinabili lang sa talipapa ng suka at toyo yang rj at sj na mga yan. Biglang sumulpot na lang sa serbia.

Two years of toughening in ANBL will make Kai battle-ready for the NBA and 2023 FIBA World Cup..

Wynne Arboleda?

Parang maganda iyang ideya. Nakakasawa ng tingnan mga guards natin na pangkangkungan lang.

Yan yung maganda pwede pangbasagan ng mukha!haha kahit magkapalit di takot!lol I think Tab playing his favorite cost him a lot this OQT. It boomerang and somehow buti nga na ganun nangyari sa DR game kasi if it was just close and not obvious. We might settle for it. Crucial moment would be this month and next. We will check if he would really upgrade his PG/SG and let go of some of his ADMU boys.

if Tab wont replace Mike RJ and SJ, then wala padin tung kwenta.haha Mideast teams would feast on these guards. DR showed the blueprint on how to break Gilas' spirit. Pero pinakahate ko dito si SJ!haha ewan ko anong issue niya kay Kai pero for these series dalawang assist lang nagawa kay kai 1 for each game sapilitan pa lahat.lol

Politics and Tab playing favorite. I would prefer JGDL. I was really shocked of SJ's inclusion. He wasn't really part of our previous pool and the previous window. Tab just drop Juan and inserted SJ. Matt going down made him a lock afterwards.

First of all lets give him around of applause for his effort and dedication to the national team. This is a great experience for a young player like Kai. Now he knows what he needs to improve. For me it shows he has to master his medium range shots which can be very usefull, and improve his cardio, his body strength, and in the DR game it shows that he has to improve his running speed to chase down fast breaks. Lets hope and pray for his improvement so that he can achieve his NBA dream and lead our country to be number 1 and champion in Asia and top 10 in the world.

nagpabebe si juan by excusing himself in the training for various reasons.

too bad for him, 2 new pgs were added in d pool. 3 if you include heading.

OT but on Juan

However, a dental procedure last January forced him to miss the first nine days of Gilas’ January camp in Inspire Sports Academy. He was also absent the entire March camp of Gilas while recovering from a minor injury and needed to heal first.

In my contract, Tokyo allowed me to play for the national team,” bared the 21-year-old University of the Philippines product to Tiebreaker Times.

I think Gilas needs guards with Juan's physique to have a chance against Latin American teams. Kid's only 21 but he's ripped AF. They should really develop him in being a good defender and playmaker

He's the same age as Belangel AFAIK but they have huge difference is physiques

That SJ to Kai Alley Hoop is the only Time I saw a connection between them.

I hoped it will be a part of offensive play in Asia Cup (Maybe with another pg).

IF KAI WILL PLAY IN AUGUST.

Knowing Kai's love for Country, I think maglalaro pa rin sya sa August for Asia Cup.

Adelaide na rin naman nagsabi na supportive sila with thar Players wanting to represent their countries in Fiba.

This is a good warm up for Kai before going to NBL he just need maging batak sa laro and learn more gulang pa me angas na sya at puso.

If Scouts dont have any idea about Kai. And will only based it here in OQT and 3rd window.

I think they will notice:

1. Kai's passing skills. He doesnt have a lot of assists. But the Passing Skills can easily be seen.

2. Kai's Shooting Form. Kai generally didn't shoot well. His Outside shots did not fall. His Midrange is ok but not great.
But the form and line of shots are ok.

3. Kai's Defense in pick and roll is not great, but it is ok. He was able to contain pnr actions in some occasions.

4. Kai's Motor is different every game. There are games where he is energetic. And others where he doesnt have energy at all.

5. Shown the Perimeter Game in Modern Big Nba. I think this is one of the biggest asset Kai shown to the nba team scouts.
A 7'3 who are capable of coast to coast, driving, and inside game.

6. Rebounding is ok also. In limited munutes, Kai always the top or second top rebounder. But it is expected for a 7'3 player.

As for weakness. Two things are obvious: (stamina and strength)

1. Stamina. There are times na hinihingal sya. Because he is too tired

2. Physical Strength needs to improve. Anyway this can be improve naturally as he grow older. As asians body always developed late.

Hindi Naman.. actually he was shocked that he wasn't invited.. he was supposed to come but tab didn't pick.. I don't know this reasons...

i believe he declined d first invite, the one where some pba players joined.

maybe missed another one after that.

tab probably just gave him a lesson.

He was there nung January.. late Lang dumating.. si Kobe nag back out nun..

still missed d other one. perhaps for reasons not acceptable to tab.

baka pa-vip na.

i am sure he will be invited back for d asia cup if deemed needed.

for d asia cup, im leaning towards kiefer and matt, and one between sj and rj for d 3rd pg role.

pag wla pba players, we can move heading full time sa pg.

For me eh I don't care who will be the guards who will make it to the final line up.. I want those guards to learn how to pass the ball properly to Kai.. Kita advantages natin with Kai if we do likes alley Oop passes eh.. whoever those guards who can make a good chemistry and partnership with Kai eh sya ang the one who will be our lead guard in the future..

kulang lang sa chemistry pa. and both sj and rj are more of d scoring type of pgs.

if anything, we should be happy na sj is starting to learn to set plays and pass better. 17 assists in 2 games vs world-level pgs is not an easy feat. especially for someone with a scorer mentality.

d cohesion with kai would come with more practice and off-court camaraderie building.

what we need is actually a pg who can defend better (e.g. kiefer, cj).
