After Orlando Bubble.

Is it the end of the Ignite????.

No more exhibition games against National Teams or Nba Academies???

As much as I remember prospects signed lasy year around April and May.

So, contract is up to that point only.

Anyway, asf for Kai,if he will leave ignite, or endo in Ignite,

If it is true that he will AUTOMATICALLY ENTER NBA DRAFT, then he should decide asap where will he play

If we really don't want to rush Kai then the more prudent move would've been to go UAAP or US NCAA instead of playing professional in whatever league wherever in the world that may be. Based on his age he still should be in school rather playing professional ball.

Playing in the US NCAA Div. 1 would have been the better option. Of course easy for me to say becoz, just like everyone here, I now have the benefit of a hindsight.

Agree with you, at this age, Kai is better off in school than playing as a pro. I say Kai plays at least 3 yrs in the NCAA Div. 1 school before entering the NBA draft.

Honestly, I don't want to blame anybody for this. I always hate the blaming game. I would rather be interested on what Kai is gonna do after this. What his options are. Better to think something constructive rather than cry over spilled milk.

Obviously, you know that Kai is no longer eligible to play in NCAA the moment he signed and received money from Ignite.

He could do this next September.. Plausible

Plausible. If Kai and his handlers was able to pull a contract with Ignite, I don't see any reason why Kai's camp cannot pull one from NBL.

Can he play in NZ NBL for the meantime? I think that this is the other league Kai can play at. The league's regular season will start on April 24 and will finish July 18 - that will suit, Kai's vacuum sched (which i think it is).

What I was implying is that I have the benefit of the hindsight since it now appears that the move (or the rush) to turn pro is ill-advised.

Actually it's not the move to turn pro or joining Ignite that's wrong, it's leaving Ignite that caused the problem, if Kai trusted the process he could be where Isiah Todd is right now

He might not have been eligible in the first place given his Star Margarine commercial etc.. I don't think they seriously considered the NCAA route

Kai's camp should have learned a lesson from Kobe's stint with Creighton if he trusted the process and stayed after his Freshman season. Minamadali kasi lagi

I really think EWP saw the writing on the wall. They expected Kai to not show much in the G league games. He had a better chance of showing himself off in the Fiba Asia qualifiers.

But their risk assessment was off. They did not consider that the games might be postponed. For Kai's sake I hope they sort this out.

LOL!! Kai’s NBA dream is not yet over, Kai is only 18 years old and will turn 19 this year(May). Even if he will be undrafted in this year’s NBA draft, it doesn’t mean that he can’t play in the NBA in the future. He will be an unrestricted free agent and any NBA teams can get, Kai just need to play in high level competition with decent minutes(22-26 minutes per game) for the next 2-3 years and after that maybe Kai is ripe enough to play in NBA(not only to play but be competitive against established bigmen in the NBA). Kai needs a real competition right now maybe a stint with Gilas in the PBA and in the matches against South Korea and Indonesia, para hindi bumaba masyado ang morale ng bata and bumalik ang kumpiyansa niya sa sarili..

This is the price that Kai have to play for his willingness to play for his country.

This makes me think, if its Ian Sangalang, Rayray Parks or Paul Lee, being in the same situation as Kai, malamang they wouldn't have made what is now being described as an ill-advised move...

...Simply becoz Sangalang, Parks & Lee would be too focus on their NBA dream that they would not even think about playing for the country at all.

Maybe that would be the advantage of being unpatriotic.
Too bad, Kai isn't unpatriotic.

This is not an issue of player(s) being patriotic or not. His agent made bad planning that affected kai’s chances of playing in the gleague bubble. Most of the posters here are blaming his handlers. Simple as that.

Hassan Whiteside a former one-and-done star at mid-major Marshall University(former teammate of Chris Lutz), his journey to NBA stardom came the other way around: Second-round draft pick of the Sacramento Kings who eventually cut him followed by five stints in the D-League, two trips to China and two more to Lebanon, and eventually was signed by the Miami Heats. So Kai Sotto playing in China, Japan, Spain and a call-ups by Gilas for major tournaments for the next 2-4 years will make him ready for the NBA..

Kai is still young and has a lot of moves available to him still. Id argue though that Kai should try to fix whatever relationships he hurt with his past moves as well as get better advice, ideally from people who truly have his best long term interests at heart.

SBP to blame.....their goal shouldnt be short term but long term....and they should also think about the best development of the players....Kai would have been better playing for the G League rather than playing in FIBA qualifying rounds.

Baka naman may alam ang EWP na di natin alam? Maybe some teams from the NBA assured EWP that they'll draft Kai so they did what they did. Baka sa huli, genuis pala sila, tayo ung katawa-tawa? #WishfulThinking
