The only problem really is the San Miguel Bloc and its lapdog Commisioner Marcial. Effin Hypocrites! Pero yung kay TIm Cone barely 1 week from the finals pinahiram lahat. walang pagod pagod.

lol alfrancis chua >>>>> al panlilio not only in sports but in management as well, panlilio just kisses ass

Gilas Pilipinas head coach Jong Uichico beamed excitement over the arrival of Kai Sotto as they ramp up their preparation for the third window of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers from 16 to 20 June in Clark.

Uichico said the 7-foot-3 Sotto can still join the team despite doubts due to his late arrival from the United States.

Sotto arrived by his lonesome late Monday and would undergo a 14-day hotel quarantine before being allowed to join the team in the prestigious Asian tourney.

Although time is running out as the earliest that he would be out of quarantine is 14 June, Uichico said the best part is that he is already here and he can train with Gilas Pilipinas in preparation for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade from 29 June to 4 July.

“It’s good that he made it here safely. We are waiting for him to clear all protocols then we will take it from there,” Uichico told the Daily Tribune.

Uichico said he is not entirely closing his door on the possibility of having the 19-year-old phenom in their lineup in the Asian tilt.

“We will have to see how much he (improved) when he is able to practice already.”

In a previous interview, Sotto reiterated his excitement to join the team soon and assured his commitment whether he can immediately join the qualifiers or not.

“It’s my very first time to play for the national team, I’m very excited to finally be with them,” Sotto said.

“(Things) might depend on the possible changes that could come, but I’m always ready to play as long as I’m still here in the country.”

Gut feeling is he will be lined up...

O hayan ha coming from the HC...

The problem is the whole PBA and majority of the issue lies with both SMB and MVP groups. I cant remember if SMB were also poaching players when they were at the helm of our NT. Natitira ko lang ang mvp group these days kasi sila ang in charge.hehe a governing body should be for all and not self serving.

These days I am leaning with SMB mainly because of RSA. He has been very generous and very helpful in nation building. Madami kasing nagawang maayos SMB these days.

I still believe they will still include kai in the line-up. maybe blind optimism.

Because of these stringent restrictions, the earliest Sotto can emerge from quarantine is on June 14 - or two days before Gilas Pilipinas plays in the third window of the Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers inside the Clark bubble in Pampanga.

It is this very small window for preparation that will likely discourage SBP program director Tab Baldwin from calling up the 7-3 Sotto for the Clark qualifiers.

Eight visiting nations, namely Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand in Group A; China, Japan, and Chinese Taipei for Group B; and Guam and Hong Kong for Group C, will be arriving in the country on June 13.

Edit: Fully vaccinated an si kai. but rules are rules. and safety first.

this is good news if kai is fully vaccinated. they can actually write a letter of permission from IATF actually to have him out once the test is negative.

You keep bringing up Kai. Looks like you're the cocksucker here....Long Hair's cocksucker Tae este Trae Young :)

wahahaha di yan papalag pre. :) Anyway I'm content to wait for the games actually. Except that Marcial gets to me coz he is such an idiot actually with everything he is saying. Malaki siguro talaga ang tinatanggap nito promise. Putek contract buyout lang pinapalagan eh standard na ginagawa ito in any business transaction. For example when a promising player's contract in the Euro League is being bought out by an NBA team. Wala naman illegal dito for as long as magkasundo yung teams.

Guys I just have a question. Is Kai really 7'3? I've seen a video of him in Miami playing against former NBA player Anzejs Pasecnics in one of Coach Remy's workout. The guy is listed at 7'2 when he was drafted by Washington. He seemed taller than Kai in the video. I'm just wondering if Kai is really 7'3.

We'll have to wait till Kai gets measured in the combine like Pasecnics

The last public measurement of him barefoot,he was just a tad over 7'1 and he was already 17,he might have hit 7 1/2 and that would be considered 7'2 his former teamate in HS Jordan was 7'3 and you can clearly see on some pics and videos that Jordan is over an inch taller,he's billed sometimes 7'4 because they measured players with their shoes on.

if we can arrange tune up games in Clark after the official 3 games , maybe thats were Kai can get burn and break into the system .

The "Smart"est thing to do , to appease fans who want to watch kai play in Gilas is for the SBP to host a tune-up game ( after 3rd window) in clark with one of the foreign national teams ( Guam etc?) . Smart . EWP and Gilas can rake in the broadcast revenue excusively for the "exibition " game.. parang last stand gimick lol//
they don't have to share the revenue with FIBA , as it's outside of the window games.
