I hope they televise his games in Australia. NBL is one of the best leagues in the world. I hope his coach give him some playing time just what they did to John Mooney.

it televised in sbs on demand website, nbl tv, sbs tv(weekends) and espn on cable

John Mooney plays for Perth Wildcats not Adelaide 36ers..

Oh yeah. Just realized it yesterday.

I can watch Kai now in television.

Can't wait for next season NBL.

As for kai 3rd window issue, about 20 days na lang naman, and we will know what is the answer to most of our questions.

simple.. kai is no other player. he needs to earn that spot.. no exceptions.. even kabayan clarkson needs to earn his.. no special treatment needed for kai.. even the PBA players need to earn that spot.. that’s why tab set guidelines and that’s why tab said 3 weeks. i don’t think EWP is disappointed..

and going back to february window, SBP didn’t know that kai is coming. so yeah SBP is at fault for EWP pulling out kai during the middle of ignite preparation for gilas stint. SBP has no fault on that one..

Kai is not an ordinary gilas player. He is projected the best big in Asia, possible the best asian player after some years and the first phil NBA player. An 18 yr old jordan wasnt even considered as a gilas player. Also, a more seasoned Kai around 23 would be pretty scary and too difficult to stop.

Even BRP was too difficult to acquire for Gilas then just how much more a very in demand Kai Sotto. 18 yr old JC didnt have the same marketability and demand of an 18 yr Kai.

Kai isnt asking for special treatment. He was just too committed to a lot of important things. Gilas needs to give ample leeway and stop their ways of being too demanding. That is very simple. He is not the same with every gilas player and we should all accept that moving forward.

- Tab's statements came 3 years ago - when Kai was a kid. He is just a raw talent with potential even until today.

- May I ask you what Kai is currently doing? He is undergoing specialized individual trainings, isn't he? That was what Tab was saying in this article.

- He has a point because if you can bring the best trainers and skills coaches here, why go abroad? And this is what exactly Kai is currently doing. If he is eligible to play NCAA, may be I will disagree with Tab but he is not eligible.

Tab's statements were so bad because it would just limit Kai's potential. Kai was never raw talent wise.lol Kai is physically weak at that time but talent wise was mile ahead than competition. He won asian youth MVP at 15 against 16yr olds. Was offered a lot by euroteams at that age.

Phil setting and Tab by a mile wont give the environment that would be best for Kai. Tab just stated that so he will have Kai as an ADMU player. Kai would have excelled in both europe and US. He have proven that he excelled in the US even if it was supposed to be deem not more suited to Kai.

We should open our mind that Kai is a top tier world class athlete same with pacquiao, wesley so and efren reyes.

You should get used to it. Teams from around the world were offering him money eversince and that is a testament of his talent and value.

SBP is now demanding? is tab setting guidelines a demanding? yes kai will be our hugot someday but as tab said at least 3 weeks.. and earn that spot. kai is same as other player who is trying to earn a spot. no special treatment here..

kabayan is already in the radar for gilas as early in his teens. if the u18 2010 was held in other country then kabayan would've been local

He was in the radar but was not heavily pursued. We have a lot of players with his skillset. He might mean an upgrade at that time but it doesnt follow that he cant be replicated. A 19yr old Kai would be way more valuable than a 19yr old JC to gilas as a team. A lot here should stop whining about Kai being unavailable. Tab setting conditions is really the deal breaker. Gilas is just one of Kai's option and commitments. He cant forego everything just to cater to Tab and gilas. His NBL stint, individual trainings and NBA dream is way valuable than Gilas. Gilas and Tab would need to either accept it and try to negotiate Kai's time or go on with things and set their conditions to players who were more available.

do you know who host the 2010 u18 asiad? Yemen.. A war torn country. that's why we don't have any fil-foreign players on that squad.. who in that 2010 batch as the same skillset as 6'5 clarkson?

it's not a deal breaker that tab set.. if he doesn't come in then fine, tab will continue prepare his players for the upcoming tournaments and will not complain about it..

6'5 arvin tolentino has lesser skillset but would be okay. I dont know if he is 19 during that time but we can usually produce 6'4 to 6'6 with guard skills. They might not be as good as JC but they would suffice.

Kai returning early would be similar to his ignite debacle. You dont abruptly cut your dealings with a very well connected and famous NBA trainer. Tab insisting an earlier time for Kai just proves that he doesnt care about Kai's NBA dream.

There are so many wrong things in this post..

Arvin Tolentino played PF/C at HS. He's listed at 6'4 but is probably closer to 6'3. In no way was he able to play as a wing in 2010. In fact he wasn't even in team A's lineup. That was the Baser, ,Javier, Gotladera, era. Trust me I watched almost all of his games at HS. Even now he won't be able to play as a wing.

Arvin was recruited by US NCAA teams because his skillset could transistion to a wing or a stretch four but most likely a wing or might even a guard. JC is also just around 6'4. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/uaap-women/red-cubs-star-tolentino-mulls-offers-to-try-out-for-ncaa-powers-duke-rhode-island?ref=article_tag

He was offered to try out with no guarantee of making it in the final cut. This was brought up here a lot of times before. Have you watched him play now and in HS? He's a stretch 4 RDO nga most common comparison. It's already a stretch to make him play the SF. He's slow and unathletic and lacks ball handling, motor and defense.

In 2010 our most hyped Wing was Ferrer who forgot how to play when he entered college..

He was recruited by NCAA teams to be a wing. He wont make the cut as a PF in US ncaa setting. Ferrer would also be a JC replacement during their teenage years.

I will stand with my take that a 18 or 19 yr old Kai would be more valuable to gilas than JC at the same age. Current JC is an elite player but Kai could also become one hopefully.

That was a long shot. He won't even make the cut here as a wing.. Ferrer was once a very highly south player on the level of Kiefer coming out of HS. That was before he started regressing yearly in college.

Probably but it's tough to top JC's career. You don't normally see Asian players winning 6moy awards playing for the top team in the NBA. You really have to be in the right situation aside from being skilled. Everything has to go right in your career

Current JC has reach his max potential. Kai has a long way to go but at the same age Kai has better upside.

Do you mean when he left college*? Kevin Ferrer was actually pretty good during his college days. Hot shooting, decent handles for a 6’4 Forward.

Also I agree Arvin Tolentino now is really in the mold of a stretch 4. But if he did continue his path to the states IMO he would have been a decent wing player. Just IMO.

He steadily regressed IMO. He was even doubted the Ray Parks stopper his first few years but I dunno what happened to his game. He lost his handles and started taking terrible shots. Remember he played so bad he was even accused of game fixing..

Arvin is another guy who could have been so much more. He was a 4/5 in HS but he had a good ahooting touch and handles. For a guy his size. If he did try out on those schools he would have to fork out a lot of money with no assurance that he'd be included in the final lineup. Huge gamble for someone who's from a not so well off background.
