Hello to All! What a nice surprise to see my son Jordan mentioned here at this site! I'll tell you a little about my son. Jordan is "tisoy"..lol! My husband is from Quezon City and I am from Seattle. We have four sons. Two play basketball. Joe is a senior. 6'1" and is a senior in high school. He plays varsity. His little brother Jordan recently turned 14 and is 5'11 and plays for two teams as well as since he was a 7th grader played at tournaments w.ith the local high school. He plays for an elite travel team in Seattle named Emerald City Basketball. He is being looked at by area high school coaches. He was invited again to attend the Adidas Phenom 150 National Exposure camp which he will attend in June 2010. The top 150 high school boys in the US come by "invitation only". He is a SG\Pg but plays all positions. He is in 8th grade. He trains at Emerald City and also with Erroll Knight a former Gonzaga University Alumni player. He has just been referred to another trainer who also scouts for NBA I was told. Jordan lives and breathes basketball...its his life..lol! He has very has very serious goals to play College ball and works very hard to obtain that goal. I am in the process of making a current highlight reel to put on a web page sometime soon. He says he plans to be the first Filipino in the NBA! :)

Plz do so MAM amd btw welcome to the Forums...:):):)

Yeah I mean UV not VT.. just watch UNC and VT kasi..hehehe...
Bobby is going to be a great Div 1 player for sure but playing time would be questionalble in Memphis and he will end up as bench player for many years since all the best player in tennessee is choosing the Tigers.. sometimes you can get more exposure in school like UV.. Sr is not Jr... here are some facts why should rayray choose other school other than memphis.. but in the end it is his decision and i will support him all the way as a fellow filipino..

Here are some Players that are rated by Scout and Rivals that is committed to memphis for 2010.. Not to mention the transfer of his cousin Soph Elliot Williams to the tigers this year who is a 5 star PG from duke.. the highlighted positions is the possible position that rayray can play.. look at the rankings in the position.. while rayray is not even in the top 150 or even 200..

SG "1" Will Barton

Players from 2011 class is not included and the Players on the Current Roster who i believe are all quality and Experience players..

Sometimes in recruiting it is important to look in the positioning as i have learned when i worked for La Times via a CSR.. i know a lil bit about recruiting specially in the west coast..

Will Barton I think is a one and done player, after next year season he will be in the NBA...

J.Jackson will stay 2 years in College...same with Kendrick

Tarik, Chris, Antonio and Hippolyte are 4 year players...

Ray is a high major player, there's a lot of mid-high major schools tracking him...this year is the year where he can sign his LOI, I'm excited for that..

Your recruitment list is spot-on, except for Jelan Kendrick, who is listed as a shooting guard by ESPN.com. Notice also that while there are seven commits for Memphis in 2010, they will be losing four seniors (two guards/two forwards) after March, then another three juniors (two guards/one forward) in 2011. One cannot also tell if someone on the current Memphis lineup will transfer out or get dismissed from the team.

But I have to agree with the Virginia option. They have only five commits for 2010, and will be losing five players this year and four next year. However, one of the 2010 commitments is a small forward.

At this point, though, it is a bit too early to predict where Ray Parks will go. As it is, his ESPN profile doesn't show anyone in the radar. I was thinking of Memphis as the logical choice, should they choose to recruit him, mainly because of 1) the Bobby Parks connection, and 2) Elliot Williams.

Great Point.. No question he can be in Memphis with all his backers.. question is if the coach really likes him and will use him in the long run.. no doubt about his ability and upside we can just all hope he can improve to his maximum ability..

He might be Pinoy also ...maybe you can help me confirm this one :)

it would be greatly appreciated if you are going to post your prospects that you give us a way to contact the said player or anyone connected to him .... email address and phone numbers would do.

Once you are born in Germany, both parents could even be foreigners, and you would still be entitled to receive the german passport.
That I know for sure since my daughter is also German, althought her mother is Pinay.

Bradley by the way also had german roots - the only player where I ever got a stiff neck looking up to (and I'm 6'9'' myself). A very nice guy by the way.

Filipinos here in the Forum tend to target everyone who's surname may sound Filipino and is proven to be able to hold a ball, particularly when he's above 6'0''. :D

is that what you call a nice guy mr bsgermany on preventing us to get Standhardinger.. let him decide where he wants to play...:D

Read first before you comment - with the "nice guy" I refered to Shawn Bradley. ;)

By the way, I don't need to prevent anyone from getting Standhardinger, 'cause neither you nor me or anyone else in this forum will decide that right?
I still hope though that he will stay where he always was and remains a german player with filipino roots. Since he's with Nebraska, he's raising interest here in Germany too. ;)

e2 a quote from sir nardy

I think at 14 Jordan is a little too young for the U18 that is being formed this year but I think when he turns 15 and grow a few inches bigger your son could be ripe for the U16 Team Pilipinas that would play in the 2011 FIBA-Asia Championships. Suggest you update us of his progress thru official statistics and game videos but the question is would he be available for the tournament proper and trainings as there might be some conflict in schedule in his schooling. The U16 FIBA-Asia usually happens around November. A Youth invitational tournament that's actually held to help prepare might be on October. If ever, would your boy be available for at least 3 to 4 months so that he can familiarize with the Coach's system and also bond with his team mates.

it would be greatly appreciated if you are going to post your prospects that you give us a way to contact the said player or anyone connected to him .... email address and phone numbers would do.

sir,

How I wish I could but I couldn't find his personal email address nor his phone no., I only rely on Google's search results. No facebook nor Myspace.

Maybe some of our Fil-Can forumers here can lend their helping hand :).

By the way, have you checked his videos? What's your evaluation?

Rafe Bartholomew talks Krypto-Nate with Jannelle So

Rafe Bartholomew quickly parlayed his star turn in Quinito Henson’s column into an interview with former PBA courtside reporter (and crush ng bayan) Jannelle So, who now hosts Kababayan LA, a talk show for Filipino-Americans in southern California.

In the interview, Rafe gets tongue-tied when asked what it would take for Nate Robinson to become eligible to play for the Philippine national team. He also confirms that people from the SBP have been in touch with Robinson’s camp.

I have some questions, none of which really relate to Rafe:

  1. Ria Tanjuatco or Jannelle So?
  2. When you think about it, isn’t Lia Cruz basically Jannelle 2.0?
  3. In the opening billboard of the video, why is Jannelle dressed like she’s going to Hollywood Boulevard to turn tricks after the shoot? Was it ‘Pretty Woman’ night?

Here are pictures of the lovely Jannelle:
