there is still a chance for 17 yr. old Dylan Pizarro Harper to play as a local even though he already played for USA U19 team in a sanctioned event,
for as long as he obtain a PH passport while he is in his teen hopefully not on his 23rd birthday to avoid any difficulty.
Fil-Am JJ Mandaquit has the same case, wherein he already played for USA U16 but already obtained a PH document before his 16th birthday hence he is still eligible to play as a local in the Senior level if the NSA of the country are serious to include him in the next cycle.
first is to obtain a PH passport.
second coordinate and send a formal letter to USA Basketball for such request and when the two NSA agreed then
third submit those agreed document on FIBA technical committee for processing.
fourth the FIBA Sec Gen will evaluate the documents before signing the transfer.
if only Jalen Green and Kamaka Hepa had the same process, anyway, past is past.
now the stakeholders are fully aware now about the above options.
the bottomline now is does the Mother Maria Pizarro and family alongside SBP are serious for such thing?
abangan ang susunod na kabanata.
I hope SBP pitch playing for Gilas for both brothers. i think Dylan is better but him having a spot in the US senior team looks iffy with a lot of similarly skilled players at his position are still young (but older than him). if he can become local and RHJ somehow cant be, i dont mind RHJ being our NP. he is roughly same size as JB. JB is better offensively at the moment but RHJ has shown both in college and g league that he has what it takes to be a multi level scorer and in my opinion is a better defender than JB. if both brothers play, i think that would be great for Gilas. we would be relying a lot of rebounding and inside D to Kai and AJ but I think that would be a good trade off.
Jordan Brand All Star Game for HS boys just concluded. Dylan Harper's team won and he was awarded the MVP. In a game with the likes of future-lottery pick Cooper Flagg, Harper was clearly the best player. Players were all giving him the ball and clearing out while his opponent Flagg took the responsibility of guarding him.
He has size, physicality and swag.
