yep prolly rike is eligible and the list also include remy martin so that further proves that remy martin is eligible. he can play this year for our u18 team in 3x3 and 5x5..

I'd like to convince myself that Remy Martin is 100% eligible, but I think kailangan siguruhin talaga ng SBP na eligible nga sya.

It was said kasi that Remy Martin got his Philippine passport at the age of 16 years old. Problem is, "Hagop rule" states that a player should obtain passport "before" his 16th birthday. But I read from somewhere that if a player applies for passport before his 16th birthday & the passport is issued "after" his 16th birthday, then that player will be considered eligible.

Coach Chot & the SBP have to clear things with FIBA or FIBA Asia. Mabuti na yung klaro ang lahat.

Among the locally trained players in that list, I think only Sinclair & Tuffin who hasn't really made enough impact in the college level. I know Tuffin had some moments of brilliance with FEU this season but he's already 20 years old (turns 21 this May). I mean for his age, Tuffin should be playing better than that, just my opinion. On the other hand, Juan Gomez-De Liano (1GDL) is only 18 years old & is only a rookie, yet he was more impressive than Tuffin this season.

we’ll see this coming season. mostly FEU products are late bloomers and they are not heavy recruits coming from HS he still have 3 more playing years (including 2018). we never know if he will get better or not

just talked to some of the players named to the 23 man pool, regardless where this leads even if they're not selected eventually, this is indeed a proud moment to even be mentioned.
talked to some of those who gave inputs into selection and i really see where they're coming from, the list to me is more about potential of what they can be rather than what has been accomplised already

He was supposed to play for DLSU a few years back, but choose US NCAA when he got offer from D1 teams.

Among Rike's suitors here, it was NU who was closest to landing him. However, he got accepted to Wake Forest based on his academic record alone and is most probably getting some form of financial aid there. He enrolled as a regular student then made it to the team as a walk-on after open tryouts.

No Encho serrano??

Well from this 23 list lets see who will make the cut / Even make a pba career. Lets come back after `23

as chot mentioned, it's not the final list... a lot will be added for sure, some will be dropped depending on how they develop until 2023....

plus, guys like kiefer, pogoy, jalalon, junemar and other cadets are still in the mix come 2023

No Ricci Rivero and Jeron Teng. Baldwin should train these kids, not Chot.

LOL @ Arvin "Benta" Tolentino and Abu Tratter

No Encho serrano??

3

Serrano cannot play PG and is really too small as a SG internationally, his outside shot is also suspect. Internationally 1GDL is a better prospect. Yes Ricci not being there is a surprise, if ever i think the thing with Ricci is he's more of wing than a guard. for a wing again internationally he looks a little small. Why Revena then , i think thirdy's built can take the hits

Why Alejandro? He is smaller than Ravena and probably as tall as Ricci?

If they are looking for potential rather than accomplishment. They should include the rest of the U-16 squad especially padrigao, I also like Matt Aquino to be included . Anyways besides this wish list, do they have a plan with this pool, i mean are we going to see them train and compete anytime soon?

As long as the coach and patron of the national teams are Ateneans (and the patron himself supports their college team as well), DLSU will never “cooperate”.

It’s a freakin conflict of interest. Find another coach and patron not connected to Ateneo. Better yet, form a body that handles the NT selection for both players and coaches.

i dont think so. dlsu would always keep its assets close and protected. regardless of who handles the national team dlsu will always be.

It's six years from now, so maybe Ricci will have graduated and pried himself lose from the DLSU /SMC empire.

Oh, shit. I just realized what happens if AJ winds up playing for La Salle?
