As per Naveen Ganglani:

Chot on making the Olympic qualifiers:
I still don't know if I'm going to be here for that. I might have coached my last game already as Gilas-Pilipinas coach.

Please be true this time lol

This must be late and must have been posted, but dang, did you guys see Abando slam it with 2 hands almost from a stand still? dude is 6’2” at best. What a vertical, he’s a dog too. His blocks are awesome.

According to Enzo and Tiebreakertimes, it's confirmed.

Good riddance if true.

Dont know why they cant beat Mexico.

RHJ deserved a win.

Freddy Ibrahim was injured and didn’t play, but more importantly:

Same problems they had against Egypt: a thin front court.

Egypt and Mexico have solid front court rotations, while Jordan only has Al-Dwairi.

BREAKING: After Gilas Pilipinas victory over China, SBP to extend Chot Reyes' contract until 2033!

Silver lining for this tourney—we identified two more rotation players for Gilas in Edu and Abando. Edu is a starter while Abando is good for 12-18 mpg range. I’m just happy that Abando showed he is now playable as a 2 and no longer an undersized 3.

I don't think we've ever beaten China's team A since the 80s. This is a pretty historic achievement despite losses in the first round.

"There are so many powerful teams that didn't advance. Pero sa Pilipinas, bawal matalo eh."

Coach Chot Reyes was candid about his reason for stepping aside as the head coach of Gilas Pilipinas.

Reyes has been the center of criticism and blame for Gilas' four consecutive losses at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. On their last game, Gilas defeated China, 96-75.
