I think it will be different if the arenas will be filled by those ultras fans… especially against Angola and SSD that not experienced that kind of environment.. they will be out of focus and distracted… but again, SBP failed to maximise every opportunity we have…

seems tat SBP only had 2 goals in this WC

1.) make sure that the single game attendance record is broken
2.) ensure that FIBA officials, teas and their entourage are happy

the audience of Gilas are not the diehard Gilas fans but the A list of Philippine society, as if its the President's SONA!.
 
If SBP wanted a good crowd, give all the tickets to Ginebra fans. LOL

I find it funny how almost all the fans wore Gilas shirts and jerseys only to watch a movie. Pinayaman lang nila yung Merch seller.

I recall reading somewhere (probably in one of those random FB threads) wherein some Filipinos going to the venue were ranting why security did not allow them to bring any type of noise-making props but then proceeded to question how it was different with the other foreigners' drums which was allowed. Where's the consistency if true?

Honestly, I never even bothered watching a live Gilas game because I'd imagine people there are more tense and anxious given our play rather than excited anyways lmao.

Chot probably thought that he and Gilas could ride JC's back similar on how Luka is carrying Slovenia. Aside from Slovenia having a decent talent pool, Luka is a top 5 nba player now while JC, despite being a fomer 6th MOTY, is a quality role player at best (in the NBA of course , and it shows that he is not used to being the main focal of offense)

Tbh I expected this Canada always under performs

Canada has no big man who can secure rebounds offensively Brazil did a good job of disrupting Canada’s off ball movement.
 
Sunday will be big for basketball fans… 4 matches are all do or die…. I don’t see this one before… international basketball become more unpredictable these days… even team USA given hard time by Montenegro…

never been a fan of JC's game to be honest, when he was traded to the Cavs instead of being a helpful bench scorer he turned into being a no defense black hole in the offense guy, Lue did not even bother to use him in the playoffs, it just happened that he got the perfect spot and role with the Jazz, he is not the kind of a guy that add quality to a winning type of basketball, when he was with the Lakers they were on a rebuild and not even making it to the playoffs, with Cavs Lue got his ass seat on the bench in important games, while with the Jazz they got spanked by Dallas even with Luka not playing the first few games of the first round, i am not surprised on how things will look like when Gilas decided to bring him as the naturalized player, i even think that if it's Tab who is coaching the team he may choose another naturalized player instead of him
 
Some people think Canada tanked the Brazil game on purpose for bracket positioning purposes. True or not, those do or die games should be fun either way. Leggooo

Let's not rail on Clarkson here, he did the best with what he was given. Chot's system obviously just expected way too much of him like it did when Blatche was still the import and Blatche's gilas started losing game after game past 2016. It's simply the asa sa import system, they're using these imports like water buffalos instead of just really good players you can lean on in clutch situations, if anything Chot really should stick to farming where he can actually use real water buffalos instead of coaching human beings.
