The fans aren’t dumb of what’s happening with SBP.. even how F***** the federation is, the fans still support the team.. I already expecting the BOOOOs prior to world cup and it was heard in bigger stage. Don’t care what kabayan, abando and kiefer has to says. Chot and SBP deserves that boooo’s.

For me, with US about to sweep their group, the only remaining teams that have a legit shot at getting with the Americans are as follows:

1. Canada - Comparable to an NBA team since majority of players came from the NBA. Familiarity against the US is not a concern as they constantly play with these Americans all season long. With Steve Nash being the counterpart of Grant Hill in overseeing the operations of Team Canada, I don't think that they will let USA to win just like that.

2. Australia - Same with Canada, the Boomers also consist of NBA players with considerable playing time. Familiarity should not be a concern to them. However, the team tends to slack off on games they should win.

3. Spain - The team may only Usman Garuba, the Hernangomez bros. and Santi Aldama as their NBA players but talent should not be a concern here. Rather, the system of Coach Scariolo should be one to watch out.

Sir I thought Eric Gordon already taken that naturalized spot, if ever that rumors becomes a reality it would be unprecedented as far as FIBA eligibility rules are concern because as per provision, players who already turned 23 and already played for a sanctioned tournament may not be able to play for another federation however, the exemption would be granted if both National Federation agrees for such transfer but he/she will occupy that naturalized spot. Now if idol Klay and Eric Gordon acquired their respective Bahamas passport when they are still in their younger years(before 16) I dunno the rulings if they would get an exemption on this.(Just like the case of the JJ kid).

only way for this to happen if FIBA gives a Nigeria type exception to Bahamas , but for the balance of FIBA Americas, i dont want this to happen, Eric Gordon is enough

does the fact that klay's daddy is bahamian count for anything?

so basically you're saying that you don't want chot and sbp to succeed during this world cup?

seems like pinoys would really bring a sinking ship down rather than help an incompetent captain and crew steer it afloat till it reaches port.

I thinks it's more of getting rid of an incompetent captain that is further damaging the ship and getting us nowhere near our destination,,,let the ship get lost a little bit,,,and then getting a new competent captain (who is already in the ship) that can fix the ship and steer us to the right direction.

Not sure about Oz. They lost against Germany. Patty Mills is not as unstoppable as before. Not sure Giddy can can get id done.

does the fact that klay's daddy is bahamian count for anything?

This is probably the biggest factor. Not sure how FIBA will make this work, not sure if Gabe Vincent or Jordan Nwora got their Nigerian passport at age of 16, but if FIBA will grant Klay a exemption, its under the guise of bball development

Hope they grant us this exemption by virtue of SBP being incompetent hahahaha

I have an honest to goodness question and hopefully get an honest to goodness answer.. let's just say we retain the result and performance Gilas had against Dominican Republic and Italy, which we weren't really blown out and were competitive. But the difference is we won against Angola.. we still didn't go to the second round.. Is it still the same angst against chot reyes?

I mean, I think that was the expected result, hope to win Dominicana, WIN Angola, more likely lose to Italy..

just curious.. because it seems we were hoping to win all games, which makes us the top team in group A, unbeaten.. that is unprecedented in Asian basketball..

I wonder if deep down,Kai Sotto knew he peaked already and decided to milk this basketball career as much as possible, just be a journeyman,he'll play another Summer League and might even make it to Gleague but beyond that its a crap shoot.

I highly doubt as well na rin naman na with his showing and the recent fiasco na pahirapan makuha, that SBP would still move heaven and earth plus PAY him just to secure his services.

He will probably get the same treatment that Romeo had. BLACKLISTED.

So hopefully, SBP is appealing Kouame’s case to be a local player

if that happens our frontcourt is secured.

For NP, I want a tall do it all forward like Rondae Jefferson

these 3 comes to mind

Chris Mccolough
Terrence Jones
Quincy Miller

Previous names floating included Thomas Bryant, Noah Vonleh, and DJ Wilson.

Nakakadiri panoorin si JC meaning how is this guy a 20 ppg NBA scorer? Lousy handles, poor court vision, madali ibody check, walang twitch yung galaw, puro kanan lang. Bat mas dominante at effortless pa tignan si Edwards of Sudan and an nba reject in Rondae? It’s like ordering in Shopee, you thought you’re getting a shiny new toy, only to be disappointed because you’re getting a dirty defective one. Scammed.

Angola coach on naturalized players

"But I don't believe this is correct, and I really think that FIBA must stop this as soon as possible. Otherwise, in some years, there will be no local product. Each country needs to develop their own players. This is what I think. There are players that don't even speak the language of the country that they represent. There are countries which have seven, eight player that were born outside that country."

in addition Coach Canlas also mentioned this

"We have to create point guards with size,"

This Angolan coach talks alot. Woah.

But Australia has the personnel to beat this USA team. Germany can hang but they will come up short again to the against Americans.

“Last game we couldn’t make our shots, and now we faced a team that made all of their shots,” Reyes added about the Azzurri, who suddenly switched the lights against Gilas after a horrendous outside shooting in their first two games against Angola and Dominican Republic, respectively.

Chot is the master of palu-chot. Italy got hot because we insisted on playing JF major minutes even if it was clear any defensive scheme with him on the floor would lead to an open 3. Just admitting that they had defensaive lapses causing Italy to get hot would have sufficed

yes. you can check my previous posts that im not really against CCR. i just dont like the drama he brings. but, he has become the embodiment of the hatred of the pinoy fans at basketball. it may be wrong, but its has gone over the normal sports hatred. pati suot pinatulan.

same result, even the Angola game, but lets say coach was coach Pido Jarencio. pretty sure we will all be disappointed but we'll have a laugh with PPP and be thinking how the games were closer as expected and how we can build on it. if it was CTC, from the get go, fans will be like "i told you so", he modified triangle to make it work. etc etc. The team did well. CCR was his old self and was able to motivate his players to be better. and as per Coach Rajko, this is the best team we will be sending. but... ayun na nga, the hatred that boiled thru the last 2 years atleast, was just there. kinda sad. even if we appreciate what the players done, aside from the heartache of the games im pretty sure they get affected as well when fans hit on CCR.

I remembered this quote from Coach Tab (after Gilas' loss to Serbia a couple of years ago) while anticipating Coach Chot saying that at least we didn't get blown out in our first three games in the WC:

“A lot of people will look at this as some sort of moral victory. I’ve been in this game for such a long time and I just don’t believe in those."

chot's goose was cooked the moment he accepted the gilas coach and program director roles

In fairness, when Tab was coaching Gilas with college kids, almost everyone looked good. For some reason, with Chot coaching, even NBA players like Jordan look bad.

because i am with you, i think the hatred against CCR is overboard na. I mean I do not like him, I really wanted Tab to be retained, though I think there are much better options out there still.. but I think it is out of the norm as you have said. I will still feel disappointed with the loss against DR and Italy, but not mad.. Today, everyone is MAD AS HELL..
