Haven't posted in awhile. Tough Loss for us.
Anyway, if we are talking about what ifs, I think Tab would have chosen this roster.

Perez
Ramos
Parks
JC

TBH, it doesn't matter now at this point, but CCR is really thick-faced. Any other basketball federation would have been axing him by now, but no, he is allowed to make unlimited mistakes; it doesn't matter if he loss in the SEA games, ordered his players to shoot their own hoop or instigated a brawl and many many many more. Really disappointing, especially once JC was out. The offense was stagnant and sh*t.
Anyway, we actually did decent in 3PT shots today. I hope Pogoy can sustain his shooting and doesn't go back to building a bigger Philippine Arena. I don't understand why Perez did not see a single minute; outside of JC, I think he's the best we have for broken plays; he could have given us a basket once JC was out.
There is no way JC will shoot 1/6 in threes again for me. Assuming we beat Angola on Sunday, I think JC will give us a better game against Italy. I don't know if they will shoot as badly as they did against Angola (14% in 3s), but that's what we have to hope for and need to have a chance at.
As much as I loathe SBP, I still hope and pray with all my heart that we will be successful and qualify for the Olympics. After the WC, however, I hope we immediately revert back to a program similar to Tab's (it doesn't have to be him; even a local guided with a foreign consultant would be good as long as he is competent and to appease BCAP). For the Paris Olympics, if we qualify, we can retain the WC 23 team core and yes it includes the GOAT CCR while hopefully having teams B and C for our younger talents. Specifics about it don't matter at this point. Anyway, one can dream.
