Bad plus minus for Dwight and Kai, -13 and -12. Dwight with 1/6 from 3. He is on average a bad 3 pt shooter. But he seems to shoot better with Gilas. Kai had a 3 ptr. He should shoot more I guess. But it seems his D is still not good.

Based on this we shld start Jap and Edu for def.
 
It seems that the final roster already determined in this game.. oftana will be the final cut… abando, pogoy, kiefer and newsome will be in…

The guy was supposed to be from a long break. His B league stats though are good I think. His shooting is good I think.

You just remember the last play but he made the one before that I think. Kiefer was ineffective. He gave the ball to Wright because he couldnt do anything with it.
 
Keifer - The PG who barely has any assists
Dwight - I hope his 3pt shooting comes back when it matters

Glaring stat - Mexico made more 3 pointers (14) than Montenegro while shooting a whopping 54%.

Choke hasn't found a way to incorporate defense to whatever his "system" is called.

Italy and DR will murder us with 3pt bombs....
 
Our nt lost in 3 point shooting. Something sokors know is the fatal flaw of pinoy guards and forwards for decades. As expected, the current team is not much of a perimeter threat under normal conditions.

But, hey, the nt will be playing with a hometown crowd. Luck is not a strategy, but does sprout in hometown games.

Sana buena mano sa dr...

(Maybe the pba should change the scoring rules. Score only 1.5 points for the usual 2 point shot in the paint.:D)

I think it's more of Chot wanting to experiment with the length of Kai and Japeth against better athleticism. Well, there's your answer. I don't necessarily think Mexico's bench are that much weaker against a frontline of JMF and Edu... but if JC is on the bench, it's as if he's allowing the guards (including Pogoy) to have a lot of freedom with the ball.

13 players were a part of the lineup today, plus JC who did not play. That’s 14 players, 2 cuts are needed. Aside from Oftana, who’s who? Newsome is my guess.

3. PF/C Edu
4. C/PF Jap
5. PF/SF Jamie
6. SF/PF Ramos
7. SG/SF JC
8. SG Pogoy
9. SG/PG Newsome
10 PG Scottie
11. PG Kiefer

Unfortunately it seems CJ is in Chots dog house. His D and passing is exposed. Abando has been doing decently in the plus minus. By stats alone in the 3 tuneups he did better than CJ. But this would be unfortunate as CJ did well in the tuneups before.

CJ did not attempt a 3 today. I think with a proper screen he can be efficient at the 3. It will be hard for him to score efficiently witout a 3 at this level.

CJ is not effective w/o the ball on his hand. With JC on the team, CJ’s role is simply to catch and shoot, and there are better options for that (abando, pogoy parks) than him. Too bad he’s our best slasher

Hence I'm watching the USA games instead. Don't know how Gilas games are sold out. Tens of thousands of people watching Choke choke live.
 
Mexico's is like your typical Pinoy team. Even in its roster composition, it's very Pinoy-like. I was wondering how Gilas lost this game.

13 made threes against 7, mexico is plus 18 in threes , while Gilas is plus 6 and plus 5 in 2 pt fg and FT respectively
