I mean is people suggest we do euro plays rather than DDO. Japan and Korea NT has been using euro plays without much success in WC. Why is that?

Despite the lack of basketball popularity in their respective countries...

SoKor has been consistently a thorn on our basketball-crazy side. And Japan has been steadily improving in terms of world level. Paying attention especially to their women's team (women's game does not require as much athleticism and height) shows the advantage of their system.

And when it comes to evaluating the "euro style"...well it has enabled less-talented european countries to defeat the americans. By now, US and most countries has basically adapted a lot of the principles. So it's not like adapting it will make you instant world-beaters. What it does is offer a system where the sum is greater than the parts.

Because they have low level players? When almost everyone is employing euro plays it will all come down to talent.

Here's a mental exercise...Which team in the Philippines has the most Euro playing style?

ADMU. How has their track record been? Last season was pretty impressive considering the sudden departure of key players. It's the same case again this coming season with the news about Padrigao. It is a a good litmus test for having a team where the sum is greater than the parts. IMO the teams of UP and DLSU are much more talented individually.

Off topic on the previous posts,

I'm just curious why Guo Ailun was left out on the China pool roster. I'm trying to find a news on any social media sites but to no avail.

Is he injured or their new coach don't want him? (Ala Terrence Romeo-Gilas exclusion)

Hello Robert. What happened to your Giannis34God account?

i thought im the only one who noticed this, that this new account posting here smells like sadik, just using irritation instead of iteration is just sadik things , i call him sadik as that what we call him before in pex

now we have two roberts.. great hehehe

it's a nickname for the teams from 2010-present. anyway you're free to believe what you want

yes as im not a dummy who will treat the current team identity separately and creating a new history from the national team who joined FIBA in 1936 just by the mere changing of nickname, it's like you were saying French National team change its nickname will not be the French National team anymore who won 2 FIFA world cups

the guy must be tired of pretending to be a greek who knows a lot about philippines and asian basketball, but the way he writes can't hide it anyways that is just sadik things, if you were in pex before it's just normal for him

grammar and being too emotional aside, I actually like rhe dude, provides a different perspective, but yeah at times he can be overboard

Robert the Team Saudi and Indonesia hype man hehe

Back on topic - with Clarkson coming in who is suspected to play the 4? Chot has used Japeth previously though him and Sotto playing together provided poor spacing. Is Tamayo confirmed out?

Personally think JB makes more sense schematically but at the end of the day wont make any difference with Chot at the helm anyway.

How is korea low level compare to us. I thought Japan having 2 NBA players are better than us in development hence talent.

So the same is true about us employing Euro because we dont have the same talent as Euro teams. So employing Euro will not work as per your statement.

Yes this is a big question mark. Actually we have two, the PF and SF positions. Dwight is injury prone lately and he seems to be our best player in those 2 spots. Chot should start playing Malonzo more if only to lessen Dwight's load. I am still skeptical that the Japeth as PF move will work.

The funny thing is if June Mar's good play continues, he may play more minutes than Kai. Kai really needs to go back to basics and also prioritize his energy on defense and rebounding.

I think Japan's invidual development track record is much better than ours. They have two homegrowns in the NBA after all. And a homegrown guard who played in the NBL I think. I don't think we have any of those achievements. Their pool of players is much smaller than ours though. Our reject, Matt Aquino, is even part of their national pool. It just magnifies their development achievement even more.

Again if they are better than us and Euro plays doesn't work with them. How will Euro plays work with us then.

Also, I dont get how Matt inclusion in their NT is a achievement in their development. May I know how?

We have a wider pool and IMO more talented players to choose from than Korea. Take away Japan's 2 NBA players and we've got a better more balanced lineup especially with their preferences for mediocre NPs ATM. Yet we can't win against Korea consistently and Japan isn't really the same without those 2 NBA players.

Well Asian teams have almost no shot of winning against most Euro teams, Euro system or not except maybe China playing in.. China.
