And we don't even have Balti in the pool now..

Coach Chot should make Baltazar as Tamayo's replacement. Baka mamaya nyan eh si Almazan pa ang gawin nilang replacement kay Tamayo.

Oh my, we might see an all-lolo Gilas team in the World Cup!!!

Here is thing, is Tamayo really not available even in August? Yes he's recovering and can't make the Lithuanian tour to earn a spot , but are we to believe he can't practice with team in August and be a possible last minute WC inclusion if needed .
the planning for a WC roater that began 5 years ago supposedly with the 23 and 23, has so many holes and incompetent decision making.
I mean seriously WTH is Tab not being able to coach a window tantamount to kicking him out as not only coach but program director. It's really poor planning and decision making.

The narrative is always been that way...

Players are injured, still on vacation, absent due to some personal reason, non-committal due to club commitments etc. etc. and the latest promotion gimmick now is to break the previous attendance record for an official FIBA World Cup game that is the more important thing Marketing and Promotion.

Players Development and Team Training are just for news related thing and media coverage.

I would add Kevin Quiambao, Justin Baltazar and Lebron Lopez (if eligible) to the pool. These guys have suited up before for Gilas.

Baltazar should replace Tamayo. Tsk tsk. Hopefully, for 2027 he would be at the peak of his powers for the qualifiers and the worlds and he gets handled by a better coach.

so is there more to the Tamayo situation other than the tendonitis?

Why did he went to Ateneo practices than NT practices. Pick Chot to coach when he wasn't even in his staff before. Why did he not coach that window instead?

Should he be taken out? Maybe not but thats a big question to me. His decision making on that instance and coaching carousel.

Would Chot swallow his pride and ask Delta to lend Balti?

I have very little expectation for this team. I just hope we won't get blown out much.

At this point, I don't care. We'll be having the World Cup in our backyard and God help you if you haven't bought game/day/2-day passes and are forced to listen to Andy Jao, Quinito Henson, and Dyan Castillejo while all our opponents will have Blue Cheese sauce with our 6'2 wings that are shorter than their point guards.

Chot getting a tech against Iran in 2007, much like 2013 FIBA Asia were distant memories... he lost my respect as a fan since making a fool out of himself in the 2014 Asian Games and threw Marcus Douthit under the bus because he didn't have Blatche's iso game (wala puso daw, ulol), Chot coming back after the brawl in Bulacan (proud pa nga siya eh) on the heels of what CTB managed to achieve without the help of the PBA just proves that Chot is only there looking to be relevant at a time when there are a handful of better and younger coaches who could easily replace him if basketball here was a meritocracy.

Is this an insinuation that Tamayo won't be picked, even though he along with Balti is our best option as a natural four?

Are there whispers that if you don't play in the PBA, you won't be part of the team?

funniest thing about the attempt to ask for Brownlee's exemption is the guy can't even play as a local in the domestic league and they want him to be considered as one for fiba play, just show that those statements about asking for Brownlee's exemption are just empty words and just for hype and fan service

But but he has a Pinoy heart and loves Filipino culture hehe

What do you mean, if eligible (Lopez)? Afaik there are no questions regarding his FIBA eligibility, or did I miss something?

Actually, push comes to shove, I’d rather we invite Lopez, Amos, Navarro or Arvin Tolentino rather than reverting to our old “reliables” in Rosario and Almazan. They’d be 3rd/4th stringer bigs anyway, we might as well go for youth.

Navarro being injured is the only reason he isnt here given that his pba play was also improving (mama aspect and offensive creativity). Again no current college stars in the pool..

The two Ravenas shouldn’t be in the pool. Seriously.

unfortunately it's very likely erram will make the team because of the tamayo pullout
