I think Carl's our option for the 4 spot in the World Cup. Sorry, Mason.

Perez, Marcio, and Arvin, definitely not. Marcio, just too many guys ahead of him.

Newsome, though... I dunno.
 
Gilas had 4 years to develop young talent and train for the WC. Maybe it’s reactionary but even if they add some of the other players from other leagues this team isn’t going to do well.

These are must-haves in the World Cup. And look, only two players out of those 7 are PBA players. The PBA better swallow their pride (fuck their pride, really), and accept that they are just another option for Gilas.

too bad, pba is not known for being humble, they will use the world cup to prove to the world that we are second only to the nba as the oldest pro league in the world and the first in asia.

We’re in for a rude awakening , Clarkson cant carry this team on his own
 
Expecting a re-run of the Asian Games. Or worse. With Choke, the bar can always go lower.
 
DR (sheer athletic prowess) and Italy (systematic basketball) are both going to have a field day against Gilas in the WC.

I'm just hoping for a mass exodus of Gilas players and prospects in every position to overseas leagues after this.
 
Scottie might not even play well against a team with big athletic guys at all positions. Perez had a hard time driving against this team. What makes us think Scottie will do any better.

PBA will swallow a lot of humble pie. Fact is PBA guys are not used to the size/ athleticism/skill of good international competition.

I prefer a solid defensive team, so rim protection at center is crucial. So are Dwight, Scottie, Malonzo, and to an extent Parks, as they can defend. Add some talent, and it's good.

I'm cutting Mason because man, he's a defensive liability right now, and he hasn't gotten going after that Lebanon game. Hope Tab can help him out on defense. Balti and even Carl can play better on defense.

As for Perez, I fear he's becoming another version of Pogoy in that after a good opening performance, he's become too inconsistent on both ends. Changing him with Schonny, as Schonny can shoot and defend. Better youth na rin. Might have to cut Thirdy because of him being a question mark shooting-wise.

PBA never learned, EASL results perhaps is the spoiler for the upcoming World Cup

If they really care about winning they should overhaul everything and invite all the right players. They're desperate enough to include Ross in the team but can't extend the olive branch to better players like Bolick?
