We have different opinion... But most coaches will pick NZL than DR or Finland anyway... Don't be bias on your team... Your team is good, but it is not considered as good as Finland, who placed top 8 in Eurobasket last year and DR, who beat full strength Argentina last qualifiers and adding KAT is huge for them.... Jordan and Lebanon beat your team, that is statement that NZL is not invisible squad

what difference in opinion and what bias, will re post agsin what i said

"Again and again you're not reading . I've already said MOST prefer NZ as beatable compared to Finland and DR . And yes by reputation talent as you cited."

The problem with what your saying is you're trying to stress highlight your agenda "that NZL is overattted (not thst good), using popular draw preference, when NO one is arguing that preference is not true anyway.. (Everyone agreed including me most prefer Finland and DR as stronger thsn NZL..

The bottomline is NZ is considered as world cup "DARK HORSES " (regularly upset stronger teams) by many including experts (coaches ), while all Asian teams are NOT .considered in same way. And have NOT yet even upset a stronger Euro since 2010.

BTW dark horses doesnt mean they are stronger than Euro teams LOL (for the nth time )

WTF talaga sila. I've read many of their articles, and they ain't exactly it. Only consistently decent writer there is Ceej Tantengco.

Isn't One Sport the broadcaster for the draw and world cup LOL. ? if they don't even get it , paano pa yung people who listen to them .. the reality of situation in Philippines , so much misinformation ,, leading to ignorance..

it's no surprise that Philippines ranks high in the ignorance index -- https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/index-ignorance-jan-vincent-meertens/

this highlights how media can brainwash beliefs and thinking...

But the ignorance often gets a lot of help. London’s population, for example, , people were so panicked by immigration that they voted equally strongly for “Leave”.

This was not just a coincidence. For many years a big chunk of the British media, including the country’s three largest-circulation morning papers, the Sun, the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph, has constantly exaggerated the scale of the immigration and the problems it causes. So in parts of England where immigrants are scarce, people don’t believe the evidence of their own eyes; they believe the media instead.

lesson: really don't rely on Philippine media ( I'm serious) , this is true for basketball as well, ( they have shaped a belief that is inaccurate, for the longest time many thought the PBA and Philippines was one of the best basketball outside of the US and NBA LOL, recently they made people believe Kai was a serious NBA prospect, who opted to declare for draft..

Education too, sir. It's not good enough.

As to Philippine media on basketball and the PBA, I remember Snow Badua saying that the best players are in the PBA, not in the B.League, not in the UAAP.

Snow also said at one point that SMC has the best power forwards, best bigman (June Mar), and best small forwards: https://twitter.com/snowbadua/status/1554319382767030273?s=19

Oh, man, Snow. So far, those takes are off, at least in the FIBA setting. Sure, you have Japeth as a probable PF, but the best FIBA players we have right now are in Japan.

Giannis is booted out if the playoffs, so he’ll have 4 months rest before he enter the greek training camp. I pity the nteams that will be part of his group, Giannis will vent his playoffs frustrations in the World Cup

Possible PHL opponent (33% chance)... Giannis will put all of his frustrations at FIBA WC.... They can't stop Butler... I dunno why Bucks coach adjust on how to defend Butler... Or put Giannis on him, so that he can disrupt some of Butler's shots....

Names mentioned are Beal, Bane, Young , Jackson , Garland, Edwards.. Allen

Sir Dave, since his lone college career at University of Georgia Bulldogs days I find Anthony Edward an ultra athletic dude who plays multiple sports like American Football and Baseball during his childhood days. No wonder he was selected Number 1 by the Timberwolves in the 2020 Draft because of his very impressive stats at Georgia with his 19.1 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 2.8 APG, him being a 5-star recruit, a finalist of the prestigious Jerry West Award among others. But despite of this attributes I found Edwards a little bit off sometimes(may sumpong) even during his college days and because of what happened a few days ago by throwing tantrums against a those 2 poor souls at the Ball Arena and the latest news is that he was charged with a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] degree assault and may sentence up to 18 months in jail(tsk! Tsk! What a mess for a young man whose starting to carve a name for himself as one of the most excited baller of the league and sadly we may not be able to watch him play come FIBA World Cup)

Which begs the question, who will be the go to wing /forward scorer KDs 2021 role for team USA in August?

Final phase of the World Cup now to be held at MOA, FIBA realized the logistics nightmare that is the Phil Arena (no nearby accommodations/ food establishments/ facilities not to mention mobility/traffic concerns)

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/fiba...uyqkz3p2l8POqaw3BNkZ5Y20kt6-g&mibextid=unz460

But Gilas 1st round games moved to PHL Arena... So weird.... The tickets might to expensive to local fans i think the reason.... They should give discount to most of Filipinos who want to watch the games...

i wonder where the classification games originally scheduled at MOA will be transferred to (or probably rescheduled?)

The biggest mistake SBP made was they only focus on Manila as their venues... I heard Davao already have big venue... And even in Cebu... They should distribute the locations of the matches per groups... Ex: Group A in Manila, Group B in Cebu, Group C in Davao and Group D in Baguio... That means some of local fans who want the games can afford to come even more

As expected, Phil Arena for foreign visitors is unacceptable and not appropriate. It's an arena that possibly can be filled by Pinoy fans who live locally.

Again whoever's idea that was , is ignorant of the realities of the world outside the Philippines. Let me guess no ticket sales for finals LOL

meanwhile package ticket sales for Okinawa are sold out . Go figure..

All fingers point to the dipshits that the SBP got for an organizing committee and went to Eurobasket as VIP's for a vacation instead of actually doing their job. I'm actually surprised it took this long given how embarrassing it will be for tourists to figure out how to get to the Philippine Arena and have to go back to their hotels.

In 2014, Seville held their fanzone right smack in the middle of the city at the Plaza de Encarnacion under the Metropol Parasol where people can just walk through and at least experience a bit of the World Cup even if they won't be watching. If they only planned to do something similar at 5th and 28th in BGC, (which is somewhat in the middle of the reclaimed area of Pasay and the Araneta side of Cubao) that open space will take care of itself. Now their problem is chartering direct flights from Okinawa which don't exist unless you own a private jet.

Even casual fans know how hard it is to go the Phil Arena. It's been talked about for ages in online forums but SBP for some reason chose to ignore all the cons. That says a lot about our basketball federation.
