When did DT retired? I f*cking miss that guy. Making this thread lively.

BTW all is lost to PH basketball in general, we as a nation cannot even get our shit together what more having a world class program that we can all love, root and be proud of

Enough of heartaches I cannot support this anymore.

Thank you MVP for the last decade. it's just sad you're old now, now we are back where we came from. A mess.

AFAIK he made a wager that he would leave if GILAS lost to a "weak" team. Well we lost..

I wonder what sir Nardy and J Mercado are doing? Their posts were always helpful here.

Im old enough to remember:

OG IBNers discovered a certain player named William Navarro playing for the youth team of European powerhouse Panathinaikos. AFAIK, Nardy contacted the guy and ask him if he can play in PHL college leagues.

The Kraken nickname was first mentioned here.

Also, a US NCAA player with a rather filipino sounding name Ronnie Aguilar made the rounds here. Somebody from the higher ups got hold of it, and took it seriously. Not verifying if he is indeed Filipino. Spoiler alert, he's not.

Dami pa tsismis: Like the Lopez Twins , want to play DAW for PHL. ..and former import Adam Parada having a son with a local model. and i guess he's gown up now if true.

And the reason why the OG IBNers named Junmar the Kraken is due to his facial features and physical appearance back then...not because of his gameplay

heck I also remember a number of posters claiming that the ABL will eventually phase out the PBA

Yeeah. Mukhang pusit

Was it the Taiwan game that did DT in?

I also noticed that members who used to be mild mannered are now swearing a lot out of frustration hahaha

No, he came back after that. Haha

I remember that Taiwan game that we lost. I got my ticket from DT. We were cursing long hair the whole game. Good times!

There is a FB group chat were most are active..
I guess I'm one of the crazy guys who still remains in IBN.
I can't seem to promise to leave forever LOL, even if I should, really , as I've said enough and I'm resigned to the future of Philippine basketball as being bad for the next decade

I believe JF got the nickname Kraken because UC wont release him to Gilas program of Rajko. Thats why the tag line was releasd the Kraken. Alot admire his game specially when he played very well against Ateneo, Bast iand SBC in PCBL.

im not sure if his wife was a model but she was a volleyball player for UST. cant remember how old their son is. 8-ish by now?

Adding as well that before Stanley Pringle was our infatuation for a PG lead guard for Gilas.

We have a guy named Joey Deas, who was a combo guard just like Pringle. Sadly the guy did not pursue professional career ball.

Terrell Theophile, Cstand, Niko Monachini those were the days. I miss the old IBN, our go to thread was the filam ballers in the US.

I remember as well that there was a time that Mikey Williams and Stephen Holt were hold to a higher regard than Clarkson before, mga times na it was really good to imagine what our future squad will be. Now it's still a dumpster fire, smh

i remember deas, he was the starting point guard of Coach Toroman. it was said he wasnt getting his pay on time so he quit.

I wasn’t that active then, actually even now. But I remember IBNrs where not that fond of an all amateur RP Team which then becomes Gilas 1.
