I hope both Baltazar and Tamayo will be retained, along with Ramos. Sayang yung progress e. Kai, i think he'll benefit the most with this sudden change. Another question is, what happens to Kouame now

I hope he gets the Blatche treatment and not the JF treatment.

As for Kouame he might opt for JC instead.

This is a given I think. Chot prefers small ball. The only hope for Kouame making the cut is if JC can't make it. Or if a miracle happens and FIBA considers Kouame a local.

Calling it now: Chot's 5's will be Junemar and Kai.

On the bright side:

1. No more SJ, Mike Nieto, Go. I doubt chot will select them.
2. Kai will have a better chance getting more touches on chot's system (assuming he will take Dray's role).
3. Chot will select better pg, as they will be one of the center piece of the offense.

Go has a chance as he is a proven stretch big. He still sucks at rebounding and has no post-play though. Guy literally got eaten alive by Jakrawan on the interior.

There's a big chance we might see Jayson Castro again as our starting PG.

PBA REINFORCEMENTS (POSSIBLE)

JAYSON CASTRO
RR POGOY
TROY ROSARIO
KELLY WILLIAMS (?) (LOL)
MATTHEW WRIGHT
ROBERT BOLICK
Gabe Norwood (?)
CALVIN OFTANA

B LEAGUE REINFORCEMENTS

RAY PARKS ( I know the issue, but still)

KIEFER RAVENA

Yup... This is bulshit. Nope, I am not going to support this national team. Coach Tab is doing well. This is a circus clown. Coach Tab knows he's the right man for that job, but paborito talaga niyan ni Pangilinan si Chot. If I were Tab I'd just leave this shithole of a country. Looking forward to our Women's football team though, what a great achievement. Chot can suck my burnek.

They will compete with Gilas Cadets + International Based Players

KAI SOTTO
AJ EDU
DWIGHT RAMOS
JUSTINE BALTAZAR
CARL TAMAYO

JORDAN HEADING
JUAN GOMEZ DELIANO
DALPH PANOPIO
LEBRON LOPEZ
WIL NAVARRO
KEN TUFFIN

Then for NP. Coach Chot will pick JC over Ange

Kai and JC show . Plus TNT (Troy. Pogoy)
Add Kiefer

Decent naman , but short term..
No systemic change

B league was just too much ...

Throw out the .. Kouame and Dwight show .. plus (Baltazar,Heading)

So sad, but we have to move on. i just hope that we shall not see that dreaded small ball and to much dribble drive. imagine Coach chot in the past even inserted three under 6'0 players all at the same time, with one small forward and center, wow, that was really disastrous from what i remember. It saddens me that all the beautiful system of Coach tab will be wipe out. 1 step forward, 100 step backward.

Deploy Mavs Phenomenal

Terrence Romeo and 4 other ballhandlers doing DDO

Nothing can go wrong

He heard everyone's complain that we lack quality PGs on Gilas. Maybe he plans on bringing back Castro, Tenorio and TR and Lee

Well, they can easily replace nietos, rj, AND sj.

But for wings, combo forwards, and bigs. Hays. I hope he retains them.

especially Tamayo and Balti as Combo Forwards

Nieto and Go on the OQT didn't make sense to me, i really resented that players who i think have no place in world level basketball are playing, yet i supported Gilas because it's the national team regardless. You, on the other hand, are acting like a five year old brat. Grow up

but Tab delivered during the OQT and secured those wins right? if Tab won the Asia Cup then this will be a done deal. the point is the coaching change has no meritocracy in such a decision.

Nah, I don't care. Didn't support Gilas when Chot was there and not gonna support them now that he's back again. Parang tigyawat sa muka pabalik balik tong si Chot. I wish all the Gilas boys the best but not gonna follow this team anymore because of Chot. Tab should get the fuck out of this country honestly. A high caliber coach like him shouldn't be wasting his precious time coaching in a low level collegiate league.

Puta nanalo lang ng filipino cup sa PBA feeling wordclass ulet. Honestly, I don't care if I'm acting immature.

We didn't win any in the OQT. We did surprise Serbia with a challenge but sucked against DomRep. Anyway, Tab as a coach for FIBA tournaments is better than Chot, no question, but it is what it is. Probably, MVP's hand was forced to move since the PBA doesn't want to lend players to a Baldwin coached Gilas. Besides, we're not even spending a penny here, so who are we? Of course, we can complain, but to withdraw support to your NATIONAL TEAM all because you don't like the coach is very childish.

ok it was AQC, not OQT.

we are angry at the coach and do not like him at all because this is the 3rd time that this coach USURPED the position (Toroman 1x, Tab 2x). is this still NATIONAL interest?

also semantics, how can it still be said to be a NATIONAL team when it is of CORPORATE interest rather than what's good for the basketball program of the country? it's rather a club team which is just permitted to place the "Pilipinas" name on the jersey.

You haven't even seen his lineup. Remember, the last time he coached in the world cup, there was plenty of SMC and players from independent teams. It's too early to shoot your gun.

i mentioned in another post that Chot should use all the money the MVP group can throw (afaik Chot's invested in EWP) to get all those players affiliated withEWP: so that's Kai, maybe Paras. then get JC in World Cup.

of course we're in Stockholm Syndrome, most likely to watch the incoming qualifiers and still hope Chot loses. we're qualified for World Cup anyway

Gilas Pool For 2023

PG: Kiefer, Bolick, Dalph, Juan
SG: JC, Parks, Wright, Perez, Thirdy
SF: Baltazar, Dwight, Quiambao, Navarro
PF: Tamayo, Cortez, Japeth,
C: Kai, AJ, JMF, Kouame

I may be forgetting some names. But for now, this is the best pool for me for 2023. We are near 2022 now

My Updated Gilas Wish pool for 2023

GUARDS: KIEFER, DALPH, HEADING

WINGS: JC (NP), PARKS, RAMOS, POGOY, WRIGHT, LOPEZ (YOUNGEST IN POOL)

COMBO FORWARDS: BALTAZAR, TAMAYO, OFTANA, TROY,

BIGS: KAI, AJ, KOUAME(IF LOCAL), JAPETH (maybe)

In this scenario, I am assuming pba will help sbp and coach tab. Which is likely the case since we are hosting the world cup next year.

And I am pretty sure coach tab is still considering tapping and inviting pba players if they are available in enough training preparation.

So, here's my wishlist for 2023.

Non-PBA

Guards: Kiefer, Parks, Thirdy, Dwight, Ildefonso, Juan GDL
Wings: Navarro, Lopez, Bahio, Adams (if indeed eligible)
Forwards: Baltazar, Tamayo, Quiambao
Bigs: Kai, AJ, Kouame, Cortez, Chiu, Lepalam

PBA

Guards: Bolick, Romeo, Perez
Wings: MGR, Oftana
Bigs: Erram, June Mar

The 3-4 years of build up and preparation have just gone to naught. Gilas is already in the last stage of perfecting Tabs system now its back to scratch again.I hope i won't see that dreadful 3 under 6-foot on the floor again.

LOL napaghahalata ka dito is that you Chot or are you also riding his dick like you ride Kai's?
