That's exactly the point. It is because of his experience in the second window with Tab where he played a role player position where he is not really comfortable and which resulted in a poor showing from him. I don't think he would want to experience the same thing again if he plays for Tab again.

That's a terrible mentality lol. He should be the one adjusting not the other way around. He's not the only one who has to adjust to Coach Tab's system. Who the hell thinks he is? Lebron James?

I like Kobe Paras. He is also a Unicorn Homegrown Player.

He is the most athletic young player we have probably.

His skills is ok Just need to improve outside shooting.

But his mentality should be improved too.

Kai is probably a future nba player. He sacrificed and adjust for the team.

Dwight is filling his role now. Lopez, Caelum, Mason Amos, Tamayo, Baltazar, Quiambao may fill the position he is playing which is SF or Combo Forward.

But i hope for th best for him. He is in US now. Looks like he is transitioning back to bw a SG/SF.

Need to improve his shooting and perimeter defense greatly if he wants to be a swing

I am happy we are exporting our players now.

At least we are doing it better than other asian countries.

Having a lineup filled with Players with International experiences in 2023 will be a dream come true.

No way we can win the 2023 WC

But advancing to the second round makes the team surpassed Gilas 2.

Going to the last 16 teams round. It will be like a Gold for me

And if we perform well enough, we can possibly qualify for the 2024 Olympics outright. I hope the SBP doesn't screw things up.

The basketball gods gave us a chance last WC to claim the lone qualifying Asian spot. Looking back, that road was super easy compared to the OQT. If only the 2019 team were well prepared and coached, we could be sending this year our largest contingent since the 1972 Olympics.

Agree. That game vs. Angola, Iran & Tunisia in the 2019 World Cup are winnable.

Btw.

Maybe I and jamskie are the only ones will agree with this.

But Rayray is a better/more talented player than Dwight.

Among the pba players. Rayray is who I wanted the most to be part of 2023.

Why?

Because he is really a Guard. And he is good sized. He is 6'4 with good length that can complement with dwight.

As shown in previous pba season. He looks like he is in his prime years now. His shooting improved also significantly.

And remember. Before Kai existed, Rayray is the Closest Homegrown Player to make the Nba. He was almost drafted.

And Rayray have G league and International Experience too.

I think Rayray and kiefer will be the reinforcements in 2023.

But with Rayray and MVP issue, this will be another punch to the moon.

Sayang naman. Especially he is eligible

Exactly. They were very winnable, but, sorry for the language, we fucked it up in the end.

That PBA scheduling was terrible. Less than two weeks only to prepare for the WC? Really? Plus, we didn't send our best team.

I hope we learned that lesson now. For the love of God, don't mess this up.

And hope "wala nang drama"

That is the problem of Coach Chot Gilas.

Remember this argument:?

Coach Chot: Thank you tnt, ros, etc(other pba teams except SMC), and Marc Pingris

SMC: "SA PAGKAKAALAM NAMIN, PLAYER PA RIN NAMIN SI PING COACH CHOT!!!"

Seriously???? Arguing about players playing for the Flag???

Anyway, I agree with IPC. We are entering Our Golden Age in Basketball. We better not mess this up

Ray Parks with all the nba summer league and g league experience during his senior Gilas debut last 2016 had been average and unimpressive. Compared to Dwight who was a bench warmer in div 1 school, Has been more impressive. Stats wise and eye test wise. Oh and Parks was older during that time at 23 years old, I think Ramos just recently turned to 22.

Dwight will turn 23 this September, actually. A caveat here, Parks debuted during the OQT. Dwight played during the FIBA Asia qualifiers. Still, I also think Dwight would perform better had he played last OQT.

Yes.

But I am not comparing them when they are in same age.

I am comparing them right now.

Are u guys saying 23yrs old Dwight is better than 28yrs old Rayray?

Or in 2023, 25 yrs old Dwight is better than 30yrs old Rayray?

I believe 25yrs old Dwight can be better than 30yrs old Rayray

Obviously, the PBA has not learned its lessons. "Bahala na si Batman" pa rin sa international competition. This is proven by the 3x3 disaster.

Right now yes. Dwight has better handles, shooting, laterals, upper body strength and court savvy than parks. More athletic too. Dwight is an efficient offensive all around guard, while Parks is more of a high volume shooter guard. Dwight has proven to be a go to guy in an international setting, While Parks suffers from the dillinger syndrome na kapag drumive hihinto then pipivot at maghahanap ng papasahan.

No way Parks offensive brilliance in the PBA will carry over in games vs Korea. While Dwight plays in Tabs system, he does it very efficiently and just go with the flow. While before we saw when Parks played in Tab’s system de numero siya gumalaw. OQT or not, just based on stats and eye test it just favors Ramos.

In fairness to Parks, he never got to the same level familiarity of Tab's system compared to that of Dwight's. If you further dissect Rayray's games with the national team, he was more interested in playing setup/ d the opposite team's best player than really scoring. He might be the more talented player right now but question remains how well he fits into Tab's system(which we may never see, pero sana di naman mangyari).

Anyway

Rayray and Dwight at PG/SG will be a sight to see.

6'4-6'5 Backcourt

the mindset and context of Parks being better than Dwight is typical NBA MVP type most valauble player style " production " state assessment style , the better scorer. one who can be your go to guy.. the thing is basketball is not just that, Dwight is a talent that you can place scorers around him and will even make them better.

Dwight is a better fit with Clarkson or playing with Kai , than Parks will ever be, so how do you value that. that to me is a better player and teammate
Ask both players teamates who do they want as a temmate and hands down most of Dwight will vote him

I dunno what's in the mind of Bobby Jr. but I don't think he ain't closing the door yet on playing for Gilas moving forward, damn!! FIBA Asia is just around the corner is still possible for the dude to be included in the Calambubble assuming he's already here in P.I?

Hmmm.

You basically admitted parks is a better scorer and go to guy. Which translates to a better individual Player. But I think Dwight when he reach his prime will be a lot better than parks even individually.

But ofc I agree will all of you. Dwight is a better team player. He is even the best player setupping Kai imo. Parks may not setup Kai the way Dwight does. And obviously, a better team fit player. And yeah, makes the team better.

Anyway no need to choose between them if we can both have them in backcourt. 6'4-6'5 Guards.
