3 weeks training from last week of July, the thing is it's still bubble calamba training, you cant just tune up with teams from the PBA not unless they enter the bubble also.

As to next 2 years and the pool. We all know the windows are
NOV
FEB
JUNE
JULY

So for UAAP it's just actually Feb that is in conflict.
Remember we're already qualified.

So here is the thing, by June 2022, 1 full year before 2023 World cup we have available full time for 1 year

All the UAAP and US college players who have graduated (AJ)
All the special draft players
All the players playing overseas unde FIBA clause agreements
All Ateneo players

So u see there are more than enough players to be able for a full year preperation

Currently theyre 21 if you add thirdy 22 na.. the period between now and august 16 is quite near and Tab wants other Rangel, Suerte, Bullanadi to be given a chance to prve their mettle, lets see kung anung pocket tournament o tuneups pa ang pwedeng makuha (IBN hates it but they will likely scrimmage against pba teams), or invite teams like Guam, Saudi, Taiwan or the New Zealand, Austrai before Asia Cup (highly unlikely due to pandemic")

The PG position should be at least 7 deep, with players with different set of skills and height,I hope Tab invites Dave P,at 6'2 he can play the short guy on the team with either Dwight or Cholo as the big PG.

Uaap players available in June July - Tamayo , RJ, Javi
Available for all windows
Ateneo players -Kaoame, Dwight , SJ, Geo, LeBron
Dave
Special draft - Go, Matt, Heading, Navarro

Foreign leagues with FIBA availability clause - Kai, Thirdy, Tuffin, 1GDL

UAAP and US college graduating 2022 - Baltazar, AJ

That's an 18 man pool right there that are reasonably available full time

Lets face it kung may college season I doubt we will see some of this players in Gilas (Balti, Carl, Javi, RJ)

Then thank God that likely won't be the case for the UAAP this coming season, which I think will be in the 2nd sem (January onwards), which will not affect the main tournament schedule.

Add Javi to the UAAP graduating list. He's about to play his 5th season for UP.

Whose dave p?

Wala na sj koon sa ateneo

Reference to more than 1 ineligible no longer included until 2023

As early a 1st window Feb 2020, this team was training and developing.. yes they had othes like Dave and another PG, and had tall players (foreign) to practice against regularly

For fiba, where the team will be going up against good players in every position, the pinoy nt has to be somewhat different.

It needs two very athletic combo guards. Not mediocre uaap designated ones, who happen to dribble-attack and shoot better than most pgs and sgs. For fiba battles, we know that designated pinoy streak shooters wilt against elite guards -- they can streak but not shoot anymore.

That's when you put in the überathletic combo guards -- something like a mature paras or lopez -- to go tarzan against the apes. They should have almost unblockable high-leaping jump shots and fadeaways, as well as savage rim attacks and foul-baits.

Masyado pang uaap o pba laro dito. Hindi calibrated pa laban sa elite nt-class enemies sa fiba top 20, where every coaching tactic often goes awry.

Norman Black says Junmar & Japeth could be upgrades for Gilas in 2023 World Cup. Maybe coach Norm is just trying to be civil but to be honest, I don't really see Junmar & Japeth to be upgrades for the Gilas frontline of Kai, Kouame, Edu, Tamayo, Baltazar. For one, by 2023 Junmar would be 33 while Japeth would be 36. They obviously won't be on their primes by that time. On the other hand Kai, Edu, Kouame & others would significantly improve in 2 years time.

Aside from Dwight (although not really as he was rarely used in that position), is there any other filipino who is 6'4 or taller that is consciously being trained as a pure PG. Only other player I know now is Cholo A. Anybody else?

If this Gilas team, keeps playing international ball, they will gain experience in two years time this team will be better both in offense and defense than any PBA lead team ever.

That is inevitable bro. Two years may sound short a period. Parang kailan lang nga naman yung 2019 FIBA World Cup. But for a developmental team/pool like the current Gilas cadet pool, that's long enough period to gain experience & repetitions.

Prior to the 3rd window, I didn't expect Gilas to be this good. I mean good enough to sweep a team like Korea in 2 games. That's only about barely 4 months of full time training (counting last year's brief trainings in the 1st & 2nd windows). Now imagine what this team would look like 2 years from now.
