My first sport was actually soccer so I’d say I developed not just footwork but also spatial awareness and court vision from soccer

That also , spartial awarnesss , hand eye cordination, reflexes. a lot of our players simply do not move well without the ball or have good understanding of when to cut and space. ( very Westbrook ball heavy in orientation )

in local scene, the ravenas.. afaik thirdy played volleyball as well.. his older brother plays good at it and even plans to play for blue eagles volleyball during the off season of basketball

I have that question? Who among PBA players are also knowledgeable playing soccer/football? Is there any? Feel ko waley eh, If we look at their athletic abilities talagang may kulang..

if we go throwback, bong ravena.. plays soccer, volleyball and basketball..

Everyone just talks about mismatched in terms of height , what fans fail to notice is we're actually mismatched as well in terms of team play , familarity and instincts of spartial awarness ( make no mistake about it , that is also an athlete skill)

For hand eye coordination, reflexes even lateral movement ping pong would be a great sport, lots of lateral movement as well as needs quick reflexes and hand eye coordination to return.

ben simmons first love is not basketball but australian rules football.. and this is how it played

I agree with this. Australian basketball players, for sure, played either Australian-rules football or Rugby before playing basketball which explains their physicality. It is also not impossible that Kiwi basketball players also used to play rugby before playing basketball which explains their physicality as a team.

I was able to watch a game in AFL and the physicality is off the charts despite they wear no protection at all.

What I like about these sports like rugby American football these guys are all big muscular but can move pretty fast at least at a pro level.

I know Troy isn't that skilled ( ball handling, post moves wala etc- he's not a baller) but one thing going for him over a Tamayo is he seems more athletic ( i think he played volleyball?) , on the reverse side that's the problem with Tamayo , he looks slow , yes he's got handles and moves but at his height ( 6' 7 ish) lacks the activity required to chase players in the perimeter in this modern day game

Steven Adams court vision is due to Rugby , there is this concept in Rugby of filling the lane and passing ahead to open spaces, it also requires timing of when to cut / run forward or else you're offside. You see all of these skills translate to playing good team basketball. (it's a big advantage)

I don’t know what is physical education like at the elementary to high school level like? What do they do during gym classes is it just basketball or do they do play other sports?

Because he's not attained some other training aspects aside basketball.. Footwork it his main weaknesses.. Hoping that he should join some UP men's football training to gain some techniques in footwork..

Actually I think footwork is one of Tamayo’s strengths he uses it it pretty well

He stated before that just started at age 15. Imagine if he played basketball at earlier age, he could be more than what he is today.

The main problem is what coaches telling them, they will follow.. If they tell defend the paint and grab rebounds eh ganun talaga.. with Bo as caoch, I don't think he will improve too much.. If he accpets overseas offer before eh he will be as good as Kai Sotto now..

When I meant footwork I meant though more for offense, defensively it’s different but offensively Tamayo footwork in the post is nice

Here majority is baskeball, maybe some volleyball, but others are meh!!!If we look at most popular sports in the Philippines, Basketball, Volleyball, Boxing are top 3.. (Question for me is volleyball already surpass boxing as no.2 sport?),Football/soccer here could be no.4 or 5, depending on what is the popularity now of billiards as of today.. When Efren Bata Reyes prime, Billiards are no.2 sport (Pre Manny Pacquiao era).. But now billiards are in all-time low in terms of popularity..

So people just play basketball and volleyball during gym? The curriculum out in Canada we played many different sports during physical education classes even obscure sports no one has heard of like Tchouk ball was taught. Variety would help kids develop different skills and find out what they are good at

play serious agawan base or pantangpero ( whatever it's called where you need to cross a line and defender needs to move latterally)

What would actually be good to predict is who will make the final 12 for 2023?
So for fun go, predict who?
Note this isn't a vote of preference but who is likely to make the final 12
