I wish we have fullgames of DLSU overseas.

Balty looks mobile IMO. His timing seems to be good. One thing I am looking here is his laterals but he seems to have it also.

I hope that he further improves his game as well his desire to play for the flag.

If he do so, he will be a better option than Junmar. He looks like a legit 6'7 or even 6'8 player in eyetest.

Balthazar does well against Asian competition but struggles against international players

Bad thing here if he will be in the PBA next year, He will force to play center due to lack of bigs in the PBA..he can't be develop to play his usual position..

It is ok to. Be listed at Center

But play your game.

Look at Gabe, he is 6'6. You could say he will be force to play Center. Especially it looks like he is taller than JR and Belga.
(Especially Pre Almazan Days)

But did Gabe play Center???. No he play as a Guard or Sf. His natural position

vs. Russia Select (U23?)

There are levels to things, a Baltazar at this point despite being taller is no guarantee to be better than a Kobe or Troy as a 4. It isn't automatic if your 6'8 your better. I'll say it again we're only having this conversation of small ball Kobe or Oftana at 4 for stretches because we simply do not have an existing PF at 6'8 that is eligible and at the appropriate level skill set and athleticim (all are litterally below FIBA level standard, they're litterally mainly centers in FIBA PF size bodies

If we are looking for prototypical Stretch 4 at present our De facto guy for that is Troy Rosario..Rosario though is a twinner, to lean for a 4 but slow to run after SF...His three point shooting makes up for his strength deficiency...Other options are Isaac Go , Carl Tamayo and Jaymark Carino...Isaac Go as Tab mentioned is groomed to be an international 4 , he just have to slim down a little bit ,same with CARL Tamayo while Carino has to bulk up a little ..

In the high school ranks that's where it's getting promising...Ranidel's hair apparent could be Mason Mason, 6-7 at 16 with good handles and good three point shooting....Another is Baste Reyes, now 15 year old but claimed to be already 6-6 as well as Kobe Dimasana, 16 yo standing already 6-7 and growing....

Well Baltazar could be that guy actually...He can be one of the mainstay PF/traditional for Cadets if release by DLSU.. Taller stronger and used to defending the post, he has adequate laterals to bother guards and swingman on PNR...Great help side defender, and an improving perimeter shooting extending to the three...Certainly not as flashy as the Kobe and Oftana but taller and lengthy to backup AJ and Kai..Infact I see Baltazar as 6-8 version of Edu...Well we can still use Kobe and Oftanaas pang bulaga 5-6 spurts just to make the opposing team off guard, but Baltazar could be the ideal backup to AJ Edu at 4...

Agree to this. Balty has the tools to be the Gilas third bigman come 2023. Can shoot, can drive, can post, can defend. It is difficult to find a legit 6'8 as good as Balty.

What i need for him to improve is his desire to play for the National Team and stop a having merc mentality. It's hard to play for the team when you are half-hearted.

Well that's all good, if Baltazar is the guy (3rd rotation player) games and time with Gilas will tell if he is the guy. I'm just saying current that's still to be determined.
Do note he was selected by Tab for the pool in the February window, so he certainly is at least a prospect in Tab's eyes.
I'd say the outlook of him being the 3rd big in 2023 is certainly better than anyone who plays center currently in the PBA (that option is a dead end with little positive chances of a good outcome)

I've watched Baltazar video and yes it does look promising. Important thing is he trains with Gilas

That is one of my doubts on Baltazar.. His manager and Sanggalang are same.. and we all know how Sanggalang undesires playing for Gilas.. I have feeling that he is only contend to play only in the PBA and earn big bucks rather to play for flag.. If that happens eh i still respect his decision but he should not expect for him to be adore by Gilas fans..

Yun lang ang problem, the desire to play for Gilas...Other than that all is good with Him...Another actually is Carino, although he plays Center for Red Lions, his play style I more of a forward, ni hack to the basket move, able perimeter shooting, range up to 3.. Good help side defender and quick on his feet also...Remember how he almost had a triple double with blocks last U18 stint in 2016..Let's see how he fare next NCAA now that he will have the playing time already...I won't be surprised if he will have Calvin Oftana like breakout season next year...

If all these prospects trained with Gilas for 1 to 2 full years prior to 2023

Kouame (it's OK if he skips 2023 if not exempted at least the others train as non centers)
AJ
Balti
Kobe
Oftana
Dwight
Thirdy
1GDL

We’re all set for 2023,
Just hugot in the 11th hour Clarkson, Kai and maybe 1 PBA guard (Kiefer or CJ)

That's a good team, to look forward to

High on JGDL over Matt Nieto? JGDL is a scorer, I'll go for not so ball heavy guard as Backup for Gilas...Good enough lineup...

Well, anybody can orchestrate offense depending on watch the coach demands on them to do. Me? I don't subscribe with the idea of having a point guard.

Even Boomers and Tall Blacks don't really have pure point guards.

Shea Ili and Jarrod Kenny are scorers.

Patty Mills is a scorer while Delly is a 3 and D player stucked in a 6'4 body.
