I heard of a talented 2008 generation of Turkey but I also strongly expect 09 born Omer Kutluay to participate.

The wide roster of the Turkish U16 youth team.

The star of this team is clearly and without any doubt one year younger Omer Kutluay. Its time for Omer to establish himself as one of the greatest talents of his generation.

Despite Omer there is plenty of talent here. Omer Ege Ziyaettin seems to be a very capable shooter but I want to see if he can create for himself and/or for others. Dont think that the big Ahmet Kerim Andic has a high profile for higher levels of basketball but with his 215cm and his shooting ability he could help the team a lot. The fact of the matter is though that we lost tons of this profile.

Heard loads of good things about Romania rooted Karutasu and Ahmet Arda Ene. Mikail Atakan gave me vibes of becoming a very talented forward two years ago.

Generally said I think this generation of 2008/09 born guys can fight for a medal but it doesnt matter at all. What matters is Omer Kutluay becoming great.

Serbia should have the quality team. But in the last few years our U16 teams were performing badly. Its always poor selections of players, lots of players always get overlooked. Like our 2006 generation, who barely survived to stay in Division A in the last game of the tournament. The only three players from that tournament are still part of our junior team which will be one of the favorites this year. You never know what will happen in this U16 category.

On the preliminary list of the roster. Serbia have the certain player from Finland, Andrej Pavlovic. As I understood he has already competed for Finland this year , so i wonder if anyone knows who will he play for at U16 tournament??? Anyone from Finland here???

Well, generally spoken the Germans have size but lack BBIQ and decision making. Serbs lack size but know how to play basketball.

Fabian Kaiser looks really special. Being 15 years old and bringing such physical attributes is really special. Complete package! His defense looks average at best but he can drive, handle the ball, pass. Looks like a different version of Franz Wagner is growing.

On the Serbian side Bjelic looks very promising.

I don't think that Serbia lacks the size we are just playing with the undersized center. I am not the fan of over hyped Danilovic, son of Predrag Danilovic , the former legend and the president of the Serbian basketball federation. He's allowed to do anything he wants on the court without any consequences, Bjelic too. Karalic,Bikic and Susic should have much bigger roles on our team. To me they have much bigger ceiling than those two players.

This U16 Greek team is really fun to watch. Ilias Chaidemenos I like him but beyond him its a really talented and balanced team. Hard to believe they are Greeks. XD

I think this Serbian team is the hostage of two players, Bjelic and Danilovic. They are allowed to take any shot attempts they want and they can make any bad decisions on the court they want and they will be awarded for it:rolleyes: Yet the players who really deserving more trust are not getting the same freedoms in their games. Again our best back court players are Bikic,Karalic,Nedeljkovic and Susic. Bikic is the most creative player on the team, the best passer etc. Also our couch wont play our tallest players on the team Pavlovic and Zelic who are not bad players. There is no reason to only play Gavranovic at the five position. He's not the bad player but he's undersized. He should give the other two players more minutes on the court.

Serbia U16 team is ISO heavy, no doubt about that. But there is also no doubt that this generation has a few very gifted shot makers. Bjelic and Danilovic are cold blooded shooters. They lack decision making and don't have passing awareness, but there is undeniable talent. Bjelic is shooting 9 threes per game and converting 52% of them on every level of difficulty. He is a combo guard and dominant scorer. Looking from him to distribute the ball is not his thing. That's fine as long as he can become consistent scorer, but it's too early to tell, he is only 16. Better understanding of basketball and more awareness is expected in later stages. Showing off scoring ability is more than enough for now. Danilovic has a stroke like his father but lacks size and has a bit tiny frame. That's the biggest question mark about him.

The most complete player of this generation is Bikic though. Great awareness at 200cm, decision making, very matured game for his age. Point forward kind of a player.

More is expected from Karalic.

So who will win today?

Most likely Greece but it does not matter at all. Its the better and more balanced team. The Turkish team has several weaknesses but having a talent like Omer Kutluay is more important than 1000 teams. Take a deeper look on Chaidemenos. A Euroleague starter potential.

To see Kutulay's son playing is really nice I have to say. I will have a look on Chaidemenos. By the way Chaidemenos means literally someone who got a lot of stroking!

Damn! What an unpronounceable name.

That's true. There was some trouble with this guy because he used an agent to go to.Aris but in this age agents are forbidden. By the way Turkey is leading. Sorry was leading. Who is this blonde guy with the long hairs playing for Turkey?

Its hard to beat Greeks in Greece but our guys fought well. Important is how many of those guys can help the NT in the future. What do you think of Ilias?

Misha Atakan - originally he is from Ukraine but he is born and raised in Turkey as far as I know. His father was a swimmer who represented Turkey. But dont ask me how he landed in Turkey.
