So does Belize get to advance to the semifinals or is their tournament over? It sounded like Panama was treating it as seriously as any other game, not like a game that wouldn't count.

In his Twitter post prior to that one, he mentioned that they will be playing Mexico in the semifinal tomorrow but FIBA's site has Mexico against Guatemala and Panama against Costa Rica for tomorrow! If they are actually playing Mexico tomorrow, I wonder if this is an indication that Belize will now be playing in the semifinal tomorrow against Costa Rica?????:confused:

That's what I meant...they won't simply allow Belize to move on as they are feared to loose this one.
Mexico is missing a lot of players in this tournament because they thought they can get it done easily. Now Belize shows up in full gear and Panama too...conclusion: Do something to avoid another failure.

The appeal has been acknowledged by FIBA, and they say Belize will play, but depending on the outcome of the appeal will determine if Belize's game will be official.The appeal will begin after the Tournament. Thats the latest report from the team.

Alex Carcamo saying that some of the teams tried to put together a petition to have Belize removed from the tournament, and Panama refused to sign it despite a lot of pressure from the Mexicans.
