This definitely taiwan a team, but how will they integrate hinton bros to this..

This game is giving me a headache trying to understand how the same players that Taiwan is playing against are the same ones that would blow by or shoot over pinoy players with relative ease. I wonder if the individual tendencies of our players, especially PBA ones are actually THAT bad and predictable

Taiwan is going to get even stronger with the Hinton brothers. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang but, seeing this team play in last year & this year's editions of Jones Cup, I predicted Taiwan's significant improvement with the entry of Mohammed Bachir Gadiaga a. k. a. "Abassi", Benson Lin & other young players. Moreso when the Hinton bros would finally suit up for Taiwan in FIBA games.

Is Taiwan's afro 6-foot-2 guard Mohammed Bachir Gadiaga a. k. a. "Abassi" the kind of player most of us envisioned Thirdy Ravena would become when he reaches his prime? Thirdy actually is already in his prime right now but he doesn't come close to where Abassi is right now.

I feel Abassi is going to be Taiwan's difference maker. Wala pa nga dyan yung mga Hinton bros who are 6-foot-4/6-foot-5 wingmen with good handles, shooting & athleticism.

idk Gadiaga's wingspan but he looks lengthier than Thirdy. Thirdy always looked too small to properly defend beyond a point guard.

NZ is a different team with head of the snake Shea Ili , pull away on 4th quarter , with Webster on the bench .

NZ actually had no official center in their roster, Waandenberg their forward was the only player taller than 6'8 . Waandenbery was 3 or 4 asssit away from the tripple double .
They need to have one of their top 3 centers ( Wetzell , manenga , fotu) to have a chance vs Gilas in Feb. Harris at times was playing center for NZ vs Taipei vs their 7 foot shot blocker

So NZ played small ball that entire game?

yes Waandenberg a forward was their center , 16 pts , 13 rebs and 6 assist. , Vodoanvich and harris sometimes played center when Sam sat, in has advantages and disadvantage , team had speed but was small..

NZ defense is bad when Brit and Corey play together ( they played 30 mins each vs Gilas)

Interesting numbers here.

Throughout the windows so far, we lead in efficiency (134.3), assists (28.0), and assists/turnover ratio (2.9). We're also 2nd in scoring (96.5 PPG).

Honestly got to attribute it to our players having higher basketball iq at least on offense this generation, probably two folds higher than any previous gilas teams whos only tactics were to pass to Blatche when they run out of dribbles. I'd like to see a stat regarding number of blowbys and contested shots scored against them though, I'm still having nightmares about teams like the Dominican Republic just non-consensually penetrating our teams defense

Is Gilas a top 5 team in Asia-Oceania?

Take note: this is a question, not a statement.

With the way Gilas is playing since OQT , they are 2nd tier world cup team already, equivalent to 2nd tier Americas team
