I actually don't know how this new look NZ Tall Blacks team will look on Thursday the combination will really be new , will be interesting, just excited to see how they look. It's not the lack of talent in the roster , but they really have limited time together
Corey Webster is really in terms of basketball game shape iinactive. So really a big question mark.

The players are arriving from different cities and will have 1st practice together Monday in Manila

It's interesting how CTC is going to approach the game against NZ using the triangle. CTC has been on a roll since taking over Gilas with huge wins in the Asians Games and against Latvia. I hope the momentum continues favoring Gilas.

So what is the final status of Edu? Has the SBP given a medical update? Their doctors were supposed to check him.

The big question mark for NZ is 35 yr old Corey Webster game shape , as he's inactive since the OQT, is not signed by any NBL club.

Concern of Gilas to me is perimeter defense of our bigs on versatile face up bigs or NZ, the two Sam's. And motor activity of bigs, Harrison ranks 3rd in the NBL in rebounding.

Of course Brownlee health is another concern

I hope Edu will play even just for NZL game.. for Hong Kong game, we can afford to rest him.. we can win vs HK even with Japeth and Junmar as bigs.. even JB can rest vs HK and we can tap Ange for HK game...

Is that AJ Edu in Junmar's far left? Edu seems in playing jersey so he probably did join the team in practice yesterday.

yup. thats AJ and Kai sitting together. edu looks like in gilas tshirt and not a jersey.

Webster in 2016 was a beast. No one from the Gilas guards can stay toe to toe with his guy, Parks and Ryan Reyes cannot contain him.

However, this will be a different story with Newsome and even Thompson can put the clamps on him and at the same time maybe this guy's game already declined.

Also, why no Tai Webster? Is he scared? Tinalo pa ni Kawamura mag NBA, I remember you were hyping this guy like he is the supposed to be next big thing.

I'm really glad to see that this core of bigger and more skilled players remains intact. For the upcoming games I'm curious to see if our forwards have become modernized or are close to it, especially KQ and Tamayo. Modern forwards is the biggest hole we have in competing with teams outside of Asia, or just Korea and Japan in the region. Also hoping that Mason Amos could be a suitable plug for poor injury-prone AJ, hope Amos could become our sort of Al Horford.
