CTC already mentioned this before that he ain't that sold in adding too many players in his roster

just in case someone's goes down along the way.

his talking about familiarity as far as his system are concern.

I've already mentioned this before that guys like

Mason, Maverick or Japeth are the logical choice because of this.

now for argument sake if ever guys like Abando, Heading, Balti or others to be added

they need a substantial amount of time in the sweat shop amongst the Core for obvious reason

personally, I ain't warm on 6'3 BRP, 5'11 & 6'1 Ravena bros and 6'3 MW moving forward.

they've already done their part and we already know their work rate at the FIBA level

IMHO those players are enigma

I dunno maybe the pressure of wearing the 3 Stars and a Sun in their jerseys are

creeping in their inner emotions most of the time that is why they ain't fit in many levels.

another factor also, is the "system".

besides we already had an abundance of players in the 6'0 to 6'5 levels

Agree with the same sentiment, but huge huge pass on Maverick, hes already on his latter years. Just put RJ there, Maverick if hes not shooting well does not bring anything against a team with good defense. Id even take his brother over him, at least Jerrick plays decent defence

On the other hand (biglang ganoon noh!!!), our non-PBA Gilas players (Kai, Dwight, Tamayo, Edu, Quiambao, Amos) will be available about 10 days before our 1st game of the 2nd window because the B-league & the KBL would take a 2-week break to give way to the 2nd window 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.

Let's just pray that both Ginebra & SMB won't make it to the Governor's Cup finals so that Junmar, CJ Perez, Iskati Thompson, Malonzo (hope he's healthy by that time) & Brownlee can join Gilas practice about 10 days before our 1st game in the 2nd window.

Dwight is back.

It seems RHJ will not play for Jordan sa 2nd window ng Fiba Asia cup qualifiers this month.. I don't know why but they call Dar Tucker to play for them this window... Are MVP camp decline him to participate?

Jordan will play only Iraq & Palestine in the 2nd window. Perhaps the Jordanians are confident they will win both games even w/o RHJ. Dar Tucker while already old & already beyond his prime, is Jordan's long time naturalized player hence there's already an established chemistry between him & the local players. I think the Jordanians want to give RHJ some rest & reserve him for the 3rd window where they will face dangerous Saudi Arabia.

strong tall blacks team

what impresses me about Tim Cone is his connections outside the country. i mean, he was able to have tune-ups with Turkey and Poland's team A despite the fact that his only coaching gig is the PBA.

How strong is this team compared to their regular full team?

i only recognize Britt, Vodanovich, Websters, and Cameron.

darling played against kai’s batch before and was good off the bench guy.. mannenga and harrison are good bigs.. harris is 6’6 wing na teammates with kai with adelaide before..

flynn cameron was d1 talent and plays for melbourne and good off the bench guy.. flynn cameron was impressive last 2021 asia cup in indonesia. better than gilas faced 2022 qualifiers TB team

someone else from SBP would be doing this. CTC, or any of the past coaches, will not talk to whoever the counterpart of Al Panlilio or Erika Dy to setup tune up matches. I would assume, someone from SBP would reach out to the team manager of other teams as that person would know the schedule of the team and would probably the same person who would get the approvals on their side (both higher ups and each players mother teams).

Guys like Shea Ili, Finn Delany, Isaac Fotu, Ethan Rusbatch, Jordan Ngatai, Samuel Timmins are not in the pool/team for the 2nd window. These are regular fixtures of NZ & key players as well.

Nevertheless, this current New Zealand team is formidable as it has a number of players playing in NBL-Australia & some are registering impressive stats in that league like Samuel Waardenburg, Tyler Harrison, Sam Mennenga. We all know how competitive NBL-Australia is.

This is Team A NZ against Team A Gilas. There should be no excuse and a good test for Gilas. Harrison is NZ's best big after Adam's. I could only think of one NZ player that isnt here and that was their other PF who went to europe.

Gilas' edge over NZ is the former having a more intact lineup. Current NZ roster has a number of new players, plus the team has a new coach as well. Also looking at the NBL-Australia schedule, I saw that the league will take a break on November 18. That's 3 days before the Gilas-NZ game. Almost all players of the current NZ team are playing in NBL-Australia. This NZ team will only have few days to prepare for the much awaited Gilas-New Zealand game on Nov. 21.

It’s possible Dar is just their practice player and RHJ will be their actual NP in the ACQ.

They haven’t made an official announcement in their federation’s Ig.

They have a bunch of training camps and tune ups so they want play competitively.

I want GIlas to win. i dont care if NZ sends 12 1 year olds or 12 T800 cyborgs. we cannot control who the other team sends. I hope we win.
