Their NP is Mike Lewis II. I think he played for Qatar in last year's Jones Cup.

About the players of Qatar, the Bosnian-descent players like Nedim Muslic, Mejo Haracic, Faris Advic have been playing for the Qatar national team in the last 4 years or so. These players are actually in their mid-20's now which means they are almost in their primes now, yet they have not really made strong enough impact to elevate Qatar to a lofty placing in Asian basketball in the last few years. And it doesn't look like Qatar basketball will be back to its lofty placings in Asian basketball in the next 2 to 3 years with those players in tow.

Now Qatar has a No. Of teenage players in its current pool & they are black players. Those players are actually the key players of Qatar's U-18 youth team in 2022. These players look promising but I don't think they are going to make an immediate impact to really elevate the team any higher anytime soon.

But I think they still more foreign players in their disposal that waiting for their residency to be approved by FIBA… Qatar can give FIBA money just to approve those players…

CTC is stubborn when it comes to his system, who's here old enough to remember when his so called strong team gets beaten by US NCAA Div 1 teams, the shock on him and the fans were amusing. His system is above everybody else,if he gets the right player for his system then alls well that ends well.

He's similar to Phil Jackson (down to the offense). He needs great players on his team. Then his expertise is managing egos and instilling cohesion and enabling stars to be stars. He admits it himself he's not an X and O's coach.

If only we had a coach like Spoelstra who can do that Phil Jackson style (when he was with his LBJ/Wade lineup) but he can also be a development coach (current roster). In his current roster, he is able to develop non-stars and use tactics to maximize their abilities. Sum is greater than the parts and is perfect for a team that has superior opponents.

See how a Jordan team without a naturalized player & Ahmad Al Dwairi looked like an averaged Asian team that it was easily beaten by Bahrain. While Bahrain is no slouch, it is not among the top 10 teams in Asia-Oceania basketball.

Jordan paraded some developmental players in this game & it's obvious how fragile the team is if the key players are not playing.

Well that’s the purpose of those tune up games… actually a good move for Jordan since they give other players a chance to develop.. tune up games are useless anyway.. I heard that Chism might be replace in OQT, since he’s old already… they badly need young NP replacement… I think Bahrain will be replace Taiwan in the top 10 best teams in APAC… since Taiwan’s basketball program is in mess right now… with that situation Taiwan is facing, even talented players can’t solve their big problem… Maybe a suspension from FIBA will wake up Taiwan… Taiwan is not treating FIBA games seriously.. Parang Pilipinas lang under BAP era from 1990s - mid 2000s.. BAP is not treating FIBA seriously… ganitong ganito Taiwan ngaun… and that’s sucks for them… Bahrain will be stronger once Muzamil Hamooda is always available to them plus new and younger NP..

I'm pretty sure he can get more than 12 players for his system,if only the politics of the SBP and PBA should be kicked to the side. There should be at least 16 players,he can use the extra four for practice players for his system or to mimic the opposing players.

Should have leveled up and played against tougher competition. Maybe it's Delta's orders but he really stagnated playing in the MPBL where he's facing shorter, lesser skilled , mostly out of shape, should have retired players.

That's why it's never a good idea for a national team prospect to play in a low level basketball league like the MPBL

Should have looked for another Bleague team, joined the draft, or honored his KBL contract. Pay probably would have been better too. Can you imagine if Tamayo, KQ, Kai or any other NT prospect being contented with just playing in the MPBL?

He had an offer from KBL,but somehow his mentor used the "utang na loob" scenario.

Tune up games are useless? Oh don't tell that to any Gilas coach! Pinoy basketball fans would always want to see Gilas win, even if it is just a non-bearing friendly or tune-up game.

Pinoy fans won't simply accept any excuse from a Gilas coach everytime Gilas loses. Excuses such as "this is just a learning process for the team" or "winning isn't everything, we will learn more from losing than from winning" won't suffice to Pinoy fans.

It's somewhat a curse for any Gilas coach that basketball is so popular in the Philippines.

I understand that since Basketball is a big religion already in the PHL... but the real purpose of tune up matches is to give exposure to the other guys, especially young players, creating chemistry and masteries all the system created by their coaches...

Yes bro. Ganoon naman talaga dapat. In friendly or tune up games, winning shouldn't be the main objective. But since most Pinoy basketball fans are unforgiving, the national team coach should find the right balance between experiment/development/exposure to young players and winning even in those friendly ortune up games which in reality have no bearing. In short our Gilas coach is always pressured to win every game, mapa friendly or exhibition or tuneup games lang yan or actual tournament games.

Especially with most bashers… they think they know basketball (POWcast Billy Manzano)… hahahhahahahaha…

Norvelle Pelle is back in Lebanon.. I think he’s the best fit for NP slot for Lebanon… they don’t need scorer NP since Arakji can do the job (although he didn’t play this match, maybe because this is just a tune up game)… Iraq did a good job, they’re a good team, also in mid 2nd tier level.. I remember one time they beat China before in Fiba asia champions cup some years ago and matches between them and Gilas before are not blow outs…

Bad tune up series from Jordan, as they lost to Egypt badly (58-95).. although expected guys like RHJ, Al Dwairi to play for the qualifiers this week…

https://www.youtube.com/live/KZKl6ue84vI?si=r0Gp8ZA-lilsaX5Q

meanwhile Saudi again lost vs CAR (71-76).. they have a long way to learn the system of Nestor Garcia.. it is a long process.. although they keep try to learn…

While Jordan's starting 5 of RHJ, Al Dwairi, Fred Ibrahim, Amin Abuhawas, Sam Bzai & Hashem Abbas is definitely solid, the team's 2nd stingers are of insignificant value. This only exposes the lack of talent depth in Jordan basketball. Jordan doesn't come close to teams like Lebanon, South Korea, China in terms of talent depth.

You take away 2 of its starters & Jordan would become significantly weaker. Jordan's problem is that Al Dwairi is about to turn 31, Sam Bzai is now 30 yrs old & Abuhawas is 29. In 4 yrs time, these players would be on the twighlight of their careers. Who will be their successors?

While CJ Perez has already joined Gilas training in Laguna, Junmar Fajardo has yet to report for Gilas practice as he is recuperating from a calf injury.

In case Junmar can't join the team in the 1st window, would Justin Baltazar be called as Junmar's replacement? If Junmar can't make it & Baltazar would once again be left out, then alams na natin.

i think he is just having a rest. i dont think CTC will replace him. in this window, he wont be playing heavy minutes so its fine if he is included.

Jordan find ways to find their successors.. we said that before when we tell who will be the successor of Abbas bros and Sam Daghles… I think they have some good players in their youth program plus some American-Jordanians who were been recruited by Daghles itself… they will be fine… in the end, only 12 will be chosen, as long others have large pool of players, only 12 can play…
