TC migh prefer tall ball with Carl at PF and JB at 3. But it depends on how JF holds up on D. So unlikely. If AJ were there probably. TC will probably try it. Remember he did not have a legit PF in his Gilas teams. He will surely try it. Although as a PF Japeth was probably better defensively than Carl will be.

With JB there, Tamayo’s playing time might be limited, And CTC is comfortable with Oftana… Against Hong Kong, for sure CTC will get more minutes for young players such as Kai, Quiambao and Tamayo to feel the system of CTC in real game… Oftana was proven last Asian games under CTC, so he will go Oftana first…

OT: SBP earned PHP 17 billion for their FIBA WC hosting last year plus PHP 1.9 billion worth of media value for Manila as host city... Some posters here before says FIBA WC hosting will not getting any income or loss of revenue... SBP cost for this event just more than PHP 1 billion for this event... That means SBP got 20 times more of revenue for this event...

read it properly, the article did not say SBP earned P17B, rather it had an economic impact on the country as a whole worth P17B. who knows if the SBP itself recouped the 1.9B that they spent, they didn't say anything about that.

How much money did Manny P himself shelled out of his pockets?

The upcoming window's expected result is fool's gold. Me thinks TC and SBP are in for a rude awakening come OQT
To be fair, no Asian team will have an easy time in that OQT group.

The SBP knows this and may just opt for avoiding a rout.

The upcoming ACQ window is winnable as long as they don't fuck it up.

Yeah, Taiwan are going to pack a punch. If we screw up, they might just end up beating us.

Personally, I totally agree on that confirmed(?) 12 guys for the next cycle(until 2027).

but realistically, 15 to 16 guys is the ideal line-up moving forward.

but on the other-hand we have to be realistic that serious money and investment are really the biggest challenge in assembling what will be consider as our A-team until 2027. even though both empire already joined forces on SBP they also had financial limitations unless they've allow and convince the likes of Lao's of SGA, Mascarinas of the CTG and Sy's of the SMDC empire to join the endeavour down to our youth team(boys/girls), 3x3 and Womens A team that would be great for the program, financially.

as for our usual wishlist, the likes of Balti, JHead, AK34(for exemption) and either Boatwright, Bey or J3 for naturalization spot despite their obvious weaknesses(for now) both offensively(free throws, jump shot, mechanics among others) and defensively, well, the important thing is the attitude of the players in the same breath as JB whom we all know has also inconsistencies on both end during his much earlier days in the local scene but with a good attitude he keeps on grinding and always listening on all coaches(e.g. CTC) the area he needs to improve on moving forward and we've seen the latest result during that BAD-GSM finals and that 2023 AG campaign.

Let's be patient if indeed, Granpa Al P's tenure will end up this Aug. 2024 we hope it will not be renewed because we badly need fresh ideas for our beloved NSA.

None probably. Manny P is an employee of Suharto's group. We don't even know how many he shares he owns of it. RSA in the meantime is the CEO of the SMC group and has accumulated a substantial amount of shares.

Well it always sounds like the money for JC's insurance comes from his pocket,so I and others thought he uses his own money in the Gilas shortcoming.

thailand might beat them.

I'm still not trusting Thailand... They are like Guam v.2... Most of their players are offensive oriented and no defense... System wise, Indonesia is already way ahead on them... They are already playing high level competition and already beating mid tier teams such as KSA, UAE, Syria and Kazakhstan... Thais can't even beat ISO ball style Guam team...

Is Jeremy Lin FIBA eligible or was he granted exemption by FIBA to play for Taiwan as a local player?

The lineup is similar to the last WCQ window plus Kai, Edu, and KQ. We started with:

Scottie
CJ
Dwight
Brownlee
Junemar

That was Chot ball. I believe CTC might opt for:

Scottie
Dwight
Brownlee
Malonzo
Junemar

JB32 is most dangerous when he plays his natural position at SF.

Not sure with this. Defensively that should be good in Asia-level. But offensively, Dwight at SG might cause some spacing problems. Not as bad as say if Thirdy were there. But Dwight's 30% 3FG is probably lower than other SG candidates. Dwight also played SG and PG for Tab's team. But Tab I guess is even more of a defensive oriented than Tim. That is my ideal as well but I'm just thinking that maybe TC would be more comfortable with a better 3 pt shooter at SG.

Additionally, this is where the need for a Heading comes in IMO. If Heading were there you could even put Dwight at PG. Dwight is probably not an inferior facilitator to Scottie.

Is Jeremy Lin FIBA eligible or was he granted exemption by FIBA to play for Taiwan as a local player?

He (Lin) will not get exemption case because he wasn't product of Taiwanese basketball program... He played his early days in Harvard, stays in US until 2018... So no chance...
