FIBA-Asia Cup 2025 Saudi Arabia

  • Thread starter Thread starter ja.he2
  • Start date Start date
SEABA (sans the Philippines) > FIBA-Oceania (sans Australia, New Zealand, and Guam)

Remember, Tahiti is the reigning FIBA-Polynesia champs.

How in a world Tahiti get that 96th rank by FIBA? Somethings strange.... And Vietnam only 134th?

TBH, sorry dude, but you're the first Greek poster here in IBN who follows Asia more than their domestic or continental competition. I honestly think that you're Robert, and if you are, it's okay.

hule amp HAHAAHAH

MOngolia is a great basketball market, decent stadium, should join 5v5 also but difficulties going to the next level is a problem

Guamanians can't do jack$h*t against better Asian teams. Lols

I think Guam will still lose big against lesser Middle East and Gulf teams (KSA, Bahrain, Syria, Palestine, Qatar, and Iraq).

mongolia has a population of around 3m and is not very accessible, i wouldn't call them a good basketball market. even SEA countries like laos, cambodia, myanmar are better prospective markets

True. Just look at how the NBA has been hyping India for more than a decade.

It's all about marketability.

I thought Guam is a decent team? why play like this? They underestimate the competition? I want them to lose if plays like this?

There were once a time Mongolia were hanging with the big boys way back late 90's early 2000s when there was still East Asian Games and/or East Asian Basketball tournaments where NTs ( Team As) from China, SK, Japan and CT were playing. That tournament upped their level.

I think they are not holding that tournament (or lost its luster) any longer and Mongolia shifted all their resources in 3x3 where they are World ranked.

Yes but billions of people means profits if you can tap the market.

The NBA is a business. It will always prioritize making profits.

MLB also tapped that market, as they thought Cricket is a cousin of Baseball. They held camps there that later produced 2 pitching prospects that can throw 100mph heaters. The even made a Disney movie about it, Million Dollar Arm

Main reason is because of this guy, 7 foot Japeth-like Sharavjamts Tserenjankhar

I wonder why the Bay Area Dragons players are not playing for Hong Kong.

Hey!!! Whazzup!!! What happened to my boy Will Navarro why he was cut? Actually i heard him before here in Greece that he should be part of Greece youth team.. But why he was dropped but his teammate there will join... Can't understand this?

Duncan Reid and Scotty Ewing are the only passport holder(both eligible as naturalized) among the HK based players, Glen Yang, Kobey Lam,Warren Liang and Hayden Blankley still has to acquire their HK passport..
