Does anyone have any idea on how to purchase tickets for the event?
The FIBA website directs me to Ticketek.com.ar It looks like any normal ticket buying website where you have to register, select your event, give credit card, and you have your tickets.
But I can't seem to register. The process to register is a bit strange. They ask for the normal things: name, email address, and to enter a password for your account. However, it instructs people who are not from Argentina to use their passport number as their password. They also ask you what type of document will you have (I assume so you can prove who you are in order to pick up the tickets) and it asks how many documents do you have, which I also find strange.
I still tried to do it a number of times. it sends me a message to check my email. I've tried this 4 or 5 times with different email addresses and different passwords. Only once did I get a return email, which said there was a problem with the registration and to contact their customer service.
Of course I sent a message to their customer service and sent a message. No response.
I also called them to try and purchase tickets over the phone and they told me that the only way to purchase tickets for FIBA is online. They were unable to help me with the website problem.
Does anyone understand what is going on? The website seems legitimate, I've read reviews for it in other websites (both good and bad) and Ticketek has an operation in Australia (of course I wrote to them and got no response). Any feedback would be helpful. It would be helpful too if there is anyone from Argentina who knows of another way to buy tickets. I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks
