Eurovision 2008

Lets hope Milius will win better place than 2002 super singer DJ ROCK DA HOUSE Aivaras Stepukonis

Well, seems like we all hate our representing song for this ESC.
This is the "Chosen One" for Israel - As If I'm Here:

I got two questions and one statement for this thread.

Questions:

1. Where will the Eurovision take place?
2. Will Albania take part?

Statement:

Kalomira forever!

That's a very good point. I heard something about the place being relocated elsewhere, with Finland offering its services. I think Eurovision will exhaust the chances to hold the event in Serbia, but I wonder how inevitable would it be for politics not to get mixed up. It's not only Albania (which I cannot see really showing up) but also Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey, the UK and some other countries that were overenthusiastic at recognizing Kosovo upon the declaration of its independence.

overenthusiastic?
I think Slovenia might be just about the only country where there has actually been a public debate about the negative effects of recognizing Kosovo's independence... while in the end it was told that as a president country of EU atm. we can't make a decision on our own anyway since we've got to wait for majority of countries and not recognise Kosovo too fast since that would be an akward solution when officialy discussing the matter with EU members that decided not to recognise Kosovo.

Afterall no other country has as big of a percentage of their overall investments abroad placed in Serbia as Slovenia does, if we consider by-pass investments throug Netherlands and some other tax friendly countries and exclude a one time investment by NordTelekom(or sth. like that) by 1.5 billion €, Slovenia might be near 2nd in national investments (=by capital's origin) there somewhere with Austria and Gemany, while I wouldn't be surprised if we got to no.1 place with all those off-shores investments from Kaymans, Gibraltar and such...(while it's also true we're one of the rare countries with actuall investments in Kosovo)... that also explains that if it's in anyone's interest to stabilise Serbia and to some extent related, keeping eurovision in Serbia- that's damn sure our interest...

my personal interest would be, cancel this eurovision stuff once and for all, I'm doing just fine since I managed to miss it for sth. like 5th or 6th consecutive year, but the wounds from the past are still open. Personaly if someone wanted to torture me, tie me up on a chair and make me watch eurovisions all the way from 70ies to the 07'- i'll commit suicide, guaranteed... even some bright spots as Željko Joksimović wouldn't save me... i could even cope with telletubbies 24/7 for a week and just gone to some mental institution later, but watching eurovision is a life threatening issue...

Slovenian singer already said if the event will take place in Serbia she won't be going there.

YES!! Lets totally destroy that evil country. After slicing its borders to the neighbours, I say we stop every other connection to them.

It was right after attacks on embassies, then nobody knew what happen next. Now I don't see any reason to move Eurovision elsewhere

Here is the Hellenic competitor if anyone cares...

how many times i heard this? another song to fill the one song of 1000 member with their "own" songs. unimaginable duplicate.

good that i stooped following this event, every year it gets more and more ridiculous. It should change the title to "the most ridiculous show contest" as it is not about songs anymore. But the country with which i am the most disappointed this year is Italy. i always had a big respect for them as they were smart enough not to participate in this circus. apparently they will send something this year after 11 years. gosh......
