SDNA reports that Can might be fired and Itoudis is the 1st option to replace him

I wonder if it's the same rumor that's just perpetuating itself, but this is getting louder. I can understand if Can is released, but I don't get the Itoudis choice. It will most likely fail as it did with Blatt, Ivkovic, etc.

For me it's even crazier that Itoudis would agree to accept team like Efes in the middle of the season when their results are like these ones and with the huge problems in the structure of the roster... I mean, none elite coach does that. I can't remember situation like this when big coaching name did that. I don't count Ivanovic, Perasovic, Spahija... Sfariopoulos ain't elite for me...Maybe Pascual at Pao? But that was in the 2nd round of the season:D:D:D but maybe Itoudis is just not big coach. Maybe he is just overhyped:p

Changing coach probably won't push Efes back in the game(or maybe will), but Can deserved such slap for immature playing with serious things

Minimum what honest people do in this situations is resign, but he isn's such type of person

Itoudis is elite coach imo, though I am still mad at him, because willbekin. We stucked with him 3 years

Though still it's not known who exactly brought him because Itoudis wasn't officially Fener's coach in that moment

The question is, would Can accept the demotion to assistant coach if Itoudis arrives?

Probably Itoudis won't accept, but there are also the current assistant coaches of Obradovic for Efes to approach. :p

The translator is just a wannabe copy of obradovic. Loseroudis has failed in fener, he should thank god he wasnt fired from csska at 2016 when he stole the title from fener with that lucky tip from khryapa. He would be the first to lose the final with 100-0 refs on his side and up by so many points in the half. Maybe only the other overhyped messina has done that in bologna at 2002. He even managed to lose playing at his home court and being up by 15 and the grey commandos on his side on a 5-8 final.

Loseroudis (aka translator) is destined to coach loserbiakos. A loser team with a loser coach, a team that cries for everything while being by far the most favored team in euroleague, with a coach acting like a clown in every play. That wont change much anyway, mr bean is an even worse clown than loseroudis

I think he should back to some BSL team and start from scratch
He failed big with big budget club, he isn;t capable to deal with this

If he managed to take at least one title last season with Telekom(EC or BSL) his position would be much stronger. This way he came as loser and will go as loser

I wrote about this before season

All these rumours about Dubai joining the Euroleague next season... and people still think Calathes won't get another big deal. :D

Calathes will probably manage to have bigger salary that Larkin ;)
DPG will have to sell his company in order to bring the players he has in mind and keep them away from Dubai.

I actually follow sometimes Gulf League and there plays Al Shabab from Dubai. It' basically BCL for Asia divided in multiple parts depending of the location. And anyway I didn't see one game with more than 500 people in the stands. And those who were in the stands were mostly foreigners. It's such a shame to do something like this. They should bring San Miguel Beerman and Xinjiang Flying Tigers also:confused:

That's interesting.
This Dubai team will likely have the budget to sign the best Euroleague free agents.

Dubai will enter but i read somewhere they will force them having a normal budget and also play in another league like ABA. they will probably bring many players from USA, who dont care about playing in europe or china or anywhere else apart from the NBA. whether that's dubai or real madrid doesnt matter for them as long as its not nba. they cant attract many players already playing in euroleague i think apart from americans or other like calathes that are on their last years and may get another big contract

If Pao can bring a player like Nunn who is so good for Europe but borderline for the NBA I bet that Dubai teams will be able to be stacked with “Nunn”-level talent. We’ll see how that works out.

I am actually not that convinced this is going to happen. When you look let say their football league there isn't a lot of stars. Actually they have a plan in football to sign young Brazilian guys literally when they are 17, 18 and move them to their academies. There are a lot of bunch unknown foreign players. And football is 50x bigger in UAE than basketball. They care only about money and EL is not profitable league. So it doesn't make any sense to me that they will throw 40, 50M euros per year for the budget+13M for the clubs with the licence and all other expenses for the sport that literally no one cares about in the UAE. I know 2 local people from UAE who are businessman and every 2nd word from them is "money". We will see, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if their project is something like Valencia, Asvel or even Darussafaka when they entered EL with that pretty average team.

Good points. I was making a bit of an assumption about their budget. :)
And I love your references to that Darussafaka team. Mediocrity that should never be forgotten. :D

some darussafaka 2016-2017 players:

scottie wilbekin, brad wanamaker, dairis bertans, james anderson, will clyburn, adrien moermann, luke harangody, marcus slaughter, ante zizic.

lost the play-off 3-1 against real madrid…

calling this team mediocre is unfair.

darussafaka project came to the end because dogus group became sponsor to fenerbahce after ulker.

I think Edgar and myself are thinking more of the 2015-16 team, which was definitely a notch below the roster in 2016-17. And remember how they ended up paying Erwin Dudley to be a "practice player"? :D

Yup. The team with Arslan, Redding, Preldzic, Gordon, Harangody, Erden... I saw that then and never again a team with 17 players of the same quality - average/below average.
