All PANATHINAIKOS fans expect the announcement for the departure of the lithunian clown.

As I have already written if indeed you have at your disposal all these millions to throw away, breaking the contract with him should be a joke.

So the reason why he is still part of the roster perhaps is that a definitive decision hasn't been taken yet about him.

Or we can keep him and end his career by keeping him out of action for a year cause he made fool of the team

I guess it's not that easy for you to attend Euroleague games, at least you are closer to Berlin ;)

Yeah it’s pretty annoying to be left out with all this hype haha. Up until I left 8 years ago, I always had a season ticket. Now I’ll have to settle for a game with Alba :p

And you can book F4 tickets as well ;)

The starting 5 look good, one of the best this season. We also have some good greek euroleague rotation players and some promising new players in euroleague (guy, balcerowski). The target is obvisouly f4, couldnt be any different anyway with this roster and the best coach in euroleague. After all euroleague is getting worse and worse every in terms of quality, so its not that hard to outstand in the competition. The top8 teams so far look to be (in not certain order) PANATHINAIKOS,real madrid, barcelona, efes, fener, monaco, partizan and maccabi with the rest being pretty far behind in terms of roster quality.

The only issue is that it may take a significant time to build a team out of this completely new roster. The F4 is too ambitious as a real target IMHO (even though I'm sure Ataman is already talking about the title). Reaching the PO stage is not that easy either.

As you mentioned there are at least 8 other solid, established teams (with Oly), and I respectfully rank PAO somewhere between 7th to 9th here (same as Efes). We'll see, it will be a very interesting season.

For me, a realistic target for Panathinaikos is to reach PO and also play enjoyable basketball. Surely, since we have completely new roster, it's difficult to be considered more competitive, however I feel that we can be more optimistic and expect a position around 5-8 ;)

Yesterday D.J said that the budget is 35 millions but it includes the money that will be spent in order to renew the OAKA palasport.

What really happened with Itoudis in Turkey?? Is it true that he was reported to the police for insulting his neighbour and the turkish nation?
Sorry, but I find it a little too funny to believe..:p

I completely agree with this assessment. I worry that the enthusiasm of summer will cause a lot of Pao fans to be very disappointed in the end, for no good reason. New team, new coach, new goals, sure we might succeed, but generally we have to face more homogenous teams than us. We should know better than act like new-money teams that believe that success can be bought.

Having a new roster means nothing. Efes had a new roster and went straight to final from 17th. Monaco reached the playoffs and was robbed from loserbiakos last year etc. The difference is that they dont have crowd, we even have that. Only reaching the playoff is not something to mention for a giant club like ours. even f4 is not a success unless we win it. Ending up 2nd or reaching the playoffs is ok for minor clubs like loserbiakos or zalgiris

This quote tells everything one needs to know about your understanding of basketball. In all honesty I hope you’re right and I’m wrong though.

i dont have to prove my basketball knowledge to people like you dude. after all, the only thing you do is just critisize others, while you bring no arguments on the table. i mentioned teams, that proved that having a new roster means nothing. what did you do? nothing. as always.

loserbiakos was a good team with (by far) his 2 best players gone. will be funny seeing them trying to reach even 75-80 in their games next season without a single scoring option and pretty bad shooters

Ataman took that last-placed Efes team before the new season. He had two pillars in Simon & Dunston to build on.
Obviously, PAO wants to get back to the titles, and the crowd is indeed a big factor, but this roster, IMHO, is not that convincing even for F4, especially right away.

hey, I've been terribly wrong many times.

PS. I really like Maccabi by the way, since last season, and they're a bigger favorite for getting back to their glory days
