European Competitions 2023/24 - Signings & Rumours

I am not as pessimistic as Toruko but it’s clear we are lacking the star power. Guduric has never been that guy. Our centers are soft and/or unreliable, even though they have upside. Hayes and Pierre were amazing for most of this year, but we will see if it continues or if it were a fluke. Dorsey I had big hopes but Itoudis had issues with him for some reason. Finally Wilbekin was injured when he was needed the most, but again he’s also very much on/off depending on the day.

We can still be very good, especially since our biggest issue was playmaking at half court and Neto is a clear upgrade there over Calathes and Guduric, but come playoff time we will have to see if we will have anyone stepping up.

For me, the real question is that if it's a done deal for so long, why did he make Partizan believe that he would sign with them? Did dpg make him do it for revenge for Punter's case?? :p

Yes, this doesn't make sense. saras wants to appear as if he has some secret insider information that no one has but in the end if he is correct it will be through a completely outlandish set of events.

Pangos was the man you are talking about, creator, leader, clutch player, good in everything. Injury prone yes, but sometimes you have to take some risk.

If we did it with player like Bjelica I don't see any reason why not with Pangos, who is elite EL player. Even Dorsey with him could be 30% better

Maybe Neto is that guy too, I don't know yet, he is rookie in EL and I don't like that

Objectively it is difficult to immagine who else could pay Mirotic the salary he asks for, excluding Panathinaikos.

It would be a big surprise if he won't be the new star of the green team.

I have no idea. I was really starting to like the prospect of Shengelia-Barcelowski.

Panathinaikos has less than 24 hours to decide whether they will bring Balcerowski for 500 000 euros buyout or not. If we have a deal with Mirotic then I don't think Balcerowski is the option. Would need different player at C then IMO. Hopefully this saga will be done tomorrow so we can focus on the remaining spots in the team (SG, starting SF) and close the roster.

You my friend need to do a lot better job on reading comprehension because I wasn't fighting with anyone. In fact, I post very rarely on this thread, so rarely that it's impossible to make it suffer. Everything I wrote yesterday turned out to be true and related to this thread, and that discussion was, from my part, very polite.

It seems to me you have some agenda that you are unsuccessfully hiding behind this puritanical nonsense of yours. I'll stop here because I'm reading you very well.

My friend, there is no agenda. There is a wish that this thread serve it's purpose, and that's euroleague basketball transfers, rumours and rosters. You weren't here when Greek fans did the same thing, basically some posters said that their team is always the best and always the victim, and other fans said the same. It's like you spoke Chinese and someone else spoke German, I mean you wrote your facts and other side wrote theirs, and that's all. That's just boring, and that discussion don't belong to this topic, that's all. I'm sure you guys have plenty of your boards for that kind of discussion. Now, I don't like basketball rivalries, simply too much hate for me. I mean, it's like nationalism, we are always right and they are, of course, always wrong. :) I'd like to read stuff about other clubs too, like where Juancho will go or what will Real do regarding their center position. :)

But seriously where can Mirotic go? Milano signed Poythress, Kamagate, re-signed Hines, Voigtmann and Melli are staying. There is no place for him there. Olympiacos signed Sikma and said they are done with Mirotic. Monaco re-signed Motiejunas, signed Jaiteh, Hall and J.Brown re-signed and they brought Cornelie. Same like Milano, I don't see him there. Panathinaikos has space and needs starting PF...He said he doesn't want to be in the toxic enviroment with the fans so Greece maybe not his most desirable destination but honestly I don't believe in his reasons about some threats for not joining Partizan so anything can happen. And I don't see absolutely any other team that want and will sign him. Maybe Bayern will for once splash some cash? I've no idea...
I guess we can shuffle the younglings in our roster a bit, and let the poor guy in.

Not likely, but if Mr Ozilhan feels like it, he may just pull the trigger. No threats, no headache, no drama over here, if that's what Mirotic wants.

I don't know. The whole Euroleague is without stars more or less. We're talking a lot about Mirotic, but he's far away of his prime. Larkin without Micic, is just a chucker, James the same. Willy is good, but he needs the system to be really good. Tavares might be the player with the biggest impact, everyone else are out of their prime mostly. I believe anyone can win this year, the whole league went down to average. Everything considered, RM looks the best to me, mostly because Tavares is really a cheat code under Fiba rules.

The reigning champs added a top EL player and made no other significant changes. I think that alone makes them a favorite for this upcoming year.

Sure, on the other hand granpa trio is one year older, and F4 format is really unpredictable.

As SDNA reports, Mirotic is deciding between Milano and Monaco. I've no idea where are they going with all those players in the front court but whatever. Hopefully this means Shengelia to PAO and great players on the remaining spots with the money saved for the Mirotic's salary.

According to SDNA Pao is still on stand by for Shengelia but according to Encestando he will not leave Virtus. Also it should be obvious by now but Pao didn't move forward with Balcerowski.

So, neither Mirotic nor Shengelia or Balcerowski for PAO??

Balcerowski 100% no since the buy out deadline passed.
Toko, I think it still depends on Virtus. I have read that since we've made an agreement with the player, if he manages to deal with Virtus in an appropriate timeframe, he'll comr

Mirotic, I don't know but I truly believe that if he didn't choose Serbia for the toxic environment, he is not coming to Greece, not even for vacation :p
