Edgar is too harsh on Banchi. I liked the basketball Virtus was playing under his command and everything is better than Mijatovic. Even I would have made a much better job.

Also I have no idea what will happen with Grigonis. He has a contract till 2027...but idk. I wouldn't be shocked to hear Ataman will not count next year on him. If Osman and Yurtseven keep playing like this then they should stay. I think Osman will be better and better this season and I think he will get multiple year contract. Not sure about Omer. Other positions are secured with Lessort and Juancho staying.
They had great 1st part of the season and then they collapsed. Idk, for me the only good job he did is with Latvia. I remember him very well when he was in Milano. He had by far the best team in Italy and won one title and he doesn't even know how. Langford and Gentile were doing whatever they wanted. Now Clyburn was doing the same. He is not offensive minded coach and now you give him Efes' coaching spot where you have so many offensive talent...I can bet everything that in a few weeks you will see Smits and Darius playing 25-30 minutes each game. Wherever he was a coach he didn't make a result. But we will see, but honestly, Mijatovic disappointed me a lot. When they told him he will be sacked he had to tell them to f off. After this he will never ever coach any EL team but it seems he feels nice in Istanbul and doesn't want to leave...I remember when DPG said almost the same to Pedoulakis, and Argyris left immediately and didn't even want to hear anything.
Yurtseven profits heavily from Nunns gravity and he is doing a great job offensively sealing guys under the rim in one on one. I knew always that he has a huge offensive upside but I cant imagine him to stay in Athens to play behind Lessort just for 10 minutes. Its a very good year for him to show his value but hell go somewhere else where he can at least play 20-25 minutes.
Ataman could surprise with Grigonis (the Lithuanian cyclist) because he loves guys who can play pick and roll games from the forward position and stretches the floor but he is injured most of the time.
I agree mostly with the rest.
Exactly. If he stays he will probably want huge money and for 10-15 mins I don't see a point of paying him. I can see him in Fener next year. He would be great for them especially as a Turkish player.
Nah, they have a long-standing beef with him
Fener has a problem with everyone anyway, but I don't think he's ever going back there.
The new signings for the front court this season turned out to be very bad signings for Efes. Vincent Poirier as well as Rolands Smits must be exchanged in the new season.
The first guy that comes in mind for the replacement is without a doubt Omer Yurtseven. His liabilities on the defensive end are concerning though. But I have another name in mind. The SMU 7'2 Big Samet Yigitoglu is ready to play Euroleague right away. He is a defensive minded, fast legged, hard playing big who does not shy away from contact and his BBIQ is growing from day to day.
Offensively, he does not offer very much but he runs fast and finishes with high percentage under the rim. His touch is not great. He is comparable to Papagiannis just in that point but Unlike Big George he is a rebound monster in the making. He surely could play 15 years high level basketball.
Wait, the same guy who played in Besiktas? How much he improved because in Besiktas he was egggghhhh (if we mean at the same player)
Real signed Dennis Smith Jr. I might be completely wrong but for me this is a VERY BAD transfer. I watched him so many times. He needs ball in his hands. Will he get the ball with Campazzo, Musa, even Hezonja and Llull on the court? Ok, he can play from the bench but you brought him to play him 10-15 mins? Also, with no defensive 3 seconds rule he will not have a space to do what he does the best and that's going at the basket. He was always a bad shooter, he was always doing a bad decisions and he is not even average defender. We will see, maybe he will give everything because if he flops here his NBA career is probably done but I think they had much better options than him from the G-league if they really wanted to buy someone.
Dennis Smith Jr. is never a good choice. I have been watching him since his time in NC-State where he played together with Omer Yurtseven. Yurtseven could only play 9 games in that season if I am not mistaken. It is how you described it.
