He earned more than 2.5 M in CSKA. But I think that he wants to come back to Spain (Valencia and Málaga are interested).

MrRager, I have heard that Stauskas has the passport (3 grandparents from Lithuania). But if not, he can demand the double citizenship according the rules (left Lithuania prior March 1990).

He can demand I think, but that means he has to give up on Canadian citizenship, or not ?

I'm excited about this signing.

I can't see why and he's most definitely not a Pedoulakis kind of player. He had attitude problems and was knows as a diva (or diva-wannabe) in the NBA even.

PS But if this is confirmed won't it be a great victory of Euroleague over CBA?:rolleyes: Poor CBA, can't hold onto its best players when the mighty euroleague money show up!

Dual (double) citizenship can be allowed in Lithuania in exceptional cases only.

The cases when dual citizenship is allowed in Lithuania include:

1. A person was deported from occupied Lithuania prior to 11 March 1990 or is a descendant (a child, a grandchild or a great-grandchild) of a person deported from occupied Lithuania prior to 11 March 1990;
2. A person left Lithuania prior to 11 March 1990 or is a descendant (a child, a grandchild or a great-grandchild) of a person having left Lithuania prior to 11 March 1990;
3. A child acquires dual citizenship at birth;
4. Child-adoption cases;
5. Marriage cases;
6. Acquisition of citizenship of Lithuania in exceptional cases or by a person having a status of a refugee.

So no, he doesn't.

The signing is an enigma but I have a good feeling about it. We'll see.

I've really missed us having a killer shooter in the team.

I have to agree with Oly_fan in this one.

He is obviously an incredibly talented scorer but he has only proven himself at the NCAA and China level.
He is an infamously bad (unwilling, in addition to his mediocre athleticism) defender.
At the moment he is a better version of Mike James in my book. I hope I'm proven wrong.

I am not excited, but as EverGreen said, it's been a long time since we had such a great shooter on the team.
Maybe Calathes can play defense for both of them and Jimmer can score for both :p

Let's hope this works.

Reading this thread, I have concluded that Westermann's defense is either terrible or good, and he's either a shit player or a great contributor. :D

80 Overall, 91 potential, 76 Defence. In my sight, he is not brave enough however i am sure he will produce some good under Obradovich hands.

Have you guys listened to the podcast he does with the Euroleague? Really interesting and often funny too.
A few, yes, he's pretty good at it. The one prior to this year's F4, for example.
He used to do pre-game interviews for EL TV, and I think he was commentating as well.

I have to admit that i did not play Nba-anyK : )

Ha, no problem. It has been interesting reading the different assessments of Westermann's abilities. I know he's had a couple of bad injuries but CSKA did sign him as a potential Aaron Jackson replacement back in 2017 so clearly they thought he had defensive potential.

couple of pages back you said de colo/his family wants to come back to spain as well.
it seems like all the players want to live/play in spain

If it's true, then CSKA needs at least 2 sensational transfers on this season if they want to stay as an F4 level team. They had 4 great players (Rodriguez, De Colo, Clyburn, Higgins) , and they lost 3 of them in just one year.

They definately seem to have regressed in the quality of players that left compared to those who came.

The favorites for the EL roster wise are RM, Barca and Fener. CSKA is a level down.

I don't know who will take Melli's place but Fener's guards (DeColo, Sloukas, Westermann, Dixon and Melih) are probably the best combo in the league.

I still think Singleton would be the best option for Fener to take Melli's place. I think Zoc would take his game to a different level.

I have heard Singleton wanted too much money from us but not sure if true
