This is really exciting! So much has changed since the last season, and I’m sure even more will change before it begins. I just hope I can find the right betting site that suits me, so I can place my bets on the games.

Yeah, I'm definitely interested in betting on games too. A friend of mine mentioned that Stake Casino is pretty good. Have you given it a try?

I’ve heard about Stake, but I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. Is it any good?

It's crazy 4 experts didn't mention Serbia among EB 2025 and 2 of them mentioned Slovenia. Makes me doubt they are good experts.

And finally, the big one: who is actually winning it all in in 2025?

IC: France. Do you really need an explanation for this? They have an Olympic gold to tackle at home before the next FIBA EuroBasket, they've got the most exciting youngster in a long time with Victor Wembanyama, and the fact they failed so bad at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 could serve as a reminder to bring their A-game day in, day out. That's a scary reminder for the rest of the world.

DH: Early favorites? Well you still have the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments and Paris Olympics to add more storylines. But hard not to look at Spain, France, Germany and Slovenia as well as Greece with Vassilis Spanoulis at the helm. And if I had to pick one: when it doubt, go with Spain.

JT: As good as Germany have been the past two summers, I think they can be even better by EuroBasket 2025. They will have continuity, self belief and the experience of having reached the podium in 2022 and the world title triumph in 2023. Two other title contenders - France, with Victor Wembanyama, are going to be scary. Ditto Slovenia with Luka Doncic.

TT: Germany all the way. I know it is too early, but the World Cup winners are my favorites to win everything in the next few years. Amazing roster, players that combine many different characteristics, shooting bigs, versatile forwards, off screen shooters, physicality and some great leaders. What else could you ask from a team?

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

What I think is that, assuming all teams come in full rosters, Serbia, Germany and France are class better than rest of teams and medals will be shared between those teams. But that's just theory, it doesn't mean it will be like that. Spain is still dangerous, as well as teams like Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Turkey, but it would take a real improvement from these teams and possibly playing well above their level to be a serious threat to Serbia, Germany, France and maybe Spain. I can't see how Slovenia is going to make a noise at Eurobasket. All their role players are pretty much washed up and not enough. When they add a few new quality players next to Doncic, then we can talk about them seriously. They have interesting young players/talents but still too young to play at Eurobasket.

My rough power ranking looks like this

Tier I
Serbia (if Jokic is on board)
France

Tier I B
Germany (Because of lack in the center position)

Tier II
Spain
Turkey
Latvia
Greece
Lithuania.
Italy

Tier III
Slovenia
...

Spain still has elements to be very solid but the country lacks top notch star players. We can debate about Turkey and I might lack utter objectivity but I dont care. Latvia is my dark horse.

About Greece: its all about Giannis. The team is too old and I dont expect Sloukas to participate.

Lithuania: they can give a good fight but the back court is too weak and they also dont have the skill set of the German team. But Lithuania is always Lithuania.

Turkey: I have a very good feeling with a ready Shane Larkin. I dont fear the offensive side but our defense was always a problem. I just dont want a group of death and no France in the group please god please.

If Turkey wins a medal in the Eurobasket 25 I will dance like the jiggly boy enthusiastically. :D

I see it this way, if fully packed teams:

1. Serbia (no weak spots and best player in the world, best Euro SG)
2-3. Germany (Wagner's tremendous growth, no weakness essentially, Schroder still a beast).
2-3. France (Wemby growing, Caulibaly growing, Maledon growing, lack of true world class guard, but Wemby and wing Caulabily might compensate that)

Then there's no point of ranking teams, one big tier of pretty much the same quality teams, but I would go like this:

4. Latvia (Porzingis in).
5. Greece.
6. Lithuania.
7. Spain (they lack guards badly, Nunez is not balling yet, so if they won't sell their ass with naturalization they will struggle)
8. Turkey.
9. Slovenia.
10. Italy.

Tier 1 Serbia,France,Germany

Tier 2 Greece,Spain,Italy,Lithuania,Latvia,Slovenia,Croat ia,Turkey (All these teams can beat each other and wont be no big upset)

Tier 3 Finland,Montenegro,Poland,Czech,Georgia (they can beat somebody from tier 2 teams once per tournament but wont be able to win multiple of such games)

Eurobasket its mostly about 2 games its: 1/8 and 1/4 and which teams handles their nerves better and who has better perimeter leader often is 2 critical things.

about big 3 NTs my 2 cents:

Serbias best player in fiba was Bogdanovich last 10 years. He will be 33 in 2025 that age when decline starting for most guards.Without monster Bogdanovich 20+pts and his clutch shooting in playoofs games Serbia is beatable .But for me they still is best bet because still will have Jokic at peak.

France will be loosing alot of veterans that made all those 3 recent fiba finals for them like : Batum,Decolo,Gobert,Albicy, head coach more less done not sure how long Fournier will be playing.

This was very big part of their NT.They always will have athletes but these players gave them brain and experience of winning to go with those athletes and made this very strong combination

They will bring younger and way less experience team and that easily can be reason they will lose some 1/8 or 1/4 in 2025.

Germany this olympic cycle 2022-2024 will be remembered as their golden basketball times.

For them it all will depend for how long speed demon Schroder 1m85 at 32 old can still be such monster ? similiar size player Tony Parker started loosing it at 33 in 2015 eurobasket and it was over very soon.

Thats why i think Germany 2025-2028 wont be even close to results they shown in 2022-2024. Schroder gonna suddenly look old for those speed tricks he did in 2022-2024 and one Wagner wont be enough to medal.

The Eurobasket 25 will be more competitive overall. There is no Spain with the guards and the Gasol brothers in their primes. Everyone is beatable on a good day. But no team is so balanced and offers a far reaching skill set like Serbia. There is no obvious weakness in the team.

Germany is understandably rated very high as a team. Germans have a good team but this time I have a feeling they will under perform.

I expect a very dominant performance of Wembanyama though and also from our Sengun. Latvia is my dark horse. They were so close beating Germany the last time. The question is will they be able to deliver younger players to take over.

Latvians is always like dark horse. But its impossible to guess when their shooting style will work and when is just chaos and they lose playoofs game by 20 points.

But its interesting discusion who will be in 2025-2028 like Germany was in 2022-2024?

Nobody in 2021 saw this comming from Germany what run they had in 2022-2024.

from tier 2

Italy looks on decline what i saw in 2024 summer.

Croatia in 2024 summer looked way better than Slovenia did with Doncic.

Greece and Lithuanian havent made a semifinal like forever. At some point they gonna make it again.

Spain is Spain and even with average tallent last 2 summers it took Canadas 10 nba players barely eliminate them by 3 points.

Turkey didnt played in 2023 and 2024 summers. So i didnt saw their A team hard to talk about them.

Toruko tell me your 5 best players for 2025?

Its not difficult to get a great team with two NBA guys and with solid Euroleague role players. They had Dennis Schroder who started using his brain after the 2019 FIBA WC and making his shot, then a great two way player like Franz Wagner, a shooting big like Moritz Wagner + many solid Euroleague guys and they keep developing great assets. They will also be a tough team to beat in the future. Replacing Schoder wont be easy though.

Italy looks on decline what i saw in 2024 summer.

I fully agree.

Croatia in 2024 summer looked way better than Slovenia did with Doncic.
Slovenia has washed up vets who are in deep decline in their careers. Doncic cant be everywhere. Croatia lacks a solid decision maker, they will always give a hard fight but fail somewhere in the 1/8 finals or 1/4.

Greece and Lithuanian havent made a semifinal like forever. At some point they gonna make it again.
Lithuania lacks star level players. Lithuanians always play with hard and solid attitude but fail in the last quarter, lack of quality players in the back court is the reason imo.

Greece is an interesting case. Giannis is 30 years old. The next tournament will be 2027 and the Olympic games 2028. He will be 33 by then. I strongly doubt that he will be at the highest level at the age of 33. Good prospects has been rare in Greece in the last 10 years but Greece has always find a way to be good. Giannis was a lucky case for them though. Finding such a guy wont happen again.

Spain is Spain and even with average tallent last 2 summers it took Canadas 10 nba players barely eliminate them by 3 points.

They have to replace their back court. We will see how the new guys like Nunez adapt. They wont dominate anymore but they can stay high level. They have many guys who will enter the NBA very soon.

Turkey didnt played in 2023 and 2024 summers. So i didnt saw their A team hard to talk about them.
2023 we had Serbia and Greece in our qualification group and most of our guys were in the NBA. Luckily most of them have returned to Europe but we also fail every time to gather our team. 2024 it was Larkin and Osman but for 2025 everyone has promised to participate. Well see.

Toruko tell me your 5 best players for 2025?

Without considering the team strength it would be:
Jokic, Doncic, Giannis, Wembanyama, Franz Wagner or Porzingis or Sengun (not sure but Franz has the advantage of having Schroder in his team)

Considering the team strength it looks like this:
Jokic, Wembanyama, Franz Wagner, Sengun, Porzingis

Question was more about todays 5 best turkish players to judge their NT strenght because they didnt played in 2023 and 2024 summer :)

About best fiba 5players overall.

Jokic,Giannis,Doncic,Wemby,Shai is super tallents top 10 nba calibre dudes. They are like in diffrent category. Those 5 international players who would make USA A roster

Wagner,Bogdanovich impressed me alot in 2024 olympics from remaining fiba stars.

How they played in Olympics 2024 they easily be my choice over nba centers that always is less impactful in fiba for 5th and 6th best european todays list spots

Fiba coaches fear Wagner or Markannen or Porzingis shooting type bigs way way more than those Sabonis,Sengun,Vucevic nba inside 20pts bigs in fiba game

Sengun didnt show nothing to me in fiba to be put in same category with Wagner,Porzingis or Markannen.

When Wagner,Porzingis,Markanne plays in fiba they are scary as hell to handle them

Sengun has various ways to score plus he wont struggle much from the international three point line. He is also not the 20 points guy. Houston just cant stretch the floor and Sengun has to work way more than others, thats all. Sengun should be the in the top five in scoring in Eurobasket. Push shot from the mid range, turn around fade away shot, creation with solid foot work. He is the next Gasol and hell start in Eurobasket 2025

Its comming from Turkish biased fan :)

In my 2025 list Sengun would be somewhere at 8-12th best fiba players list. But he still need to show me that he is real star in FIBA . Other players i named they already did.

Fiba is so rich with 20pts nba scorers in 2020s like they never before.

If international fans would play game lets draft for eurobasket 2025 best players Sengun name wouldnt be choosen atleast till 8th or 9th picks.

Markannen and Wagner would be taken before him by most international fans for 2025 fiba tournament.

2022 eurobasket leading scorers;

1.Giannis 29,3pts
2.Markannen 27,9pts
3.Vezenkov 26,8pts
4.Doncic 26,1pts
5.Schroder 22.1pts
6.N.Jokic 21.7pts

i wouldnt be so sure about Sengun being in top 5 in scoring because field will be loaded :)
