Qualifiers started today, possibly the worst qualification system in all major sports where 3 teams qualify in a group of 4, along with the existense of some groups where the host teams participate and are already qualified in the actual tournament.

Anyway a rather surprise result in Spain as the hosts lost to Latvia, in all other games the favoured teams won.

It may be a surprise, but it's not a big one. Latvian team is coached really well, and they have been playing together for years, unlike many other teams in this format of competition. On top of that, they have respectable and quality players who can compete with anyone. On the other hand, Rubio has just come back and it's clear he will need some time to shape up. Plus, not many Spanish players are having good seasons thus far. I was surprised that Nunez wasn't in the roster. He is developing nicely in Ulm, and could be a valuable asset for Spain at least in these windows.

Nunez desperately needs a break. After he won the Championship with Ulm in mid June, Nunez played U20 Eurobasket and the World Cup before he went straight back to Ulm to begin the preparation for this season. He is basically doing the Pedri in 2021.

Agreed, Latvia is a top team and they seem to be highly underrated. IMO they are the best Baltic national basketball team at the moment. They only lost to World Champion Germany by one basket. And they were playing without Porzingis.

They also qualified flawlessly in last World Cup qualifying tournament. Beating Greece rather easily in Greece.

No, no surprise they beat Spain in Spain. Latvia could be a top 5 team in Europe.

Latvia are already qualified as hosts so you'd think beating Spain away is a surprise result, also by comparing the 2 squads.

On a side note. The Greek coaching staff is sidelinening almost all EL players against the Netherlands. Not sure if this roster can do the job in The Hague. Which in itself makes it more exciting and less predictable.

But some were complaining about the previous format, not having the opportunity to include NBA and Euroleague players. Well, now we do have EL players and national teams decide to rest them. They are only used against the better teams. Which is perfectly understandable as one wants to integrate more players in the national teams. But it goes to show that it’s not easy to change something.

Imo 3 out of 4 teams qualifying for Eurobasket is problematic.

Wasn't Turkey just one shot away from missing Eurobasket 2025 in few moments generally? Dude, they missed 2023 WC, they will miss 2024 Olympic qualifiers, and they can barely qualify to EB 2025. After that the gap year and who knows if they can make 2027. Turkish basketball is barely breathing ATM.

This is because all our scorers are in the NBA rn. Without a prep time and players without a carrying role all games are on the brink of a loss. The country needs Euroleague level players or carrying players in lower competitions.

But talking about missing about participating in Eurobasket 2025 is nonsense.

Embarrassing and worrisome game of the team. Our guards cant beat anyone on 1 vs 1 and get to the basket. Sanli cant jump over two thick books and we lack shooting as well. Every player has its value but no player can influence let alone dominate a game. Defense is a catastrophe and the willing of playing hard as well.

I mean it's Iceland. They almost beat you. You lost against Italy already and Hungary is more competitive team than Iceland. It seems your hands are full competing with second rate teams. It's good that 3 teams qualify. If it would be 2, you would be in trouble.

Hungry is surely not better than Iceland. Iceland is a dangerous team in these competitions. We will qualify without problems but the game is not satisfying at all. We need some guys to return to Europe. Especially a big who can move a bit is desperately needed and our play maker problem remains. Need to solve that problem asap.

Don’t think there’s a single Turkish fan who celebrated the last bucket more than me, over hit with that Biberovic’s miracle

Turkey has been playing like that ever since the qualification system was brought on. They played an elimination game against Sweden in the previous Eurobasket qualifiers as well.

Considering the next 2 windows will be in between the NBA season it remains to be seen whether the Euroleague/Eurocup will have a NT break as it happened this time otherwise they might face a similar tough situation.

Dreadful games from Spain and Germany. They combined for 11/46 from three with Germany shooting 29% from the field. You would think that Bulgaria and Belgium needed to shoot the lights out to beat them on a bad shooting day, but the thing is that both Belgium and Bulgaria shot just 32,8% and 35% from the field respectively and still managed to win. Spain actually had higher FG% than Belgium. Those two games were real brick festival. I think Serbia will join them tonight with similar shooting form vs Georgia :D

The UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers began with a surprising result as Spain, the host nation, lost 1-0 to Latvia. This unexpected defeat highlighted the unpredictability of sports, much like how to train a mini goldendoodle, known for its friendly and predictable temperament, can sometimes surprise owners with bursts of unexpected energy or behavior. In contrast to Spain's stumble, other favored teams won their matches as anticipated.

The content provided on the Platicas Prematrimoniales Catolicas may cover various aspects essential for a successful marriage, such as effective communication, conflict resolution, financial management, family planning, and understanding roles and responsibilities within the marriage. Additionally, given the cultural context of Mexico, topics related to family dynamics, traditions, and cultural expectations may also be addressed.

In this system, three teams qualify from a group of four, and some groups include host teams who are already qualified for the main tournament. A surprising result came from tree removal in Milton area, where the hosts lost to Latvia. In all other games, the favored teams secured their expected victories.

If the qualification system allows the teams to choose different rosters from game to game or window to window I am strong in favor to give young or unexperienced players the opportunity to play. Maybe a good mixure of experienced players and young talented players can give the teams the maximum out of these qualification games in terms of team development.
