Rudy, yes, but Llull and Rodriguez looked half-dead a couple months ago. I guess they were saving it for the crunch time

Well, also today they were looking quite tired in the last quarter. But Oly's errors gave them the additional psychological power to finish the game. Vezenkov's stupid 3pts gave them the kiss of life.

Spain NT won eurobasket 2022 playing very risky zone defence too

I would say Scariola zones a bit more complex, but that doesnt change reality.

Spain basketball playing zone defences in shooting era and still winning everything only spanish basketball experts can explain how and why

Scariolo is playing box and one defense, a combined one on one defense and zone defense. Confusing if you are not expecting it.

That's how he beat Serbia in 2019. You cut off the best player/shooter on the perimeter (Bogdanović in that case) and put zone defense on the rest of the floor.

Can we please take a moment to reflect on how cool Canaan is?

Canaan was great, but Oly was let down by their biggest strength - defense. They could have locked this game a lot earlier with better rebounding.

To be honest MVP and Sloukas can't win anything, like no role player in history could.

This feels like the cheapest title ever won in Euroleague history. It just seems unbelievable that one team can consistently win most important games by playing zone defense for 30 minutes.

You say the cheapest, I say it's up there with Oly 2012 in terms of balls.

How I'm not? What they have as main players?

I don't disagree with the statement that they are role players. I disagree that they couldn't win. What I mean is that Oly was a couple of different decisions away from getting the W. It wouldn't be a surprise if they won. It was the expected outcome.

I say cheapest because Real's defense was trash basically. A lot of good looks for Oly tonight. Most of their shots were wide open shots, those that they hit and those that they didn't. Real was just relying that they will miss, nothing else. But horrible defensive rebounding by Oly kept them close thoroughout the game. And of course, they used the chance they got.

They beat LTU 2022 in 1/8 putting box in one on best ltu guard Grigonis too.

Lithuania were making those open jumpers for like 34minutes and leading in score for like first 37min,but at the end ltu nt also started missing those jumpers in that always changing zone and lost after overtime

Similiar to todays Olympiakos lose. Leading in score like 95% of playing time. That style simply works for spanish basketball school.

Walkup 0/5
Sloukas 1/5
Vezenkov 2/8
Mckissic missing all 3 wide open threes in the 4th
Game over. They just needed one more. Someone had to join Canaan. And the whole 4th quarter Real was letting wide open shots for either Walkup or Mckissic. Nothing to take away from Mckissic though, I thought he was very good aside from those missed threes in the fourth.
