Two shots of Hollatz were last seconds shots but one was totally unnecessary. It was correct to keep him out in the second half.

Yeah, it's how you look on the game. For me, Efes played the best when Hollatz was on the court. He did great job in the defense. And when I know Beaubois and Bryant were on the court instead of him who only broke both baskets with the bricks then I feel he should get some more minutes. Especially with Lundberg and Belli scoring almost everything for Virtus at the end.

Its easier said than done to suspend Beaubois and Bryant to use Hollatz instead. He is a solid defender but very restricted offensive Player.

True, but if Mijatovic did that now he would be magician. Anyway he kept Bryant too much in the game. After that spell in the 4th qaurter when he missed open 2 pt shot, then crazy off rebound for him to miss open 3 pt shot and then unsportsmanlike foul on Shengelia 3 secs later should be enough to take him off. Efes has the worst frontcourt. I would literally pick frontcourt of Alba before theirs. Also they how wannabe leader in Larkin. :p

It will be interesting game in Vittoria on Friday... Virtus almost won previous one... Psychology will be important. Will Basconia bounce from trashing given by Maccabi or Virtus will come confident after away win... Story for Gabriel Garcia Markes...

There's a lot of grounds for optimism next season based on the past ten games. :)
some, yes. We will probably start from scratch, though. Team is old and certain names are too fancy to keep for this level, i.e. playoff contention.

Now, we have to wait 5.5 months to watch our teams in Euroleague again.. (:
hey, we can speculate and build dream rosters until then. and enjoy the playoffs without any stress.

After all I was only who predicted this loss in other thread. I am watching baketball 30 years and never saw such amateur approach like Efes this season. Coaches are very important and everything starts from them, then goes budget, fans etc

Efes with two clowns Can and Mijatovic should learn a lesson and bring serious coach next season
Mijatovic was not really the plan, you know. He had not even a first assistant role previously, let alone head coaching. You could see some smart moves and some rookie mistakes. Happens. We cannot blame him, he did well considering the expectations.

It's ok. He's busy re-watching the 2021 and 2022 finals.

haha, I should do that :)

I don't blame him a single second, just management that failed with maybe the one of the best roster
This roster deserved serious coach, Can and Mijatovic were amatear rookies with more then expensive toy

Well, Efes will have interesting summer. Larkin probably will stay, there are not much PG/SGs on the market better than him. Clyburn is a big question and Jones too(not sure he is good enough). Bryant has one more year contact if I rememeber well. He is still young. Depends on coach too.

Many things depend on the new coach, but if Clyburn stays, I'm not watching a single game.
Larkin, yeah, I know, they will probably want to agree to a reduced salary, but I'd let him go, too.
Jones has 1 more year, but he's most likely not planned for the next year.
Bryant has a contract, true, and I see no reason to release him. Great player.

Efes just needs decent coach with authority and knowledge asap. He will make his roster

Do you think Efes may be tempted to keep Mijatovic as head coach? Aside from the play-in, he got the results they were hoping for from Can.

Yes I think so, that's exactly what we can expect from Efes management, incompetent decision.
Mijatovic had one of the best roster in EL and still lost from team with 7 defeats in a row before that. It's not even problem lost game, but tactics,, system, ball movement, number of assists etc. He just let things go and wait if players could do something from isos, that's his tactics. But I agree with you, that is exact coach profile what Efes's management wants. He will stay imo

What about Alimpijevic for potential Efes coach? (not rumour, just think out loud)
He is in Turkish basketball for 4 years, had amazing EC season with Bursaspor and solid one with Besiktas. He is still young and promising coach but i think that Efes need some big name and coach with autorithy to handle this team, not sure how Alimpijevic could do it but i would like to see that tbh.

I hope Larkin will move to us next season and I will stop to even comment Efes anymore. Club with Can and Mijatovic on the bench and such stars on the court is shame for basketball world.

There is rumor about Fener's offer to him but it's to early

@Coinho

Alimpijevic is good coach but I am not sure about Besiktas's plans for next season, they even hope for wildcard

How he had one of the best when you wrote multiple times that Efes has the worst frontcourt and that Clyburn is horrible player? Also you have doubts about Darius Thompson...and he didn't sign anyone...

Mijatovic is clown without clue about basketball. The post about the worst ftontcourt was before Oturu came, you have my post a few days ago about current Efes's frontcourt. You are the only guy on planet who likes Jones for instance. I realy don't understand your perception of good and bad player

You like Clyburn probably, he is your type

Of course Efes has one of the best rosters, but for pulling maximum was needed coach with balls and authority to limit Clyburn and to force ball sharing. Just 8 assists against Virtus and you ask after game what Mijatovic did wrong. You have somehow some problem with understanding that basketball is team sport, it's not just Clyburn, Larkin or whoever

Again, for the 65th time, THANKS FOR THE LAUGH!

you think Oturu is transfering Efes frontcourt from the worst into what, average or good? Can played Oturu and you weren't happy with Can. Mijatovic came, Oturu is injured, team starts to play good. He gives more chance to Osmani and Pleiss, less to Oturu and team is 8-2. Oturu plays against Virtus and he gets blocked 4 times in 2 mins. Was Mijatovic supposed to keep him on the court after that? As I said before, you probably didn't watch the game. Even if you have problem why he didn't play more in the games before, Mijatovic has 8-2 and no one should say anything. Oturu is horrible in the defense. He can block shots and that's it. P&r defense horrible, post-up defense horrible, switching even worse! Not to mention that he can't set the proper screen. He makes literally every game offensive fouls while trying to set the screen. But you just look on the numbers. I said like 10 times for Jones that he is bad, not EL level, even in the summer. But the truth is from all the big guys he played the best against Virtus.

Clyburn since Mijatovic came played incredible. Against Virtus he scored 1st 17 points. If he didn't play Efes would lose by 20. Again, what was Mijatovic supposed to do? Take him off after he scored 1st 17 points and after he is the best player in the last games so you can be happy? He should put Bryant who was horrible?

Again, you don't say anything about your Larkin who was horrible. Truth is, Mijatovic in 10 games had 8-2. In Turkish league he is 1st, defeated Fener. Only bad thing you can say about his results is pretty much easy win for Fener in the Turkish Cup final. That's it. Clyburn seems like a different player with him. Bryant had the best game of his career. Osmani became menace for the opponents. Hollatz is new nice addition. And he did that all in 2 and half months. And all we can hear from you is crying and crying when he actually brought Efes from the 16th place to 9th, secured HCA in Turkey and some players finally started to play like they should. It's not his fault that in the crucial game, Larkin who is the best paid player in the Europe started to run from the ball and had 5/14 shooting night with crucial turnovers in the last minute.
