Philippines can easily fill an arena with 20,000 people with a USA game.

Turkish fans are dissapointing. An empty arena on a USA game. That's a first since they sent college players. Incredible, a metropolis of 15 million inabitants and an empty arena. :(

Probably still hung over from yesterday's win.

Game finally (mercifully) ends. Angola without their leading scorer seemed lost from the start, though Gomes (sp?) impressed me, I hope someone gives him another opportunity following the tournament.

Game on Thursday regardless of who we play will be much different though. Still survive and advance as Jimmy V used to say.

Well, lets hope. Because the European teams that have played the USA so far have played dumb (shooting threes all game long in hopes of winning). Brazil is the only team that has played the USA the right way -> slowing the game down and p&r USA to death. Hopefully the remaining teams approach USA the same way because they'll most likely win.

"Most likely"? Most likely the European teams, as well as most any other country, will have trouble with the speed, defense and skill of the USA. I love how simple you all think it is for you to beat the USA, yet so rarely do it.

How many fans does Angola have in Turkey? Probably less than the amount of fingers on my hands.

There's no secret that the teams with small fan support get less attendance.

Yes ,I agree with you, Thursday will difference for US probably with NZ

Team Angola played against much stronger US team on Beijing olympics and lost by 21 point.
So all those 50-60-70 point US wins from this thread are stupidity at it's best.
I just hope Cipriano will play the game, he is real fun to watch.
Besides, four eightfinal games were played and all pre game favorites won their games.
It's time for the underdog to finally win one.

Yes, those stupid Americans. Good call. When can I start railing against the "arrogant Euros" like you all do so hypocritcally against us?

Please!! Eric Gordon and Derick Rose are mediocre shooters, they are nailing it because there is no defense from Angola. US won't keep this percentages vs. Euro Teams.

Rose yes, but Gordon a mediocre shooter? He was invited to join the roster because of his outside shooting ability. He just hasn't had the playing time.

Never. We get to be arrogant, since we have more history :p

Limited inside game for the US despite squaring off against a much smaller team. How will the US answer the zone defenses of Euro teams?

Quickness, speed, accurate 3 points, and pressure defense. They beat two Euro teams (Croatia & Slovenia) in the Prelims by huge points.

+1..i'm sick and tired of the double standard the US faces when it comes to int'l ball. I know everybody likes to root against the best teams but please have some sense of fairness when evaluating them. this particular team has done nothing but play hard and respect their opponents.

OK, Rose is a mediocre shooter, but Gordon?
this Gordon?
and this Gordon? I wouldn't call him mediocre.

Man this game made me realize Group A was the weakest group of this tournament.

USA and Slovenia won rather easily their games, while Croatia lost by only a point to Serbia.

Brazil will win their game against Argentina.

by calling them dead donkeys? :D

That's exactly why it should be held in places like the Philippines where the fan base respects the sport enough to support all teams, not just the home team. To be fair to Turkey, I don't remember in my lifetime any World Championship where non-home team or non-regional (countries outside the region where the championship is taking place) teams got a ton of fan support.

Well I for one am looking forward to a more competitive game against the U.S. These large margin wins are cute, but don't cut the cake when it comes to bragging rights.

I hope Russia vs NZ is a one-sided blow out so we can see how either side does against the U.S.
