the way I observe it, the people in the EASL are seriously telling the PBA and our local stakeholders that they are seriously telling them "hey buddy(s), I hope next time please send your trump cards on this tournament because we are very serious on the Philippine Market".

that is why they decided to stage those crucial games here instead of other venues/country.

does those PBA Grandpa will oblige to so someting moving forward?

let's see there's a PBA doubleheader today.

oh well.

Bush league move by the pba, should have rescheduled today's games in support of the easl. This grandpas think too high of themselves

EASL's CCO Mark Fischer said, "The current system will be maintained until next season. Our plan is to double the size and have 16 teams participating from next season. We are also looking to have growing Southeast Asian teams like Vietnam and Singapore join us."

let's see if abando and jeremy lin can draw crowds

But in fairness, Cebu did a good job hosting EASL games... I think it's time that CEBU should host next Gilas home game in November... Gilas fans are not just in Manila... Cebu proved now that they can capable on hosting FIBA events.. especially that Hong Kong will be our next home game assignment... Manila fans might have no interest on that match, since HK is a minnow team in Asian basketball... So give it the hosting duties in Cebu... Pabaon na rin sa mga Gilas fans down south... Hotel accommodations are also near in the Arena and good arenas too... Hoops dome in Cebu is much better than most of other countries main Arena for their FIBA hosting...

The person who planned this type of access must be a fan of NFL,the only thing missing is the owner's box, where the high paying guys actually can watch in a suite with as much as 12 people and walk to their padded heated seats, with access to ipads. https://youtu.be/nT-DpxVmqC0?si=cPsR4nSIeFlg1vpy

In fairness, SBP should give next Gilas home game in Cebu... The Arena is good (better than most of main arenas of other FIBA teams)... Di lang Manila ang Gilas fans... Especially the next home game vs Hong Kong, I think fans will have no interest there, since it will be a lopsided... Good reception, the accommodations there in Cebu are near in Hoops dome... Give other cities a chance to host Gilas games... Since 2017 when FIBA implement Home and Away games, Puro Manila lang ang hosting (except Bulacan's PHL Arena, but it is also included in Greater Manila circuit)... Thumps up for Cebu officials for handling an international basketball event well...

A good seating and VIP access on food and wifi will always attract the big money guys who will bring his entourage to show off his greatness,in turn, fans will come to enjoy the game and the spectacle. It should be promoted all across Asia, that its a star studded event, just like the last Superbowl, fans keep talking about the celebs and sports atheletes who attended as much as the game itself.

16 teams next season, like the original plan. Nice.

If it's 4 teams per league (B.League, KBL, PBA, P+ League; discounting the addition of other countries like Vietnam, Thailand), I think SMB, Ginebra, Mags, and maybe Phoenix and NorthPort have the best chance of qualifying. Hope that the qualified teams actually participate.

I think Cebu have already all those tools... The accommodation is by near the stadium, The venue itself is good in FIBA standards and Good nightlife if the want to go out such like beaches and malls... If FIBA allowed such as Baghdad, Damascus, Havana and Tel Aviv to host games despite civil wars are still exist there, why not Cebu? EASL games proved that Cebu is already capable.. I hope FIBA and SBP give Cebu a chance to host FIBA games... especially against Hong Kong, Manila fans are not interested in that game, since it will be lopsided...

Maybe CBA will join... I don't think they will give additional slots in B League, PBA, KBL and P+ League... Maybe 2 teams for CBA, PBA, B-LEAGUE, KBL and P League, while 1 team each for IBL Indonesia, VBL Vietnam, MBL Mongolia, Thai league, Malaysian league and might add Singapore Slingers or a team in HK... That's 16 already... If they put another teams in those major leagues, It's not a champions league already...

I would like it to be promoted thru inter Asian sports spectacle, make it sound like its a big thing,a meeting of the best clubs in Asia,it wouldn't hurt to have crossover celebrities be seen, watching the games and its good for the host city, since big names will attract locals and tourists alike to some of the hotspots of the host city/state.

FIBA Asia has its own Champions League. EASL is a glorified pocket tournament accredited by FIBA. Better for EASL to invite strong teams to attract sponsors

Just like in Europe... EASL is like the Europe Cup version here... But still better since Asians will expose more international competition... This is what Asia lacks, that's why Asians are too far behind when World cup and Olympic competition comes!!! Africa is already improving after FIBA and NBA create Basketball African League since 2020, They exposed into more international competitions, Hence, Their performance was way better than Asians last year's FIBA WC...

Sir CoJ,

let's wait and see what kind of high they will be if that propose grand plan of the B. League to implement their very first Draft Day on 2026 wherein there will be no more Asian quota and AUS players alongside(?) NZL ballers will be included as well.

for now those Grandpas are comfortably implementing their outdated(good old) system...their safe space.

we can't argue, they are very much comfortable with it for now.

Sir Reams,

I totally agree.

but as I said on my other reply, we can't argue with the Grandpas, they were very much comfortable on their safe space.

for now.
