FSA's playing in the PBA is a no for me, if the PBA is bleeding for talent why not just get the usual imports (US) who are like 10x better than FSAs? Also, Most FSAs and their fellow countrymen (Nigerians, Senegalese, etc.) have offers abroad (NBA, Europe) due to their size and athleticism something that most Filipino players lack, Filipinos on the other hand are always stuck in the PBA or recently just in Asia since it's the only league where they could play or get recruited. Filipinos need to "eat" too, you know!?

FSA or calibered-imports, I am for the two import quota in the PBA. Raise the competition, add the excitement and give teams their leeway in forming their teams.

If casuals only knew the extent of the dayo game and realize how many of these Africans exist in basketball hotspots like Cebu and even Pampanga before a few of them are young enough to play a year or two (or five lol) in college, they'd seriously consider it.

The PBA obviously knows this (since most of college assistant coaches do the same shit in the PBA), but wouldn't want to take risks because that's one roster spot per team and they take pride in their bullshit traditions that glorify the uniqueness of Pinoy players playing with/against height-restricted imports believing this myth that certain kind of players (the 6'5 dude who played center all his life and the 6'0 athlete who will probably lose to black dudes in the three-quarter-court sprints and max/standing vertical jumps) will never develop.

Edit: if a player has class, it wouldn't matter if there's a taĺl African dude or a fake Fil-Am on their team, they play ahead of them anyway. it's just charity for the ones who can't play knowing that a lot of PBA coaches were vicariously living through players who were good enough to stay in the league.

I agree with U bro.
2-import per team & add 4 more teams in the PBA so that more local players can play.

I wish TNT do a Ginebra, They should backout EASL and replace it by Magnolia... Aside that they are injured prone squad, They are not ready to play EASL yet... If Ginebra back out due to injuries and fatigue then TNT should do the same too... They have the reason thou... Pogoy is injured, Erram is injured, Castro is injured, Mikey has problems with his team and RHJ also have fatigue issue, came from his national team duties in Jordan... Magnolia might have better performance than TNT if they play there instead....

You need talent and depth to be able to compete in both the PBA and the EASL. Depth is something MERALCO has in spades that neither TNT nor Ginebra have as of the moment.

That's why Magnolia is best option there... They have depth too.. And they are doing well this conference...

Lets not include Euro or other countries not belonging to Asia and concentrate with region.

KBL do produce Asian level thats why they can compete with NZ and other countries. Japan dont even have an Asian Level center.

I am just saying looking at B.league, having no opportunities for Centers will not bold well for them in the long run.

I do agree lack of playing time can hurt development but I don't necessarily believe Japan's lack of an Asian big man is just because of opportunity, I think Japan's development has been different than some of the other countries, guys 6'8-9 with mobility and athleticism coming up seem to play center but also develop their perimeter skills which allows them to be more versatile forwards. Even coming up Akira Jacobs and Yuto kawashima for Japan are 6'8 center size for Asia but play more like forwards. Even from Korea, Yeo Jeon Seok 6'8 but more of a forward than a big. There are no local 6'8 players coming up that are like them. for Korea if I look at young centers coming up there is realistically only one that is Asian level potential and that Yungi ha.

Japan and SoKor don't have guys like AJ, June Mar, Japeth, and Kai that have a decent combination of height and talent. SoKor has Kim Jong-kyu and Ha Yungi, but that's it for them when it comes to the center position.

And kim Jong-kyu is already 32

The reason why Japan and Korea hard time beating China and Iran... In FIBA setting, having a skilled big man has an advantage against smaller teams... Japan w/ Watanabe lose to Iran last year's FIBA Asia cup while Korea can't beat Iran anytime they face off.... And China has Japan numbers (4-0 in last FIBA qualifying windows) and Korea.... If Kai and AJ will improve their games in next 5 years, Gilas has a chance to be the best team in Asia (sans Australia)...

lol how many imports does fubon have, they have 4 world imports(2 can play), 2 foreign naturalized players (1 can play)and barefield

Great win for TNT, and Josh coached a good game on defense (just defense, because their offense wasn't good). Forced a lot of turnovers, and Fubon were lackadaisical.

And this was a team without Castro and Kelly. The Hollis-Jefferson brothers helped a ton.

plus the Nigerian FSA who played well last time they met in Taipei.

who needs good defense if you have that 2 rhj.. they will out condition whole taiwan team

Even without bigmen, it still worked out for TNT because they have the length.

The usual pattern against Fubon was this:

Rondae - 6'6
Rahlir - 6'6
MGR - 6'5
Oftana - 6'5
Aurin - 6'1

Rondae - 6'6
Rhalir - 6'6
MGR - 6'5
Oftana - 6'5
Khobuntin - 6'3

Rondae/Rhalir - 6'6
Ponferrada - 6'5
MGR - 6'5
Oftana - 6'5
Khobuntin - 6'3

Rondae/Rahlir - 6'6
Ponferrada - 6'5
MGR/Oftana - 6'5
Khobuntin - 6'3
Aurin - 6'1

Rondae/Rahlir - 6'6
MGR - 6'5
Oftana - 6'5
Khobuntin - 6'5
Aurin - 6'1

TNT rotated this way.

It's intriguing that both Rondae & Rahir are listed as 6-foot-6 yet it looks like Rahir is taller by about 2 inches than Rondae.

TNT's chances for getting playoffs in EASL is that they have to pray Anyang and Taipei will not reach 3 wins... Their only chance is to be tied with Anyang and Taipei both at 2-4 record... So far Anyang has good quotient than both TNT and Taipei...

Anyang ( + 29 )
TNT ( - 6 )
Taipei ( - 23 )

They need to pray Taipei beats Anyang at their home big time and TNT will beat Anyang big too to advance

Meanwhile Meralco has very big chance, Just win all games then they can advance... As of now they are 1-2 and chances are big...
