Just saw the news. Why beg off? They're the best fit for non-PBA competition.

should have replaced them with Magnolia. Gins might want to focus on the pba titles, and their main guns are either injured and tired due to their Gilas duties,

Our best teams shouldn't be aiming for just PBA titles anymore. Should be aiming for more, see if they can compete in the region. If their guns are tired, that's why squad rotation exists. In the PBA's current format, though, squad rotation is difficult, considering that you need to get playoff position within 11 games.

Personally, I do think MERALCO's a better fit for EASL ball than Mags. Just needs size inside and a shot creator.

to be fair, size and scoring can be filled in by 2 imports. As I've said before, you have a problem if your team's top scorer is Allein Maliksi. (good 3-D guy, but should not be the focal point of offense) .

SMC manifesting its insular mentality again with this decision

The Asiad ends on October 8, while EASL starts on the 11th

Probably one of the reasons why BGSM/SMC is begging off from the 2023/24 EASL season. The delayed Asiad really complicated the scheduling of our local clubs' basketball events.

TNT is all set for EASL as they are practicing with both of their imports Quincy Miller and RHJ. Whilst Meralco is in Doha at the moment for invitational tournament though they will only be utilising lone import in Doha with Feron Hunt who like Scuba Holt is a former SMU Mustang. Quite a tough and busy sked for Meralco as right after Middle East tournament they will go straight to EASL season…

Well I am hoping that Meralco will take Kouame as their second import if they can’t find somebody to pair with Hunt…

Other Filipino imports who will playing for EASL are Abando (Anyang) and Juani (Seoul SK Knights) from KBL; Tamayo (Ryukyu Golden Kings) from B1 and Barefield (Taipei Fubon) from P.League+ …

I don't expect them to win, chemistry will be an issue specialty on their 2 imports, chot is back, pogoy health and i believe oftana is resting wag lang patambak...

Is mikey with the team?

FIBA rules, Chiba already past preseason form and playing at home, TNT doesn't have RHJ and probably don't know their two imports very well, Chot back... no one expects TNT to win.

RHJ will play, he’s already in Japan… Mikey, Pogoy and Oftana will not play…

Good news for them... but are they good enough against Chiba? Ira Brown plays as a local for Japan so they technically have three imports who have been playing together for at least a month now.

Maybe a close game… as long as tnt have RHJ in their roster, they have a fighting chance to win…
