To clear this up, I think PBA should just hold a mini KO tournament for all 2022/23 conference champions and runners-up once all conferences are done. The 2 finalists will then be the EASL representative of PH/PBA. I believe there's a financial incentive once a team qualifies for EASL so such tournament is going to carry weight and significance to the point where games might induce sell-out crowds due to intensity of match-up.

In taiwan they have multiple imports, easl is like glorified ligang labas as your lucky if you get one month worth contract for (pba teams)

Teams in T1 League can sign up to 4 imports. Note that as of December 31, 2022, the league abolished the Asian import quota.

Taiwan Leagues and the B.League are more inclusive when it comes to imports.
In B.League, world imports are not limited to the Americans. You see the likes of Rhys Vague, Brock Motum from Australia, Isaac Fotu from New Zealand, Ovi Soko from UK, Pablo Aguilar from Spain, and many more.
In both T1 League and P.League, we saw the likes of Palestinians, Iranians, Lithuanians and other nationalities aside from the Americans serving as world imports. Ricci Rivero could have been a world import there had it not for his injury.

Do both Taiwanese leagues have a salary cap both for imports and locals? Cause if they do, i think the cost of bringing them to their team is what it boils down to why their teams take Asian-descent players as 4th world imports.

So it means SMB and TNT can still tap Asian imports to strengthen their chances in EASL... Kai could be a good addition but he's already signed in Japan... Baltazar can also tap too.. Also available are Arakji of Lebanon, Al Suwailem of KSA, Ibrahim of Jordan, Sani Sakakini of Palestine or tapping Asian Americans likes of Tyler Lamb of Thailand, Remy Martin, Johnny Juzang of Vietnam... Those two teams should tap Asian imports who will fit them the most....

It should be... one of the reasons why Asian basketball is lagging behind because no other tournaments outside FIBA Asia cup that Asian teams can compete... Asian teams needs regular competition every year... In Europe, they have Euroleague, Eurocup while Africa have BAL (supported by NBA and FIBA), In Americas they have BCLA league...Most of the players playing there mostly members of national team already.... EASL should invite NBL then for the sake of big markets, include champion teams from VBA (Vietnam), IBL (Indonesia), TBSL (Thailand), MNBA (Mongolia) and MBA (Malaysia) and compete for a spot for top division or include them altogether...
